You do realize that when it’s a SOLID WHITE LINE you’re not supposed to switch lanes. That’s why they’re close to the lights and stop signs. Ur not allowed to switch lanes during an intersection and that’s exactly what one of the cars did

There were an awful lot of idiot cammers severely overreacting to supposedly being "cut off" in this video.

I thought I was the only one that noticed these. A lot of these I'm like, "no there was more than enough space in front of you, the lane change was legitimate stop being entitled and clip-farming"

My dad told me that even when the light turns green, ALWAYS check both ways before hitting the gas. Has saved me twice from blatant red light runners.
i do that and always get honked at for being too slow, but id rather be slow than be hit (im 17 lol)
My grandpa taught me how to drive. This happened when I was 15 but when I was stopped at a stop light, my grandpa told me to make sure I was stopped behind the white line. So I looked down, the light turned green and someone ran a red light. That probably saved from an accident.

@philtucker1224 it's called the pit maneuver. Commonly used by police which is when the driver of the vehicle will steer into the opposing vehicles rear end, causing a rear fish tail and subsequently paralyzing the opposing vehicle sideways. Hopefully safely without others involved. In very few instances this is done due to the risk of involving other drivers. Most commonly done where there is low risk and less cars on the road.

You don’t expect someone to come to a complete stop with an empty road ahead every time you see brake lights. If you’re the kind of person who slams on the breaks whenever you see brake lights, you might be the newer driver

I wasnt surprised at all by what happened- But i was watching both cars. To clarify here- Black truck was kind of the asshole in this situation.
Rewatch the events. Silver car had their left hand turn indicator on, and was moving into the left turn lane, waiting for the "opening" in the middle divider before coming over behind the already stopped cars in the turn lane (They arguably/maybe couldve gotten over a smidge sooner- But that middle divider was available for the oncoming traffice side to also use. By all means waiting for the actual opening in the lines isnt exactly a "bad" nor surprising thing).
Black truck also had left hand turn indicator on.
Silver car begins to merge over-
And the black truck merges over at pretty much the same time , only at a higher rate of speed and basically begins to dive past the silver car, essentially cutting them off.
Silver car saw this- and came to a stop to avoid an accident.
If the black truck had been paying attention to the guy with their turn indicator on, who was obviously slowing down and going to go into the left turn lane, AND didnt try to dive past him, and actually left him room- Silver car wouldnt have come to a stop.
That all said: You should *always* drive with the expectation / anticipation that the car in front of you may panic stop at the drop of a hat, and you might not know/see/understand why. Maybe its an accident your unaware of. Maybe its an animal or small child you didnt see running in front of them. Maybe its an automotive or medical emergency. *Always* drive with the very real possibility that whoever is in front of you, may panic stop for any number of reasons.
The honk this guy did accomplished absolutely nothing, and was more than likely, aimed at the wrong person because they didnt fully see/recognize/understand what happened/why.
Just leave some space, drive calm. The camera car couldve just left some space, slowed down, let them merge on their own- and gone about his business with zero issues.

Try and make a habit of watching these videos sometimes. The older you get the more time you have to get accustomed to driving and the more time you have to get complacent. Know too many adults who were good drivers at one point in time then forgot to stay vigilant
Always leave early and make sure you're always paying attention. Hell I've had times where I just can't process decisions well for whatever reason so I'll pull over, collect myself and move on. Usually takes less than 10 minutes and is a hell of a lot safer than forcing it, if you leave late you don't get that luxury when you need it
I’ll add my driving advice to the pot: try to learn to read those highway signs!! I know we have gps and whatnot, but sometimes it’s wrong, or it’s taking you some convoluted way, OR you may not have service. It’s a handy thing to know, and that’s why they’re there. Know what number/ street name your exit is? Pay attention to the signs letting you know how close you’re getting. Look at the arrows and stuff, I promise it’s not hard, you just need start small and take a look little by little. The more ya do it the better and faster you’ll be at understanding.

Did she? We only have cammer's comments about her flashing high beams at cammer - but we have video evidence of cammer speeding up and flashing high beams at her before she started brake checking.
I'll never justify brake checking - should be automatic license suspension, but when cammer instigates by flashing their high beams and aggressively tailgating, what do they expect to happen? Cammer was an instigator and got the expected result, then comes here and cries about it.

7:02 Although these situations are very frustrating, I think it's safer for the driver to play a more courteous position and slow down to let the car in front maneuver instead of speeding up. Driving is also about making sure others on the road are safe too

But look at when they swap lanes theres still a good 1-2 car lengths between them when she decides to honk and it wasn't even a honk to let them know she was there it was a honk because she didn't want to slow down.

