Running a red light is not treated nearly as seriously as it should be, people just keep running the red light. When the light turns green, look both ways to make sure no one is barreling through. Then go.
Absolute horseshit that you have to check EVEN when you have the legal and practical right of way
For a starter, we should double the fine and demerit points for running a red. Then, about 6 month later, make that triple the original amounts. If that's not enough, after another 6 months, it's up to 4 times, then 5 times, then...
@@Kualinar agreed - we need to make it so eventually if you run a red light you get banned from driving for x amount of time.
I hope for a day when it's still humans behind the wheel and you can't put more than a couple or so clips in a video.
Oh, I forgot to add... Taking the MPU examination, the "edjit test", costs a couple thousand bucks.
0:48 Truck driver has their signal on and cammer decides to speed up and cut them off
Exactly he literally sped up, what is wrong with people.
Yep Cammer wasn't paying attention or he'd have seen the blinkers. Sorry but he's in the wrong.
Sorry but you never just put on a turn signal in a truck with a load that close. The truck was in the turn lane at the same light. If you're a truck driver you never need to be in a far right lane ever if there is a 2 turn light going in the direction. He was in the correct lane but wasn't paying attention.
@@user-tu1ee6dc5fbut you also don’t pass on the right so….
No defensive driving on display from dashcam driver.
Matt P. Challenging a truck when he had time to slow down. Must want a darwin award.
Or maybe the truck driver should learn how to drive you’d think he would with a cdl but most likely he thinks he has the right of way because he is in a truck
the cammer did nothing wrong though
@@LieseFury fr he even moved over out of his lane to avoid
Nothing wrong with passing on the right.
@@LieseFury But the smart thing to do was to de-escalate the situation by slowing down.
There’s already plenty of comments about Matt P and it seems we’re all in an agreement that he’s an idiot. My favorite part though is when he says “I don’t have to let him in” and then when is buddy was about to say “you didn’t let him” is when the video is cut off.
And he keeps saying, "I was going straight" as if they were at an intersection, lol
I came here to see if I wasn't the only one who saw that and I wasn't disappointed
feel the clip was cut off cause his buddy was about to explain that it sounds like he was in the wrong 🤣
Came to the comments for this. That situation was entirely preventable.
Seems like he didn't notice the truck was signalling until he was too close, there was really no reason for the truck to even come over because both lanes exited and the lane he was already in could turn right.
"Truck driver cut me off." No he changed lanes with a blinker while you were speeding on the right. My favourite part of these videos are people who submit thinking they're in the right.
Also made zero attempt to drive defensively and sped up into the breakdown lane to overtake instead of just braking slightly. Some of these drivers bring it on themselves.
You never pass on the right. Idiot driver feels entitled to pass on the right rather than swapping lanes to pass on the left. Had the truck hit him he would have been at fault
The cammer is 100% RIGHT. Just because you put your blinker on, it DOES NOT give you the right to change lanes. And passing on the right isn't necessarily illegal, especially if you're in a dedicated exit lane.
@@ffjsb the cammer is NOT right. Speeding into a breakaway lane while passing on the right IN SAID BREAKAWAY LANE is not legal. Cammer also had ample time to avoid the collision and chose to speed up.
@@osrsdoomm262 WRONG. The truck DOES NOT HAVE RIGHT OF WAY. Cammer's speed is immaterial.
backing up on a highway is INSANE wow
I like how that one didn't even need explanation text.
And not even a highway with a shoulder. You've got cattle chutes on both sides and you're backing up on a 2-lane highway filled with heavy traffic!? Absolutely wild.
that was stoopid
@@andrewb378 driver definitely had an IQ of -200
@@RoonMianAll of these clips were the cammer's fault. EVERY - SINGLE - ONE of them
Honestly, I feel like half the cammers are just overly aggressive and escalate these situations beyond what they need to be.
I have been noticing this in a lot of dashcam comps. Like, is getting in an accident and possibly being injured worth being "right"? Just do what a normal person does, which is tap the brakes and give way, scream "dumb motherfucker," then get on with your day and your life.
It's getting close to half
i swear so many of them are itching to escalate and exploit other drivers mistakes to submit it to an idiots in cars youtube video
3:05 more like YOU waited too long to get back on your side of the road.
Yeah he was definitely partially in oncoming traffic.
