I can promise you that diabetes isn't the main danger of freeze dried candy, and the issue isn't exclusive to hard candies, but gummies as well. They become ridiculously sharp, the first time I tried a freeze dried gummy peach ring I sliced my tongue open.
Fun fact: cavities aren’t caused by just eating sugar or anything labeled unhealthy. It is a bacteria that is transmitted through saliva like: kisses, taking a bite/ drink after someone else, sexual escapades. Eating larger amounts of sugar (like kids do) aids the bacteria in growing stronger and ‘rotting’ the tooth it infected and kids that don’t want to brush their teeth or just do it with water also aid the progression of the cavity/cavities thus starting the misconception that cavities are CAUSED by candies/sweetes or just unhealthy things in general. I recommend if you want to avoid cavities to never drink or eat after someone even if it is your parents/ significant other unless they are sure they are healthy in that regard with what they also put in their mouth. If you think there is a cavity starting in your mouth/ just want to be safe after brushing your teeth you can rinse with hydrogen peroxide (not a lot just two tablespoons or three) and swish with it as well as gargle with it (can prevent tonsil stones which ARE caused by poor mouth hygiene) and spit it out before rinsing and gargling with water.
