- Navy Braces - Ever wanted braces but couldn't afford them? The military will pay to get your teeth fix for FREE!!! In this video I will share with you the steps I took to get my braces in the military.

If you have rubber bands and you ask for colorful bands they will do it if they have them in stock. Braces and invisalign are 2 different things. Some of us just have to get braces. Invisalign are just like a retainer. Great work as always. I see you still growing. I had to drop back and focus on my mental health, bc of what is going on.

I’m in a squadron that doesn’t deploy Admin.. so I got braces out of pocket but I didn’t realize you have to ask permission regardless. Thank god my Skipper is chill, because I got it Monday and he noticed Today and didn’t say anything.
So after boot camp you can get braces but then have to stay on shore duty to have the braces maintained? Or you have to have accumulated 2 years of shore duty to be allowed to apply. Navy FYI Would it be possible to get braces and get it paid for by the military in a 4 year enlistment I am trying to maximize military benefits.

No but you can get different color rubber bands.
what if your working in the ship yards because your ship is done with their deployment ? can i have braces during this time?
You may be able to get them but you ship has to be in the yards for at least 2 years.

What would be considered to good for braces. My top teeth are okay but my bottom really are not great.
Spencer 11 it’s really up to the orthodontist. I would say if you don’t have any gaps, a overbite or a bunched of teeth you probably will qualify for braces.
I have an overbite and it’s pretty bad I’m in the army you think I qualify for them?
I don’t know how the army works but it won’t hurt to try.
I know this is off topic but do you know if it will difficult to get LASIK done, while being in the navy? I understand that tricare won’t cover it and I will completely pay out of pocket for it, so it isn’t an issue.
There was a CS I worked with that got it done, so you will be able to get it idk if you will have to pay out of pocket tho.

@@Flythe97 i was on shore duty in hawaii and tripler had laser surgery for free, i wish i had done it. You just get your package online, go to one training session, get a request from your chain of command then get put on a waitlist of 6 months.
What if you get sent to a overseas base?
John you can still get them as long as you are on shore duty for a minimum of 2 years.

How exactly do you get them for free? Where do you go while in the navy to get them? Does Tricare take care if it or it a military Orthodontist?
Just got to dental and ask the dentist on base they will evaluate your teeth to make sure you need them and the go from there. You have to be on shore duty tho.

I thought the got rid of the blue fatigues, how can you still wear them ?
They dont issue them out anymore but the instructions say we are okay to wear them until October of 2019. Then i will switch over the the type III.
My command allows us to wear the blue fatigues until October 2019.
I literally work in dental, I'm getting braces out cause we don't have an orthodontist here. (Tri-care might still pay) but its crazy cause I'm trying to get my command approval and no one knows the process to route the paper work and i don't know what to do. Smh

Bruh I’m in a squadron (Sea duty) but I’m admin and they don’t deploy us… ever. I didn’t know I had to request permission, and went and got them 2 days ago. My skipper noticed today but didn’t say anything.
I’ve mentioned to my LPO I’m going to get braces but she didn’t say I needed to request so if I got in trouble I’d be pretty pissed. I’m paying out of pocket so idk if it’s the same in regards to asking permission if you don’t deploy.
It’s hard for us Marines. They turn you away unless you medically need it. I get joint disorder since I have a huge over bite and I clench my teeth when I stress & they still turn me away and that with me speaking with the navy to get my braces.. do y’all have anything that I can do or say that will make them change their mind? I tell them I always bite myself when I eat and they say they can’t do anything.

Yes for the most part or either not getting deployed as soon as you go back to sea duty.

No you can’t because you won’t be able to get you braces tightened while in bootcamp.

Yubert Bersabal join the military first and get braces with you own money. But talk to your dentist in the navy before you do that to make sure it’s ok.

You should be able to qualify for braces to fix your overbite. In that case it will be free through the military.