Exactly this. If your tire is in a rut that’s showing the other lanes line on the right, you’re the one on the wrong side of the road.
I was like why is calmer so close to the yellow lines!
All I want for Christmas 2024 is for Dashcam Nation to call out cammers who make bad or dangerous decisions themselves, as part of their "significant text commentary."
Eh they want to get the cams tho… better to judge for yourself.
There have been clips where DN called out on them, have u watched other videos?
@@Icyelsrp Yes, I just don't feel like it's done enough, especially with clips like Matt P. where they have their own text justifying their actions. I suppose DN trusts us to see what's up, and feels that if they did that, they wouldn't get to show these clips at all.
2:58 Looks like you are driving over the yellow line, something the pickup didn't expect. Had the pickup crashed it would have been your fault.
All of these clips were the cammer's fault. EVERY - SINGLE - ONE of them
1:10 Matt the truck didn't push you away, you overtook it on the wrong side. If you had been in the left lane, where you can also turn right, the truck would have been able to turn right into the lane much earlier. so that you can legally overtake on the left. You don't seem to be able to drive in anticipation.
100% on you, Matt.
Not to mention how long the truck already had their blinker on. Matt sped up anyways.
Exactly, don't pass a truck from the right lane.
You can tell this dude is an asshole when he keeps blabbing about the truck dude, he didnt even turn on his own lane
I've driven box trucks. The truck messed up by not looking while turning. Matt is going about 70 mph before the truck tries to switch lanes and if that's the speed limit, the truck is 100% at fault. If the speed limit is 55, Matt is a lot more at fault in my eyes for trying to pass on the right.
Several Cammers at fault in this one
Honorable mention for 3:07 driving in the middle of the road, then wondering how the red truck ends up going off the road when the cammer only makes a token effort to move over.
7:37 while you seemingly have a show playing on your phone on your dashboard. Yeah, you're the real hero here....
I was wondering what that “get down on the ground” part was
I mean it’s not like they were distracted. Other driver is still at fault for not yielding.
I was looking in the dash reflection to see if it was a video... unsure? Definitely not good if it was a video
@@erie7452All of these clips were the cammer's fault. EVERY - SINGLE - ONE of them
Right! He's literally watching police body cam footage on his phone, you can see him move it from in his field of view when he pulls over at the end. Super distracted driving.
4:31 classic example of why you shouldn't take the suicide gap. also, if you are on a multi lane road, stopping for these people makes it so others in adjacent lanes have a worse view of the car. it may also make the suicide gap jumper think they are clear to go.
literally how I got into an accident, I was the turning car. a big SUV decided to let me go (they were in the left lane) and somebody came speeding up way faster than I thought in the right lane and hit my right door.
Thankfully nobody was hurt, but I learned my mistake for sure. I'll never go unless I see both cars stopped.
that's exactly why if i'm ever in the same scenario as the turning car, i take my sweet ass time slowly edging forward to make sure it's clear. not worth the risk at all
Forst of all, how on Earth are you allowed to turn left there ? Is this common in the US or what ?
@@noefillon1749 there is a split in the median for cars to turn into the plaza area. this is generally pretty common in more built up suburban areas. personally, i hate these types of areas for reasons just like this; too many people with too many possibilities of where they may be going. luckily, there are loads more places adding a center turn lane, that way you are out of traffic, and can safely time and judge your turn.
@@raelsadd6378 Ah, Anerican and its stroads. Wide numerous lanes, as if it was designed for high speeds like a road, with lots of conflicting trajectories (entrances and exits, left turns, pedestrians... theoretically), like a street...
at 3:38 that advice is exactly what not to do. unless you know your car doesnt have abs do not pump the brakes, and to control a skid you have to counter steer into it.
I haven't had time to read all the comments, but you are the only one so far to call this out... never steer away from a snow skid.
7:38 was so funny “get down on the ground now!.. BEEEEP”
7:58 you can see the driver on their phone in their window. Lucky they were paying attention
They are watching tv that’s the video playing about get on the ground etc
1:24 it looked to me like the truck was very clearly getting over and this guy sped up and got right beside him, almost causing an accident. you can see the truck starting to get over and he speeds up to get beside him
can hear it too
The driver with this is cam was in the wrong, he didn't even know you're not supposed to pass on the left. Totally clueless on how to drive. The truck driver could not see him. It's scary how many people there are like him who don't know how to drive
The truck could easily see the car. I can't understand why everyone thinks that we ride around in our trucks completely blind. There is no where around me that I can't see a vehicle. I can see you in the mirrors and if you are beside my right steer, I can see you over my hood. I can see the roof and 7"-8" of the window out of my passenger window of something like a Camry. If that doesn't work, every truck has either a mirror over the passenger window or a little window in the door.
