The comparison between dogs and parents, cross-cultural reference and the way he came about was a thing of a true comedic genius! Smartest joke I’ve ever heard delivered just right! GENIUS
THAT IS THE TRUTH
As a white guy raised in a majority not white country (tiny island in the Pacific) the bit about having a therapist that understands you is sooo important. Now back in the white world, my therapist review remarked how "affable" I was. Yeah that would be the 29 years in a collectivist society my dude, it's rude not to smile.
The joke was pretty weak and fallacious because you do need boundaries for someone who is an adult; nonsensical to compare to a pooch.
@@madagoletting parents die in nursing home?
No filter, no break and whether people are laughing or uncomfortable, he just continues. Gotta love it!
He’s annoying as fukkkkk
Interesting introduction I'm going into the clip with this top comment as the clips description so I'll check back with debunked results momentarily
All right so he's showcasing unused material, and that is one of the parts of interviewing confirmed that's always uncomfortable because they're essentially scripted 'conversations' that never comes off as genuine. Only looking for the laugh and new user engagement of the material. This interview should require a two drink minimum. Best regards
*comics
Agreed Bene, he is a fantastic artist!
"You love your dog and you love your mom, but only one gets to live in your home" BRUTAL 😂
Hilarious!
this entire interview was brutal lmao i love this
He is exceptionally observant, an agile storyteller, a fearless performer, and so damn funny. Great comedian!
👍
Also, fabulous hair 😁
He is a phony
and a liar
Liar, Liar....Because he's a victim.
Hasan Minhaj is on a whole other level; dude is deep, funny, intense & creative AF. Guy takes you down the comedic rabbit hole & actually makes me think with double-takes.
dude is not

I was looking for this comment...
Love it😂
😂😂😂
Hahahaha 😂
You're hilarious 💀
the only person who can make jimmy fallon not talk
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂
Lol yuppppp Jimmy struggled
Too smart and fast for Jimmy
This “interview” is essentially eleven minutes of what is probably Hasan’s new routine.
Yes.
Oh yes. Everytime he’s on here the same bit is used for special 😂 he’s giving the audience a taste of what his special will be like 😂
As someone who has seen him during this tour- these are the exact same jokes
"....should Be Terrified of AI (Extended)"
usually what a touring comedian will do when they come on
Hasan needs to be back on TV asap he's so funny. I hope netflix make a comedy special out of his latest show
I think he's too smart for the American public, lol. These days people don't want to hear the truth; they want a media narrative they can get behind.
TDS should give him that permanent host gig.
The Saudi government had Patriot Act booted off air for doing a show on them and since then they've been doing a smear campaign on him, a "reporter" for the New Yorker intentionally defamed him but Hasan was smart and secretly taped the interview and caught her in her lies, he should sue for that.
No, he should never be on tv again, he is a sub-human peice of filth. The amount of lies he has told, and the number of lives he has ruined from his so called stories that happened to him. All of his stories are made up to garner hated of white pople and authority. He ruined peoples lives with his crap and should treated with disgust.
@@wintersbabyyNah. Much better comedians out there who don’t have to lie about their personal lives to make their standup more appealing.
Fallon totally didn't get the joke 😂😂😂 He is the therapist Hasan was talking about 😂😂😂
My exact thoughts!!! LOL
Nice one. Jimmy should have ended it by saying "alright that's your 20 mins, see you same time next week?"
I donate to Wikipedia twice a year. It has been there for my insomnia nights when I'm really curious about how steel beams are made
I haven’t donated in a while and I thank Hasan for reminding me to do so.
Well? Can jet fuel melt them?

Great message about caring for our elders ❤
Yup after working in LTC I noticed that too

