This is great that sailors have ways to communicate with their families while deployed on a ship! Also good news, my waiver finally got approved so I go to MEPS again Monday to pick my rate and swear in! I’ve been waiting for 3 months - I’m so excited and nervous 😬
Yes it really is helpful. I can’t even imagine how it was back in the day when sailors only had writing letters for communication it must have been rough. That’s great I hope you get the job you want! Don’t feel pressured in to picking a job you don’t want you can always come back another day. This is your future so make sure it’s the right move for you.

You can never really be “ready” at least mentally for boot camp until you are there in person I use to be a lazy person before I went to boot camp now I’m so much better as a person & honestly everything in boot camp was straight forward there wasn’t anything too “hard” just prepare mentally that’s all

Man I love this shit. This is great how the Navy has changed since I went in Sept 1985. Thats good you are sharing your information makes it easier for younger folks to know the deal. Everything I did was letter mail and waiting for the next port to get it or during an UNREP lol. Phone calls was basically started in 1992 and emails by mid 90's. Man you all got a good deal now. Hello! Can you be more descriptive on the communication? Like how will I be able to send these letters, or what can we expect when we send an email? Usually how accessible are these computers to the sailors? My boyfriend will be leaving on deployment soon and I’d love to communicate with him as much as possible!!

Hi. I ship off in November 10th this year and was I wondering what I can use the computers in the Navy ships for. Can I go on the internet with the ship computers to watch CZcams and communicate with my loved ones? Can I Skype someone or use hangouts to do a videocall with the Ship's computers?
Is it true on the new Ships ,,that you have a TV in Your rack?? Do the CS's still get the hook ups?

Is it advisable to go to c school as cs from a school when you from boot camp
michael affum they won’t send you to C school right out of bootcamp you will go to A school. C school is usually for E4 because it’s watch captain school but there has been exceptions for E3.

michael affum they won’t seen you because C school is a watch captain school. You have to learn how to be a cook on watch before you can be a watch captain. You have a very slim chance going to c school right after A school, but it won’t hurt to ask.

Hello.. Can a deployed navy can request a vacation leave?
Zaira Pangandaman you can request leave whenever but it’s up to the command if they approve it. When your on deployment you can’t take leave only if your in port .

Why do subs go river city for weeks and weeks?
Idk why subs do it but my ship only went to river city for like a week tops.
In my day you had to wait till a port comes up to make phone calls., unless it was a red cross emergency

Been trying to send my boyfriend pictures via Email but he says he hasn't received one yet. Any advice?
Have you tried his ships email? I would send the through Facebook too. If that does work you could always print the pictures and mail them to him.

Best is email guys. I got him T & T calling card but my phone don't ring it goes to VM helppppppppp. My phone carrier it's T Mobile. He is in Truman 6 thousand sailors 🤦🏽♀️ besides he already told me that net will only be near port. I'll continue to write letters he asked me for them.
You are right email is more efficient.

This navy that im chatting with HANGOUT said,, he's under on peace keeping mission and until now i didn't hear his voice nor see his face thru video call and he wanted me to make a request for his emergency leave from his deployed camp. Can you advice me what to do?
Zaira Pangandaman you can not request leave for him. That is something he would have to do.
But he's insisting that im the one will do that for him and he said, he's in baku, azerbaijan camp.

3 but 1 of them I Volunteerd for.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 8 years of contract(5 years sea & 3 years shore duty) I should expect 2 deployments 8 to 10 month each. Oh that’s not too bad.
@@nuwanchamara904 yes for you first tour on a ship you can expect to go on 1 or 2 deployments depending on what time you get the the ship. It’s not bad. Then you go on shore duty
Two deployments in five years are you on drugs? Hell when I was on a ship in 1975 we were underway all the time except for a month here or a month there to replenish the ship.

You can’t use your cellphone on the ship
TheEboneyNicoleShow no you can’t. There is no signal when your on the ship. Unless your close you land you can go outside of the ship and use your phone. But inside the skin of the ship your phone will not work even if your close to land.