@@Lemmon714_ Every vehicle has a blind spot at the right rear (or left in the UK,etc) that's one reason why it is illegal to pass on the right. If there were a cop behind them the guy passing on the right could have gotten a ticket for that, plus possible one for careless driving and maybe one for aggressive driving. The truck driver should not have lost his cool, in any case he should be used to guy like the one in the car with the camera who don't know how to drive. On top of that, that guy is an idiot because getting run over by a large truck and squished is an unpleasant experience. Defensive driving is all about watching for idiots like the cam guy
@@ChristopherHailey Like said, I can see any vehicle around my truck, even a motorcycle IF I look. It is easier to check to see if it is clear in my truck and two trailers than it is in a car. All I have to do is look in two mirrors and over the hood instead of turning my head around and look at the mirror. That is what my mirrors and windows are for It is not illegal to pass on the right if it is safe to do so unless it is posted. Everyone passes on the right. No one stays behind someone going slow in the left lane or lanes.
Almost the last one, that speeding motorcycle isn't a future organ donor...they will be using a vacuum to get his remains off the road, side of a vehicle, or whatever he hits...
When I go, I want it printed somewhere "They had to use a squeegee to clean up his remains".
Third guy who passed the truck on the inside is partially in the wrong
The car drivers fault imo because the truck was clearly indicating and the car sped up the inside and forced him to swerve out of the way. The car driver should've backed off and allowed the truck to change lane.
@@harrisonmckenzie4905Also notice how at the beginning of the video that the area of the truck's turn signal appears to be blurred/pixelated. I'll bet the turn signal was on for even longer than the video clip depicts.
Regardless of "in the right" or not, why do people always force the issue. Just chill and back off.
Would you prefer a collision, dealing with cops, insurance, no car and everything else, or a couple of seconds added to your trip?
Makes no sense, even in the situation that the other guy is a jerk, they aren't going to change their habits because you decide to enforce your assumed rights.
People really are stupid sometimes.
The cammer was all the way in the wrong.
@@tedbarrett8497 Yeah, the cammer shouldn't have tailgated the.. oh wait.

2:56 how about you stay in your own lane next time, pretty sure that truck thought you were gonna swipe him and he tried to move over more and got caught up in a rut because of your wrong doing.
He was in the other guy's lane for the cleared off road. The thing is he didn't move into his own lane until it basically looked like it would be a head on, and so the red truck seeing the other guy is a complete ass hat finally goes out of his lane to avoid the cammer who is in his lane coming at him way too fast. The cammer would have had to pay for any damages for sure. It was 100% his fault, but by shear luck the red truck was able to not smash his truck up.
@@ReligionOfSacrifice 👍
0:48 No you inconsiderate person, the truck driver had his turn signal on and instead of slowing down and letting him get over into the right lane you sped up and passed him on the right as he was trying to get over. He didn't cut you off.
turn signals do not grant right of way. just because you signal...doesn't mean the seas part for you. even before the cammer sped up, the truck driver did not have the room to make that lane change safely, cammer was a dick true, but again. Trucker made an unsafe lane change. period.
@@VoodooV1 - And then got pissy about it afterwards and tried to confront him. Even if the camera car was in the wrong, his response was disproportionate.
The cammer is a douche, but the truck driver has to be sure it is safe before moving and he could see the car if he knows how to use mirrors. Going by his actions, he may be too stupid to know how they work.
The cammer was also in his blind spot when the truck started moving over. The cammer was dumb.

7:50 dude...we can *see* and hear you're watching fucking TV/youtube while driving. And you have the gall to argue about bad driving?
5:30 "you're backing up??? oh my"🤣🤣🤣
"All-season tires suck in the winter." Hey, the name means that you could technically put them on your car during any season, it's not a promise that they'll be good!