You can tell jimmy wasn’t prepared for this. Hasan went off script for sure
Naah. Jimmy helped segway the conversation from AI to therapy. He was prepared. Probably just letting Hasan run with his set that he has clearly practiced 20 times.
hasan always does this when he's being interviewed, it's his gift! and we are all blessed to see it!
@@delsmontgomery yeah usually everyone goes with it. Jimmy seems annoyed
@@ankita209I'm annoyed by his fake laugh and terrible interview skills.🤷
@@jhefferson9048I’m not defending jimmy. He fake as hell
It cracks me up how he takes over Jimmy's show every time. I miss him on tv so much.
I went to his show today in Boston. He talked about all he talked to Jimmy. All audiences bursted out laughing during the show including me, a Japanese woman.
My man took a generational edible and just started going stream of consciousness😂 “we don’t let our parents die in nursing homes??” 😬 💀 ☠️ 😮 😂 my man, you didn’t lose the dog people, you lost the white people 😂
I agree w hassan. We don't let our parents due in nursing homes.
Talking fast is a way to divert from the controversy, not that Fallon would ever bring it up. Funny that Minhaj even uses the term "accountability".
Nonsense. I mean, some of us, but I think he’s John Stewart level genius
Nice of Jimmy to attend Hasan's stand up special.
This man deserves to host THE DAILY SHOW

