Every interview of a politician should start with those questions.
It was standard practice before 1980.
And the interview ends if they refuse to answer the question, or reply with answers aligning with the Big Lie and the effort to overturn the 2020 election results.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the other side, the first two questions are "do you support 🤡" and "did you vote for 🤡". If the answer is no to either one, or if they refuse to answer, they will not continue the interview. Democracy at its best. 🙄

Journalists will not safe you, if your political system is rotten as it is. Way to much money in politics, electoral college, which gives small states way to much influence, strange understanding of freedom of speech (news outlets, politicans (even presidents) can lie 24/7 without getting checked, judges voted in for life (!), cherry mandering...and most important maybe: poor education of to many people in you country.
buttom line: the list is way to long to believe, that your country can not be taken over by guys like Trump. And that is very scary. In my country Germany, i guy like Trump wouldn`t even become a greenkeeper in the local football club. We have right wing parties aswell in Germany, and we also have to fight for our democracy. But a guy like Trump would never ever get elected into office..

Agreed. No one person should be allowed to hold an office in a governmental body for life. Not only does that set up a perfect recipe for corruption but it blocks new ideas from being brought to life. And only truths from being brought to light.
@@Justusson I agree. The Justices of the Supreme Court should be elected by... Their peers. I think they're the most qualified to make such a decision. I'm no lawyer so I don't think I should be making the most important decisions about the laws, that's my reasoning for them being elected by their peers. And not just judges but anyone who has passed the Bar exam, and not been involved in an insurrection, can vote. It sounds pretty democratic to me.

I remember Nancy Mace going on Bill Maher after the interview trying to make it sound like George was asking all about her rape to make her uncomfortable and look like a victim instead of talking about the Trump trial which she went to. Democracy takes some work on the part of the governed. Voters need to do some research on the candidates from a wide variety of sources. Voters need to listen to a variety of pundits, and filter out those who lie or misrepresent the facts on a regular basis. Nominate good people. Vote for good people. Voters need to acknowledge, at least in the privacy of the voting booth, that the better candidate may not be of their preferred political party. Most of all everyone needs to vote.

The Republicans have been waging an undeclared war on American democracy now for about 25 years. Their leader has emerged and we are in for, a lot of trouble. If you think my talk of undeclared war is hyperbole, consider that our capital has been besieged and sacked, and there have been murderous skirmishes in the streets attended people who cross state lines with assault weapons to commit them. They have propaganda, spewing agents in the highest offices, they finally have control of the Supreme Court, and the NRA is considered to be the GOP’s IRA. They even think they have God and patriotism backing their fascist actions.