In my country if your tires don't comply with the "situational winter tires mandate", which a lot of all season tires don't, you gotta check, and you drive on snow, slush or ice it's automatically a $60 fine and one point in the traffic violations registry. 8 points and you're deemed unfit and have to do a medical psychological examination (costing a couple thousand bucks) to get your license back.
0:48 Ah yes. Someone with their blinker on for a good 5 seconds before beginning their merge is 'cutting you off'.
Or you could... you know... pay attention?
5:44 that wasn’t a BMW. That was a Land Rover.
I was thinking the same thing when I saw this part.
9:07 "Nearly t-boning the car in front of me"??? Are you freaking kidding me right now 😂😂😂😂😂 Cammer is hysterical
Most people seem to have no idea what it means.
He was clearly trying to zipper merge but the Civic braked for seemingly no reason
@@RikuKawaiFor real. That Civic was clearly ahead of the Beetle.
@@jadenfrancis5469 The beetle definitely slowed down since there wasn't a *ton* of space between the civic and the cammer. I understand that they were trying to merge between them, but there just wasn't space for it. I can also undertand why the civic slowed down since I also don't trust other people to be paying attention.
My dad had me watch this channel among many as part of my driver training. A couple days ago I was in the passenger seat with my boyfriend and we were at an all way stop sign intersection. He started to pull forward to turn left onto the freeway. I noticed another car on the opposite side start to move. I held up my hand and told him to hold up. My friend complied and a t-bone crash was avoided. His car was the only means of transport and the collision would’ve been on my side.
Smart dad
These videos have helped almost predict what other drivers are going to do and have saved me and others from many close calls

That idiot at 5:33 took the phrase "bad drivers never miss their exits" to another level
5:07 Typical Jeep driver.
02:45 that driver did not do a tug check after hooking to the trailer. sometimes the weight of a trailer will help it stay with truck for a time, but without the tug check and verifying the 5th wheel jaws locked, this will eventually happen. unless the 5th wheel itself broke (which rarely happens), the driver was lax in his duty. this is why i always look to verify the jaws are closed.
when i start driving im going to get a dashcam, u were the one who made me get the idea from ur channel tyvm😭
2:56 THAT was the cammer's fault! He was way too much left so that the oncoming car had to try an evasive maneuver, which made it end up in the ditch.
@0:49 you are totally speeding. While passing in the right when you had plenty of time to slow down to the speed limit and let the signalling truck in. YTA.
The last clip of the video is actually from my city! And that specific situation happens quite often in town, especially at that intersection I feel.
1:00 That truck was signalling his lane change well ahead of OP being there. Then, OP accelerated to illegally pass from the right. OP claiming having the right of way when he didn't don't change the fact that he acted foolishly.
3:55 What were they thinking making that left ? That's the problem, that driver was NOT thinking and ignored ALL of the traffic.
4:15 For WAY to many drivers, a red light is nothing but a random street decoration.
4:55 Does she have shoes made out of lead ? Car jumps forward, jump backward, jump forward...
6:50 That's exactly why Québec's traffic law make it mandatory to have Winter tires in Winter. More jurisdictions should do the same.
Passing on the right isn't illegal. The cammer was a douche, but the truck has to make sure it is clear before moving. The car could be seen by the driver.
4:41. Exactly right. I call this kind of behavior "misplaced philanthropy." Learn Right of Way, and exercise it. Being the "nice" person could result in disaster.
3:00. He wouldn't have had to slow down if you weren't in his lane.
Explain crashing into a Bright Yellow School Bus to your Insurance Company. Wow
Just hope all the kids are ok - that back emergency exit door was open, which makes me think there were students on board.
According to the text, the driver said they fell asleep at the wheel.
The way I woke up from near sleep when I heard Dimension 20 on the clip around 2:30 lol
3:10. It's almost like we should pay to get these roads cleaned. It's daytime and sunny, why is there still snow on the road?
All season tires are fine in the winter. It’s the driver. I have them on my Miata and drive in Colorado Snow just fine.
Also snow tires doesn't mean you can stop on a dime. We always use them here, it's required by law, but sometimes, even with just light snow and no ice, you'll just enter a long slide until a full stop. I left on a bad blizzard last week, an idiot was flashing me from behind, overtook me with speed before an intersection, then it turned red and I hit the brakes about 100 feet from the pedestrian crossing, at no more than 25 MPH, and the car stopped right in front of the crossing. With good winter tires, less than an inch of snow.
