I remember the first time I saw her was a few years ago and she just stepped out a few feet from the curtains. It was a genuine surprise to Colbert and was something that needed only a few seconds of his time. His face glowed and he rushed over to her like a school boy with a crush on the supply teacher.
Seriously, everyone wants someone to look at them like Stephen looks at Evie. 🥰

Would someone please -- PUHLEEZE! -- give this woman her own TV show? Cooking show, children's show, talk show -- it doesn't matter. Her charisma and talent would shine, and her legions of fans would follow her anywhere! I know I would. 😁👍
I've been saying since the first time she came around on Stephen's show that Evie should be his Andy Richter sidekick, but I've come around to the idea that a) she doesn't really want to do that every night (I presume; I have no knowledge of that, and she always seems to be having fun on the show); and b) it makes it that much more special when she does grace us with her presence.
But I agree, I would tune into pretty much anything Evie was a star of. (Evie is the star of anything and everything she's involved in...that includes Late Night and Stephen knows it) ;)
I don't think she wants to do it full time, but we might talk her into some limited run thing... She's got star quality!
@@ammaleslie509 You might be onto something here -- while I can't imagine that I'm the first among millions to say I'd watch anything Evie does, and I think she kind of shuns the spotlight because that's her nature, something like a five-minute CZcams thing that came out weekly (?) would be awesome. Her smile is so honest and beautiful I legitimately think it would make everything better to have at least a little more of it around :)

Those two are the most authentic wholesome thing on TV.
In lesser hands, this public display of real devotion might be cloying and red meat for cynics. But I just dare anyone to accuse these two of putting on an act. People can smell fake a mile away, and the Colbert COVID Closet era revealed that these two are the real deal. Gives me hope.

DAMNIT!!! These two are so great together and Evie is getting calmer in front of the audience which sounded like she got a standing ovation when she walked, along with playing games with Stephen and poking fun at him. You can tell just how deeply they love one another on how they can play off of one another without a plan and only have fun with one another in front of millions. When they were young and broke with little kids she handled the money. Then after his big break she just kept handling the money. Good idea.
That's how adults stay married forever. TRUST. They were poor together and worked through it to get where they are now. He gives her everything because she IS everything and the money would be useless without her.

My favorite part: when she starts to hand him a card, then pulls it back, "You want it?" and he snaps "What?" but immediately softens at her laughter and leans his head on his hand to look at her with a face full of love, "Yes, I want it..." Then she hands him the card and he beckons her in for a sweet kiss... they are so dear!
