  • I have been hearing a lot about Azure Standard and how I need to shop there, so I did. They have a wide variety of organic products ranging from food, to beauty, household and so on. I ordered my basics this time, just to see if I liked buying from them. I found that this is a great way to buy in bulk and stock up:)

    CAN A HOMEMADE TINCTURE CURE YOU? • CAN A HOMEMADE TINCTUR...
    Hi! My name is Kim. This year my family has decided to throw out all the conventional ways of easy cooking and convenience foods. We are moving towards a new way of life..more holistic, with whole foods, all organic, and home grown garden produce. Better food, better health, better life! I know it is going to be more planning and hard work...but what we eat is the most important thing that we do all day. Food is medicine or it is poison. I want to serve medicine to my family. Join us as we embark on this new journey. It will be full of progress and mistakes, as we try new things such as tinctures, salves, fermentations, canning, homesteading, gardening, and so much more. ❤️

    I've been ordering from Azure Standard since 2015 and I am finding new products to love all the time! The Azure brand raw cheddar cheese (5 lb block) is our favorite cheese ever. Most of our grocery budget goes to Azure each month, but it took me a long time to get to that point. I think my favorite part about ordering from Azure is making friends with the like-minded people at the drop. :) That's how we found our homeschool co-op last year!

    Only use shampoo on your scalp and conditioner on your mid and ends. If putting it all the way to the ends it is too drying and a waste of shampoo. Conditioner on your scalp, unless your scalp is very dry, will give you too much oil on your scalp. Also, don't wash your hair every day. Every other is good enough. It's not good for your scalp or hair if you wash every day. Just some suggestions. Take care and thanks for the video!

    Thank you.I bought the Great River bulk soft winter wheat , hand mill and flour book thru your link, thank you for the knowledge.
    I need to put the whole bag in the freezer for 4 days?
    I have food grade 5 gallon buckets and oxygen absorbers.
    Do i just take the 25 lb bag out of the freezer and pour into the bucket and drop how many absorber packets is my question?

    • @homewithkim
      @homewithkim  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Timothy! Thanks so much for using my link. When the bag arrives, place it into your freezer for at least 4 days, next take it out and let it sit on a counter for a day, then open the bag and dump it into your food grade bucket. This is all we have done...with success. I haven't used oxygen absorbers, yet, so I am not sure of how many you need to use, however I did look up google...
      GOOGLE:
      For foods like rice, beans, or wheat stored in a Mylar bag to be contained within a 5 gallon bucket, use 2000 cc’s of oxygen absorbers. This leaves a bit of a safety margin which is particularly important for larger size items such as beans because they have a bigger void space around them.
      Notice this is using a mylar bag as well.
      Also check out this website. It might be of more help: www.usaemergencysupply.com/information-center/packing-your-own-food-storage/oxygen-absorbers-recommended-amounts

    How was the cheese for melting? Velveeta is the only cheese that has melted into a sauce for me. The others I have tried just melt into a clump.

      You can can it when in ghee form! Super interesting, when I was in culinary school we threw any and all clean butter scraps into a pot to melt down for ghee. Not sure on timelines but it lasts when properly stored for years. The solids I believe can be separated off and dehydrated, I could be wrong but I wanted to share my love of butter in whole form and clarified 😂

      Thanks so much! I like to have fun:). I boil the noodles and while that is going on I grate my cheese add in some milk/cream and wait for it all to melt. Add in salt and pepper and usually that is it. If it needs to thicken I will mix a little water and flour to the mix. Lastly I pour the cheesy mix over the drained noodles and Done! About 20 minutes. I will be making pasta from scratch and maybe I can do a video with mac and cheese then:)

    Azure standard is garbage in Tucson AZ. They haven’t delivered on time for months, and they rarely even ship what you order. I ordered 50lbs of red winter wheat, and instead of receiving it, I waited 3 weeks and got a single flyer. They then cancelled my order. I will never use their service again.