My favorite was one of the dashers is clearly watching CZcams videos on his phone. You can see it in the reflection of the windshield. Doesn't seem like he was at fault in that particular clip but kinda hard for him to submit this like he's on some kind of high horse.
Alan N. Got great taste in music lol
I love your videos
Sounds like another compilation of driving fails and mishaps!
Ever since I saw these videos from the USA, I understand why there are far more accidents and fatalities there than here in Germany.
As with Matt P., many of the problems are due to the mentality that "I'M ALWAYS RIGHT". No one takes their foot off the gas to alleviate a situation. Everyone keeps going at full speed, even if there really is enough time to simply take their foot off the gas. Often you don't even have to use the brakes. A little more consideration for your own mistakes and those of others would prevent A LOT.
Seeing as Germany has a population of 85 Million and the US has a population of 340 Million, it's just a numbers game at that point. 4x the people means 4x more opportunities for 2 vehicles to occupy the same point in space at the same time.
Also your example wit Matt P., he was in Canada...
@@2k7duramax There might be 4 times more people in the USA than Germany, but the USA is also 28 times bigger than Germany. Imagine 85 million people living in California who have the mentality that they are always right..
Just to add a tidbit here... this is Highway 401 Eastbound in Ontario, Canada. That's the Bayview exit meaning you're in Toronto. Not American.
@@2k7duramax OK, sorry I didn't recognize the Canadian roads. As a European, it's not necessarily that easy.
In terms of death rates, in 2011 the death rate per 100,000 inhabitants was 4.3 in Germany and 10.6 in the USA. I wasn't talking about the absolute figures, but the normalized statistics. I did not make that clear in my original comment.
[edit:] in 2016 USA had 12.4 and Germany 4.1 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants (Road Safety Report WHO 2018). The population density of Germany is 236 inhabitants per km² and that of the USA is 34 inhabitants per km² in 2022/2023.
Germany also just has different automobile culture, like in the us if you want to do literally anything you need a car. Going on a walk gets you nowhere

~3:30 pretty sure you're supposed to steer into the skid
Correct
and don't break.
4:40 Don't create a sucker hole. You won't be the one suckered, it will always be the crossing driver. You actually are as responsible for the accident as the crossing driver.
How are you going to tell the crossing driver "don't go, it's unsafe"?
The driver wrote on his channel that he wasn't trying to create a sucker hole; he simply didn't trust the other driver not to drive into him.

Yo don't put bad info in your video. Do NOT pump the brakes in any car with ABS. The ABS is going to modulate the brakes at 10Hz, based on wheel slip, steering angle, and vehicle yaw angle.
If you're braking and sliding, keep pressure on the brake pedal and steer where you want the car to go.

Bad advice on cannellemabelles video. That's not being nice... thats the law, it's illegally to block intersections. Do not stop your car in traffic infront of a intersection/turn/entry/exit. This accident could have been avoided had the car in traffic stopped a couple feet behind the crossing, so the car could have pulled through to see oncoming traffic.
Tornado of souls. Nice!
2:25 No, that should not have happened. Part of a pre-trip inspection is to do a tug test. Apply the trailer brakes, release the tractor brakes and give it a little throttle. Doesn't like this this trucker did a proper pre-trip inspection.
On the third video: even if you have the right of way at times it’s best to back of. Being right could mean someone gets hurt or worse. He had time to back of and that would of been the better option 🤷♂️
@4:40 Best driving advice in the world: don't be nice, be predictable.
"We don't have buildings on our planet"... those Big Finish audios are ridiculous
4:31 dude what the- his trunk piece came off--
#3 it's the cammers fault, passing on the right, ignoring the trucks directional.
That truck didn’t cut him off 😂 dude had his blinker on and was starting to change lanes and Matt decided he didn’t want the truck to get in front of him and sped up. Anyone saying otherwise didn’t watch the same clip
How did I go 35 years of my life not realizing shit like this is happening ALLLLLLL the time. I have a precious BMW E30 that I would HATE to get totalled.
2:26 what’s a horn gonna do?
Warn drivers that aren’t paying attention. Also how people react outta fear occasionally.
6:45 - More like don’t drive like it’s summer when there’s snow on the ground.
