- Warning! This might gross you out! Never did I ever expect to have to clean our chickens butts so that they wouldn't die. We saw that our hens had Gleet or some kind of diarrhea going on, so we snipped some feathers and cleaned them up. But, I almost lost my lunch! Hilarity ensues!!!

My uncle had chickens on our family ranch and my childhood experience was limited to gathering eggs without getting attacked by the hens. I’ve been wanting to have a few backyard chickens but can’t free range due to feral cats and hawks. I’m not sure I want to take on “chicken butt baths” though. Thank you for being real and authentic. I found this video to be informative, gross and extremely hilarious🤣

Oh my! I knew about pasty butt, but have only seen videos on young chicks getting it. It sure didn't seem like a big deal solving the "little" problems. I had no idea it could happen to grown chickens. This might be a bit of a challenge for me. I have a slightly weak stomach but my main problem would be trying to catch a chicken at age 70. Haha
Either way I will just have to figure out a way & overcome my challenges. Thanks for the laugh though. It did my heart good. ❤ I found your channel yesterday & I love it!
LOL! Glad I could give you a laugh! As it ended up, we only had do bathe them that one time and they were fine, thank goodness! No more issues.

Five years of being a chicken mama here, and their breathing-butts never become "normal". It's the strangest thing ever. Also, the poop just becomes more prevalent as the years go on. We have 32 acres and more poop than plant life. Not really - but it is absolutely everywhere. Every day.
I have one chicken and she makes a mess in her coop. She is super affectionate though.

Raise was too funny. Wait till one has a prolapse and you have to stick that baby back in. Fun times. Also if you put your arms out to the side and do a low caw like the rooster. It is much easier to catch. Watch the rooster when before he mates. The girls well squat to be bread and that's how we learned how to catch them .

Yes, they have a DE bath area, plus they free range.

@@homewithkim I used to wade through the chicken poo to pick up eggs (production houses with 19,000 chickens this was in the 1960s) barefoot because it was easier to wash my feet with the waterhose than my shoes. Grossed my Mom (city girl) totally out. You will get used to it eventually. Mom did LOL.

My first batch of chicks this year I had a poopy butt with one of them. I had to clean her butt 2 times. Even though the chicken is a hen I still nicknamed her Joe-B

That's funny, but unfortunately also sad, because here you can see how unconscious many people in this world are about their creative power. It's simple physics: the law of resonance. This universal law has worked since the beginning of creation. It means that every living being creates exactly that reality with its belief/expectation about what its reality is/will be like.
