I enjoy bootcamp I graduated in may , it’s not easy but not hard, just stay focused and motivated. Currently stationed in Yokosuka japan as an ABH love it for now 😂‼️‼️

I’m preparing to head to bootcamp very soon. Current PFT is 1.5 Mile-10:26. 75 push-ups. 73 sit-ups. 33 pullups. Hoping to go spec war

I’m good on the plank and sit-ups, been working on my cardio just to keep my heart rate up and steady but need to get into actually running.

If anyone’s curious about covid at rtc:
If you’re not vaccinated at least 14 days before going, you go into a 14 day quarantine on your first day of arrival. If you test positive after that, you continue your quarantine until you’re negative. When you test negative after that, you begin your 8 week training. If anyone in your division including you tests positive at any point during training, you all get put on a 2 week quarantine again and the process continues. Your belongings get taken during quarantine, you don’t have your phone to call home during that time.
If you’re vaccinated 14 days or longer before arrival at rtc with your vaccination card, you’ll skip the quarantine and go straight into your 8 week training.
Graduation’s have just reopened as well, you can invite 2 people and you’ll get to call home about 2-3 weeks before your graduation to let your family know about your graduation date.
Masks are required at all times for everyone regardless of vaccination status. The only time your mask comes off is to eat, sleep, and shower.
Edit: Liberty weekend after graduation just reopened as well!

Hey Dave please correct me if I am wrong but I thought you weren't allowed to take prescription medicine to BootCamp because of the process of going through MEPS. I am just kinda lost in terms of how to be able to bring prescribed medication to BootCamp?

Ok...so let me make sure I'm tracking...my son can bring a small hygiene bag with toothbrush & items 8oz or less? He can have his cell phone & they store it? He can have a small address book, stationary, journal?, Clothes goes in storage? 25 dollars now versus 10? Prepaid phone cards & stamps are ok yes? Bar soap or travel size soap ok? Underwear & socks given. Also, what kind of shoes are issued so he can go size them here to avoid getting the wrong size? He is up or down a half size and id rather know. I need book info ty

Do it bro it will benefit you and you family. There are so many benefits for you and you family. Just make sure you wife it ok with and and understand you could be gone for months at a time.

How did it go?
My son ships out to bootcamp February 2nd 2022. His recruiter and MEPS has him leaving to A school 12 days after graduation in Pensacola Florida. We live in Jacksonville Florida. So does that mean he can come home after graduation before we take him to Pensacola?
In his situation since Jacksonville is close to Pensacola he may get to come home after bootcamp. But in most situations you won’t get to come home until after A school.

A schools typically allow students to go on annual leave either two weeks for Christmas or two weeks for New Years Eve.

You know. I scored well on my asvab. Passed medical and was put on hold for my tattoos. I had work done on my own time to meet the guidelines with my tattoos and was still put on hold. No one ever told me to do it, I put my faith into changing for the better yet remain passed over... all I wanted to do was serve my country.. I used a year of my life trying to conform as a civilian into the best new recruit I could become and here I sit to this day. I just don't understand. I tried. I legitimately tried for nothing. Thoughts?
The navy allows full sleeves. Says on the website so 🤷 you dont have anything offensive on ya do ya?
Nothing allowed on your face or head except for 1 small one only an inch for your neck.

Others might want to know how long is quarantine, when do they actually start boot camp, how often do they get to call home ( During Covid they call home more often ?). I don't how far you are on your journey but make sure you can run. Hardest and most important part is being able to pass the run. I recommend depending on how much time you have be able to run for 15-30 minutes without stopping or slowing before joining. It'll help a ton and make life so much more fun through bootcamp

You could. Idk how things are with covid now but in the past they could. They could bring you just about anything but I would ask for much due to lack of space in A school or on the ship. Just clothes and maybe your game system and laptop.

You can bring a little notebook for numbers and emails but they will make you mail home the extra underwear’s and bras.

I ship in 2 weeks, I can run a mile if I pace myself, with about a minute in planks and about 40 or so push ups, this’ll get me in extra pt I’m sure but I keep hearing the last one is the one that matters the most, is that true?
Yes the last pt test in bootcamp if you fail it you won’t graduate.

Hi there. I'm a spouse of a late Navy retired sailor and all and I do mean all that this man has told you is spot on. Please take his advice and you will not regret it. I am in no means connected with this man but the book he is promoting should be included in the things that they give you at boot camp. Very few sailors who get out of basic know diddly squat about money and how to handle it. Be smart get the book. It will serve you well. Thank you sir for this video it is very important.