I believe they already offered him but he rejected it.
@@TejaKarlapudidue to the news article scandal i hear DS revoked the offer
@@TejaKarlapudi Unfortunately no. He said he'd take it in a heartbeat if CC offered, which they were going to do until that fake New Yorker article came out. Some lameass, ethically terrible reporter ruined everyone's fun and this dude's career.
Stay strong Hasan. I believe you are an honorable man. Thanks for having Hasan be a guest Jimmy. Thanks to your team, as well!
He is a peice of scum, he ruined people lives with his lies and false outrage. He has never been a victim but has made his whole act about being a victim; he is everything wrong with todays culture all wrapped up in a crap smelling package.
Hassan nailed the American love for animals vs humans❣
Perfect glimpse of what happens when Intellect knocks over average minds on the Media Screens! 🤠 Keep it up, and keep it rolling Hassan! 👍🏻
(Pron. as Hus-sun not Hazaan)!
Being a Pakistani, I am completely enjoying Hasan's conversation on parents and slight dissing to western culture🤣
I second 😊
He's dissing us with every right! We went so far away from nature and what's normal, with our bigger environment (earth) and smaller too (family)
@@anettszondra9026 I think every culture has its pros and cons. But I don't know what I'll do without my parents though I am 23 years old
I like the way Hassan depicts the true culture of different people with funny detailed examples
Jimmy was absolutely unprepared for this mania.
This is an excerpt from Hasan’s tour routine and Jimmy led or pivoted to every topic in order, so yes he was
he's just such a great storyteller, even jimmy is in awe
He has a point. I really cannot understand why it is hard for them to treat their parents with love and respect. We are all getting there as well, the old age.
This guy did a standup
A satdown standup
Whole time sitting down 👑
So sad how he was passed up to host the daily show. Such a talent. Brilliant comic and intelligent AF on politics. The man we needed.
I feel like this was a refreshing dunk in ice water, and I wonder if it wasn't at least partially fueled by his recent controversy. Those felt like Hasan was saying, "You want the TRUTH? Well you can't handle the truth! Unless you have a cat." Deep respect for that interview/stand up set.
A lot of truth in that comedy.
Oh Hassan
You made me proud as an immigrant !! We care about our parents. I totally understood everything you said about animal love and people love😊
I deeply appreciate this. As a millennial, Black woman and child of immigrant parents. He broke everything down so deftly. Well done.
This felt like him just doing a comedy show. Loved that Jimmy let him go wild and didn't interupt. Can't wait to see his new tour
As a cat person I approve Hasans message 😂
6:51 "Our parents are annoying but we don't let them die in nursing homes" 😊😊😊
Jokes aside.. At the rate things are progressing, there's NO WAY most of us will be able to compete for a traditional job, in a couple years time.. And I can't be the only one who sees this clearly coming. Can we PLEASE start changing how society works, to stop requiring all of us compete for meaningless busy work, merely to justify our survival?? After what I've been through over the last couple decades, and now being faced with this level of AI.. The next time someone tells me to "get a job" to my face, I fear I may uncontrollably punch them for it. If people don't start waking up to the obvious near future we face, the old saying is gonna come true: “A child that is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.”
Have u heard the old saying "You do the crime, you do the time”
This was a wild conversation! Hassan is so friggin talented! Loved the comparison between dog and cat people.
Ooohhh this was sooo goooddd!!!😂😂😂
Thank you educating all individualistics about what we feel about our parents!!! You went all in!!
This one is EPIC! Hasan showing that he's on a different level! Respect!
This was bloody brilliant... He just kept going and going like an energizer bunny
Hasan Minhaj needs to be the permanent host of the Daily Show. None of the temporary host have been funny so far. We need Hasan on that show.
Absolutely
Yes please!!!! He would kill it. His week remains the most entertaining.
Parents are definitely the most important we have in our lives
Hasan, I love you so much for sharing this. Amazing! I was just awestruck when you said this unapologetically, an observation I made and shared with my friends from this country on countless occasions. To have someone up there and saying this like the way you did was such genius! To not even consider the ones who gave you birth as "family" and not even having the opportunity to provide for them at an old age through insurance is such a farce. I'm glad you said what you said and you're amazing for that!
I love Hassan! He’s real funny. We just don’t have people like him on TV anymore. He needs to come back ASAP
I don’t need a therapist; I need Hasan Minhaj.
He is speaking the truth! Im european, and realised this huge difference how western culture handles old and young people/children differently than everyone else all over the world. In the west dogs have a higher ranking than kids and elderly people whereas other culture take it all naturally that it's just part of our life circle, everyone starts as a kid and if you are lucky you end up old. Child free weddings, plan sections, restaurants, old people in care homes sedated almost all day because we looking at them as a nuance a burden. I've been to many countries where people in restaurants take care of your baby like they are the most precious VIP guests and not like oh not again a family with underage people ughhh they gonna be loud
To respond to Hasan's point about therapy, AS A THERAPIST MYSELF, the reality is this: MOST THERAPISTS DO NOT EVER DIRECTLY ASK THEIR CLIENTS TO ACTUALLY CHANGE. Many therapists are guilty of "re-understanding 'the problem' over and over, until the client quits therapy." It's kind of sad, to be honest with you all. Asking a client to change their bad behavior introduces CONFLICT into the therapeutic relationship, which makes many therapists EXTREMELY uncomfortable. That is the sign of a person who should NOT be a therapist, btw.
You see, therapists are people, too. And sometimes we are guilty of 'wanting to be liked by our clients' which is in direct contrast to 'telling the client what they NEED to change, and knowing they will probably NOT like me when I tell them that.' This is called defensiveness, and transference.
That is the JOB. Do the job, or get out of the field. There are so many useless therapists in the world who, for their own comfort, won't do their job with true integrity or grit, because being 'liked' by their client matters more to them than doing their job to the fullest extent of their ability.
Good therapy, with a good therapist, can be illuminating, insightful, and can produce dramatic change in the life of a person. Bad therapy, with a bad therapist, most often produces nothing but stagnation and frustration.
A therapist who does the job of therapist for the purpose of engendering "likes" from clients is a dangerous person in the world and should probably have their license stricken. Just my personal opinion, though.
Ok, climbing off my soapbox now.
Thank you!
Whoa... This was amazing to understand to be honest. Appreciate your experience and truth!
My fiancé is a therapist and you explained it perfect. Everyone has got to find the right therapist for them
Just be REAL and self psycho analyze. Socrates said Know Thy Self. People are truly afraid to be honest with themselves about everything....even the little details. If everyone were, we would have no need for therapist.
See that is the difference between therapists and Physicians. Almst none of them care about 'wanting to be liked by their clients'. If a guys leg needs to e cut for the guy to live, they will tell it to the face regardless of conflict. And thus, ultimately, Physicians have a better cure rate than therapists.
Note: When I said Physicians I meant those do allopathy (ie, actual medicine) not scams like homoeopathy.
Love the lessons... those that distance themselves from parents but yet can't leave a pet. I guess they are just something else. Love hearing him talk and miss his show.

He’s funny AF 😂… I love this dude for humor and his guts to stand up for the RIGHT thing ❤
He didn't tell jokes, he spoke the truth...
Hasan is the best. So committed, so confident, so intelligent. Not too many get him, but for those who do, he is just fine wine and great cheese.

