Im late seeing this, but congratulations & best wishes on your departure. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the inspiration. 💯🙏🏽
Thank you for this video! I’m currently beginning the process of separating, and glad I saw this.
Great informational video brother thank you!
You are so genuine. Thank you
Thank you so much. Just trying to help as many people as I can.
Thank you for being a down to earth person and thank you for your service
Thank you so such your truly a blessing ill prey for you brother
Thank you so much and it’s called Alta notes. It’s the electronic copy of your medical and dental record.
Great advice! I hear too many Veterans say, “I won’t qualify for disability,” when in reality many qualify for at least 10%-20%. What so many don’t understand is disabilities are not only visible wounds as you mentioned. Sleep apnea is very common among Veterans. And 10% is all you need to qualify for Vocational Rehabilitation (VocRehab); that’s additional money for college in addition to the GI Bill. Plus, a spouse can go to school on VocRehab (Chapter 31) 👍
Note: I didn’t file for my disability while in the Reserves, because leadership stated I could not serve, receiving drill pay, and disability pay. This is FALSE!
That is so true. I will have to look into vocrehab myself I didn’t know my spouse could use it. Thank you for the info!
Yes I was told you can receive disability and be in the reserves. You just can not double dip.
Great Job Dave ! This info is so High Definition
Thank you so much big beezy!✊🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for the video. It’s a super helpful amount of info.
Thanks for the game big bruh
Your welcome Ivan✊🏾
Bro this video helped me so much as a soldier on the brink of getting out you really opened my eyes to a lot of options I didn’t know I had. Thank you.
You are very welcome. Good luck on your journey!
Amen my Brother
MAN! THANK YOU! It’s been a MOTHER trying to get all this simple info. I have asked people who were in the process and who have already gotten out. What do I need to do and when. “Start going to medical”. I’m like okaaaayyyy…..what ELSE! Anyways…thanks bro you so very much appreciated ❤
Yeah fortunately I was medical retired, but I should've got checked for sleep apnea. It is so crazy that dverything is digital, but they need us to hold on to our physical copies of everything. This was a good idea. I'm glad you a resource. I didn't know I still had to request my post 9/11 before I joined. Also summer isn't normally covered. The people who tell us we shouldn't file unemployment will act surprised when some of us go homeless. I don't worry bout them haters.
Thank you so much fro the support bro! People will always have something to say I just don’t listen to them. That’s another reason why I move in silence!
Appreciate it dawg, I have less then a year left in the navy. This was well needed. Good thing I have family that works with veteran affairs for disability and a job for me. Schooling is next. 💯
Your very welcome I know you can’t wait to get out. Dang tell your fam to hook me up with a job🤣🤣 what are you going to school for?
How’s it going man you still getting out ?
Thank u
Your welcome

Hey Dave Im shipping out Feb 15 as a GM, also wondering how the quality of life is for that rate and any advice you could give? Also, Thank you for ur service!!
GM is not a bad rate they just do a lot of maintenance on their weapons. Life is good as a GM it really just depends on what command your at.
Any advice on how to be confident in the job that your in they put me with airman pact which is with aviation
Get you a mentor and lean as much as you can about the job. Knowing what you are suppose to do will build confidence.
You can use your start your GI bill process while your still in then immediately go to school when u get out and get BAH?
Hey Dave, I’m shipping out June 29 as a RS which was previously called a SH. I was wondering if the quality of life is a bit better than a lot of rates in the navy. Like 15 hours days ? No lunches ? No breaks? I figure you would have good insight on a rate like RS because their apparently in the same division as a CS.
Man your in luck RS is the easiest rate in supply division, maybe in The navy. Probably the hardest part about you job is receiving stores to restock your stores. But you still get hour lunch breaks and everything.
You’ll be in Mississippi for A-School, make sure you hydrate b/c it’ll be hot af especially this time of year. The staff there is pretty chill, just pay attention and try to shine your boots well, as a RS youre not necessarily doing too much manual labor so there’s no reason your uniform shouldn’t be squared away, at least thats how they look at it in MS. Getting to the fleet as a RS shouldn’t be too hard, as long as your direct chain of command is somewhat chill, your job will be super calm. The RS’ on my ship are able to relax a bit and sometimes even sleep throughout the day when the store is closed and there isn’t an order coming in. Good Luck in basic.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 Thanks Dave for the info wasn't sure, what I was getting my self into with that rate, definitely getting rid of any doubt I might have had.
@@jamalritchie7148 Appreciate the amount of insight info you were able to provide with this rate I was a bit disappointed with not getting LS even though I was more than qualify but, it sounds like RS isn't bad. The only negative thing I hear was the advancement sucks.
@@jamalritchie7148 thank you so much for the info!
Im on the fence on getting out, got a year n half left, the inly thing is i have 2 kids. Also i joined at 26 im now 30 , all i know is WE DONT GET PAID ENOUGH! I really need more funds, but i do know the percs of staying in especially with kids. Idk what ima do.
Did you decide?
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏
Thank you!
You are so cute
@@Salinasaved thank you!
I hope this isn't a dumb question, but are men have locs in the military? Or do the braids and twists only apply for women?
Yes that’s only for women. Men can not have long hair in the military. Maybe they will change that in the future.
Recently I was diagnosed hashimoto's a thyroid disorder... have to take medication for the rest of my life. Also went to a therapist due to my depression/devastation I felt after knowing that is a disqualification. Am I only hindering any chance of an opportunity.
@@ethanmooney6153 I’m so sorry to hear that. Usually you will not be able to join if you are taking any depression medication.
So as of right now, I have ptsd which is 70% I’m pretty sure, what can I do to get the other 30% so I can get out with 100% disability?
Will you still be able to work while collecting your claim check
Yes sir
you still get e-5 bah even though you got out? how does that work ? is that only because you are disabled veteran or is it for everybody?
When you go to school and use your GI Bill the military pays you E5 BAH up to 36 months as long as you are in school.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 thanks alot for your reply! does that mean in school for full-time status?
@@19kidkid your welcome. If your full time you get the full E5 BAH and if your part time they will give you less. And if you take online classes they pay less.
Did your time in the Navy go by fast? I’ve been in 7 months and it feels so slow.
I’m an active duty Marine and trust me it comes and goes in waves. I have a 2 years and a half left and some days are faster than others. Just keep rolling with the punches and eventually you’ll get out. Have a plan tho. Semper Fi
Does the navy go to war or fight even from a distance?
Just shooting missiles from a distance. Unless another ship or sub gets too s close and want the smoke.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 lol
Can people in the navy are you able to video call while deployed out in Iraq but you not on the ship your on land
Does this also go for the Airforce ?
Yes most likely.
Are you retired?
No I did 8 years and got out.