Not cool if someone waited that long to merge, but for all we know, the driver is unfamiliar with their surroundings and realized late that they need to take that exit.

Some of these videos are just drivers filming who are impatient and not letting others change lanes. You CAN slow down for 3 seconds to let someone change lanes.

Yup - residential areas are usually 25MPH (at least where I am). Cammer goes under 10MPH and complains the other driver is impatient. I would have thought they were looking for an address or something, and by pulling right were letting me go.
Stupid people don't understand cars come with turn signals and the emergency light button. I've seen people flat out park in the in front of a driveway blocking part of the road and no lights. Like it's not hard to press a button if you're gonna there super quick, there's no parking, and you're gonna be out in a couple of minutes.

There's been a number of clips lately where people claim to have gotten cut off when a car never even ended up in front of them, and they still claim they were "cut off."
it's all of these small town drivers (incl. in some of these comments) who are super fragile about "wahhh they broke the rules" and "how DARE they signal and go in front of me quickly"
they'd have a real rude awakening if they EVER drove in somewhere like NYC, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, etc.

It’s actually pretty common to do that in big trucks when they want to pull into a driveway and don’t have lots of room to pull forward. My dad does that. I mean sure they should have their blinker on but it wasn’t right for the person to pass them
This happened to me before. A driver moved all the way to the right of the road and comes to a complete stop. I assume he's parking on the side of the road. Then, without signal, turns left into his driveway.
I think in the clip at 6:08, the guy behind him thought he was pulling to the right side of the road. Who makes that much of a wide turn that slowly anyways? He could've been using his blinker, but I didn't hear one.
And he has eyes, but it doesnt seem like he used them.
I don’t think any sane person would try to pass a car on the left in a residential area when the car has their left blinker on, it’s more likely the cammer was lazy to use his blinker.

There's about 4 different signs saying left turn only, red car shouldn't of been turning right in the first place, and when you're tired and its dark, you probably aren't thinking "hey I should check if any cars are turning right here." And even if the red car was allowed to turn right, cammer has the right of way anyway

This is why I have such severe driving anxiety.
1:35 was his own damn fault. Car in front of him slows down, so he immediately goes to pass over the double line. If he'd just slowed down and stayed in his lane, he wouldn't have had to scare us all with his "HUH HEEEHHHH DURR!"
I think he was distracted because he was talking, brakes too late and thus swerved to the other lane. I don't think he was trying to overtake
He was also following too closely, barely a second behind. My observation has been most people don't even know they are following too closely, following some stupid notion of "two car lengths" or the like - TWO SECONDS, people, it's not rocket science. If he'd hung back two seconds and NOT floored it to get around someone turning, it wouldn't have been an issue.

tbf, dash cam is high up on the window making the gap appear large, the cammer was following at a normal distance. that is not room to merge, if you lower someones stopping distance to less than is needed to make a stop then you are endangering the person behind you when merging, no matter the speed.

1) cam car is not obligated to yield because someone has their indicator on for a few seconds. It's the white car's obligation by law to safely switch lanes and take exits WITHOUT hindering anyone else. They failed pretty bad.
2) even if the cam car was not driving there, the white car would have *just* made it on time as you can see the exit is right there at 7:32. Even if made it, it's still a pretty poor job on that drivers end.
3) a good driver changes lanes earlier to avoid dangerous situations like this

I have gone through that road a lot of time and I can tell you , you have to be dumb to no be in the right lane , GPS ( google map and waze ) is really clear as well as the road sign 😆

@@41IVI4 1. Have fun being stuck behind the mail truck in residential neighborhoods, since you're not allowed to pass. Since that's your rule? In residential and even over solid double yellow, you can pass if a vehicle cannot maintain normal speed (like a tractor, dumbass driving, etc).
2. Who drives 5 mph a hundred feet before the driveway, stick to the far right of the road as if they're inviting people to pass, and doesn't use a signal? To another driver it doesn't look at all like the cammer is going to turn, it looks more like they're parking or pulling over on the right shoulder. Would you wait behind someone pulled over on the right shoulder indefinitely, just because you "can't pass"?

These videos have saved me from getting into crashes various time. I literally look for people to do these things and then I avoid them.

It's not "insurance scams" all the time - more often than not, it's just ego that won't let them give up their "right of way" even to avoid an accident.

The Jaguar driver in this case probably thought cammer was going to be at fault. Without the camera it would be very tough to argue that the Jaguar driver intentionally braked to cause the accident. Most of the times, a rear end accident is the fault of the person doing the rear ending. So was this a scam or done with the intention of trying to teach a lesson? We may never know...
It’s the jags fault in the end, but the cammer should not have been in the left lane going that slow.