So true about dogs and your parents! 😂❤ finally someone said that!
Hahaha I loved him! good vibes from a 🇵🇷 ! I bet his honesty may affect “some” but he brought such an important issue … cultural diversity needs to be addressed and discussed 💫✌🏾
Wow, he did this act exactly the same today at Peoria Civic Center, just 3 hours ago. I thought it was all instant and didn't realize that standup also requires remembering a script and practice just like acting.
really underrated episode. so smart
It’s a tough time for comedy, but I’ll give it to Hasan he actually makes me chuckle every once in a while
That was awesome! The audience wasn't ready!!
Maaan! Hasan is just on another level guts to say things about Asians and with such charisma and honesty 🙏 Thanks man!
Brilliant!!! How to find comedy in uncomfortable truths.
Wow. This whole bit was giving "Off with his Head" ✨ Great advertising
The one about parents and his take, its true in one sense, take care of your parents as much and more then they've taken care of you your whole life 💞 don't ever leave their side 🙏 & I've been a Hasan Minaj fan p.s. shout-out Fallon too always.
Looooooove hassan minhaj he is one of the best 💖💖

He is so quick, so witty, and so funny!!! Honestly, everything doesn’t have to be for everyone … feel free to move along if Hasan Minhaj isn’t for you, but some of us have been waiting a lifetime for someone with his voice and perspective! 💥🧡🤍💛💥
He's spot on. I study Chinese culture for my work in medicine and have gotten to know this truth. East Asian cultures from what I've seen believe more in collective and family support and we believe in individual freedom and family support but not in my house please. A happy medium maybe best...hilarious and confrontational. Love it. Love the animal analogy. Spot on.
This was a whole special. Super funny ❤❤❤

I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this!
I love this bit. Jimmy wasn’t ready. Long live Hassan. More power to u bro.
Just brilliant.
Super engaging!
As a seasoned therapist with almost 30 years experience, I really want my clients to see results and they do… unfortunately, the consequence of being “too good” is that I work myself out of a job fairly quickly. Haha. While listening and creating a safe place to express thoughts and feelings is important, I think some clients and therapists think just talking about things over and over is enough, but a therapist that’s effective has to walk the fine line of raising awareness, naming patterns, challenging in a way that is helpful (especially negative, self-defeating thoughts and stories) -but not pushing too hard, or quite simply, people won’t come back and then nothing happens. I’m actually a trauma-informed Art Therapist, and I’d highly suggest people find someone that has experience in Art Therapy or other hands on techniques- its powerful and can bypass verbal BS if someone is stuck. Particularly to address anxiety or trauma.. It’s important to work on the impact of trauma and stress by healing the emotional dysregulation and soothing the nervous system vs just talking about what’s happened. Loved this! (I’m also a cat person. Haha).
I know im just a random stranger on the internet but i wanted to share that i had a therapist for 1.5 years and it was the most fraught relationship ive ever had in my life. I still feel so angry at them and how they reacted to so much that I told them. It felt like I bared my soul and they didnt take it seriously at all. I feel angry writing about this now. Never doing therapy with a student in training ever again, even if its for a PsyD. My psychiatrist thinks a lot of my responses seem trauma based, just how strongly I react to so much. I hope I can get over this one day. Im not even really sure if my current therapist is helping me get over the last one, as much as I would like. Maybe progress is just slow like that. But what hasan said about finding someone culturally attuned is so important. I wish someone told me that going in. Sometimes I feel like that therapist ruined me completely and I will never get over my anger.
@@s0ngf0rx I’m really sorry to hear that. The therapeutic relationship is a very intimate, special type of relationship and if that trust is betrayed it’s a real violation. It certainly makes sense to me that it would feel traumatic. I actually have a client right now that had a bad experience when she attempted therapy over a decade ago (interestingly enough with a brand new student) and it upset her so bad it took that many years before she would try again. It’s very important to find the right fit. I always encourage people when they come in the first time to let me know at the end of the session if it feels right and they think they feel comfortable coming back in and if not, I won’t take it personally. As a therapist, we should be seeking therapy, and more than once, I’ve had someone pretty awful and definitely chose not to go back. I hope you find the help you need and deserve. Very sorry you allowed yourself to confide in someone and they didn’t respect that.
any suggestions for finding one in NYC?
I'm really sorry you went through that. I can relate - not good experience with a PsyD therapist in training and a far worse time with the therapist they recommended me to. I'm actually thinking I should adopt a cat (I"m a cat person). It's tough figuring out what can help. Wishing you luck @@s0ngf0rx