That was a VERY stupid and risky thing for the person at 9:03 to do, creating a random road rage situation like that. The incident happened in Dallas, Texas. She got lucky that she didn't do that to the wrong sort of person because they could have easily been armed, and willing to use a firearm offensively (versus a self-defense situation). I'm really not sure what's going through the heads of folks who pull those sort of stunts, but they sure don't seem to be thinking very clearly.
I'd really like to see video of what led up to this. My bet is the cammer was hogging up the passing lane and finally the SUV driver had enough. 2 wrongs don't make a right but man...there is nothing worse than someone hogging up the passing lane.
If cars are passing you on the right, you're in the wrong lane.
Unless a driver is on drugs or drunk, I highly doubt they would randomly break check someone like that without a reason.

Based on this video the cammer started it. The grey suv went around and got into the far left lane.
The cammer accelerated quickly towards him and soon after started flashing his highbeams at the person. The grey suv brake checked after that.
Left lane is for Passing, if you're just chilling, move over a lane or two. In most states this is the law, no matter if you're doing the speed limit or not in the left lane.
In my 20+ years of driving I've only used the horn maybe once. With enough experience, almost 100% of the time you can predict what the other vehicle is going to do and if you have time to honk you have time to simply avoid it. Other times you're too busy maneuvering to honk.
the car horn should be used for emergency situations like warning someone, not to vent frustration.

This looks like an attempt to scam by getting rear-ended, which likely would have seen the cammer at fault without video evidence or an overwhelming amount of witness testimony to the contrary.

@@coreykirby1632 When I was doing driving lessons for my test I was actually told to keep two car lengths of distance on normal roads, and four car lengths on more on the freeway. Following that has definitely helped me avoid some sudden brakes from resulting in crashes.

@@fighter5583 The speed you're going in the left lane doesn't matter, you have to get out of the left lane when the right lane is clear again, only using it to pass. Otherwise it causes road rage like that, traffic buildup, and accidents
@@BlindMango You really don't. That only applies if you're moving slower than the traffic average speed at the time. Plus, any laws about this are rarely (if at all) enforced. What is a more pressing concern are those who pass in the right lane and obviously speeding to get ahead of others.
In general, you are in more danger of getting pulled over by police if you're going more than 15mph over the posted speed limit than being under it.

@@Re69. ever so slightly in their defence they only have 2 kms where they are aloud in that lane. Combined with the people beelining it to the upcoming HOV lane can make it difficult. That said the more egregious cases are definitely truckers (and dump trucks) who have no idea where they are going.
5:50, U -turn has the right of way as long as there is not signage indicating otherwise. Cammer needs to drive more defensively because many cars can't make a tight enough u-turn to not end up in the outside lane.
I think u mean they have the right to turn. Not the right of way. In this situation oncoming traffic is first priority then its right hand turns then its left or U-turns. The driver needs to give right of way to the right turning traffic or make a tighter turn otherwise he has to wait.
@@I1ght961 I believe the cammer had a red light which would mean the person making the u-turn would have the right away as long as they have a green arrow which, admittedly, is slightly hard to tell as it is not in the shot.

Two things stand out to me again in this video:
Proper following distances are key and getting off the gas for a second instead of on the horn makes the traffic flow so much smoother (deciding to take the exit the very last second is still stupid though)
4:47 dude in the truck tries to get into the turn lane before the solid yellow line, when the driver infront was planning to. Driver infront breaks out of reaction to the truck coming out on his blindspot. I personally think most of the responsibility lies on the truck.
Also the cammer should've been paying attention to both cars and not just the truck, even if momentarily he could only see the truck. The car shouldn't have been a surprise

4:40 I hate both type of people: If you know you have a red light ahead, why would you hurry and maybe cause an accident hitting somebody ahead? Also if you have a green light ahead, why would you go slower and maybe cause an accident hitting somebody behind?
The green light part, well, you have to look left *and* right for red light runners. So don't assume the guy in front of you *WILL* continue, if he has to avoid a runner. But I'm just speaking for a possible situation here.
My reading was that the silver car had stopped, maybe due to a breakdown. He had his hazard warning light on. Who knows? At the end of the day it’s going to be your fault if you run into the back of him.

it's illegal in my city, as you are halting traffic. doesn't matter if you're trying to be nice, once you stop in the middle of the road for no reason, a cop will pull you over. way too many accidents happen because people obstructing traffic doing this
They weren't stopping to give right of way - they were going to turn and changed their minds. Cammer was, among other things, following too closely (barely 1 second). My observation is most people don't understand they are following too closely - it's not on purpose, it's ignorance.
