If you fail the initial fitness test will they send you home?
and is the initial test the 1.5 miles or pacer

i’ve never heard of them sending someone home for failing. if anything you will get asmoed. the very first one is a mock one and doesn’t count it was a pacer. then the next ones are the 1.5 mile. i recommend u study before you get there because it’s a lot to learn under a stressful environment and if u answer something wrong they can beat u for it 😭
I go in may 8th for bootcamp the only thing im scared about is the push ups....i have no upperbody strength at all. I literally cant do one push up.
i could barely do any going in too. you working out as well as getting beat. you will be able to do them by the time you take the opfa

Hey girl.I ship out for boot camp 5/6 I’m a bit nervous ahhh but I’m also super excited and ready for this new chapter in life. I do have a question for you. I do plan on bringing like a small notebook for addresses,make up maybe some edge control and a small thing of mouth wash…. At what point will you be able to bring it to you rack to fit it in you drawer? Like I want to make sure I don’t get confused and it put it in my box to put away til after boot camp . Can I just sit it to the side or do I let them know like hey this is my stuff I plan to you later I need this.
depending on your RDCs doing your edges are not allowed unless you’re brushing them straight back. but night of arrival you put all the stuff you don’t want to keep with you in your box. i had makeup in my a&b drawer for all of bootcamp until i got to use it for pictures/ graduation
You’re talking about passing test 1 & 2. What test are you exactly talking about that we have to pass??
you will have classes. you will get all the answers you just have to study. if you fail you can get asmoed. all you need is a 3.5 / 5.0 . but ofc you wanna get the highest score you can.

I have so many questions so..... I'd like to apologize 😭😭
1.) What do we say when we don't know the answer to something? (Cuz wen I was in rotc we'd say "this cadet does not know but will soon find out sir/ma'am) 😭
2.) Can we bring mini perfume/oil perfumes that are small? Or is that not allowed?
3.) When would be the best time to take your hair out? cuz I'm going to bootcamp with my hair freshly braided 😭 and after that swim I know it's guna stink loll
4.) Are we allowed to bring wipes for cleaning yourself up when on your menstrual cycle? Or will they throw that away?
5.) Can we bring shower shoes for the shower?
6.) I should've asked this in the beginning lol but how many clothes should we bring for like the first week or until they give us the clothes were guna be wearing for the rest of bootcamp? Like a week's worth or 2 week's worth???
7.) And lastly, how does laundry work? Lol like I heard we put our clothes in a bag and that's how they wash them? Idk loll 😭😭😭

I leave March 5th I'm nervous but also excited 😭😭
1) for inspections if you don’t know the answer. literally say anything confidently.
There’s a chance they won’t give you a hit. better than saying i don’t know.
2) don’t bring any perfumes or scented lotions it will draw unnecessary attention to you. they might make you throw it away.
3) during evening routine ask for scissors. you have to take it down doing your own time. so when you tap. (bed time)
4) yes you can bring wipes just keep them in your A&B drawer.
5) they give you shower shoes
6) don’t bring any extra clothes. as soon as you get there you will change into clothes they give you.
7) you will put everything that’s not stamped into knit bags everyone’s stuff will get washed together. once it’s stamped you don’t have to use the bag.

only once for the swim test. if you don’t pass you have to go back almost every day until you do

i really don’t know how to answer this. i know they make all the males shave like they don’t have a choice. but some do get “no shave chits” to allow them to grow it if they get bumps easy. if you wanted to shave you definitely would have time to just wake up before everyone else. if you get cruel RDCs they might pick on you but i feel like they would say nothing

Hey I’m planning on joining the navy reserve, I wondering what you can tell me about about your experience in navy boot camp vaccine process. Did you have to get the Covid 19 shot? That’s the one shot that I wouldn’t want to get if I was to join. Ik once you join the military and sign that contract you are no longer your own person. You become property of the the govt
the covid vaccine wasn’t even available for us to get even if we wanted it. i’m not vaccinated by choice so that was good for me. i would ask your recruiter just incase but i don’t think they are gonna bring it back or make it mandatory
@justchris2583, the COVID-19 shot is no longer mandated throughout the military (Nov 2021) 👍

I have a question, I don't know my recruits ship or divison, he said he would mail me a letter first but its been like two weeks, should I keep waiting? How long do letters take to send out? I know bootcamp is tough and I really want to help motivate him :(
yes keep waiting it’s on its way! all that information will be in the letter it just takes a while for the mail to get to you. once u get it you can sign up to send sandbox letters imo those ship faster and u can choose pictures off your phone to send with the letter! hope this helps 🩷

I go to boot camp on May 29th as an LS. Because I had enough college credits I’m going in as an e-3. It’s too bad I partied too much in school and didn’t graduate or else I’d go officer instead of enlisted
you can always finish your degree and submit an officer package go from enlisted to officer.

Are cigarettes 🚬 ok during tech school in the Navy? I read vape isn't allowed which is fine . I'm interested in joining, but after I graduated Lake Tahoe Community College I got Poriasis skin condition. I read online I may or may not get a waiver for Poriasis. May take me awhile longer than others but I'm willing to try. Any info on Cigarettes please would be helpful❤❤❤
here we’re not allowed to vape or smoke . tobacco is not allowed whatsoever. once you get into the fleet no one cares. talk to a recruiter about your psoriasis idk about that. hope i was able to help 🩷

I go to bootcamp next month. I am pretty excited but nervous because i will start as an e3, but i am not up to the standards i want to be, and i dont know of being retained will take my opportunity away to become an e3 after bct
if you’re going in as an e3 they can’t demote you. even if you do really bad. you will graduate as an e3 dw

you will be fine as long as you do what you’re told. also be prepared to lose sleep. if the navy can take anything from you it’s your sleep 😭

you can have braids and twist !! just make sure you can put it in a decent bun. if it’s too big they will say something. if you have a under cut just wear your bun so it’s not super noticeable

honestly i forgot it might be like twice a week. it’s sustained runs so you run at ur own pace for like 20 mins. or it might be a walk, jog, sprint

@jenniemuse345, go to a running store and be properly fitted for a pair of running shoes. It makes a huge difference.
Gradually build up the distance you run; do a walk, sprint, walk, sprint, etc. If possible, be able to run 2-miles before you ship, so you know the actual 1.5-miles is a piece of cake 👍

They have a store on the base but you don’t go there often so bring some of your own

you’re not allowed to wear makeup unless it’s for pictures and graduation. plus getting beat will make you sweat that off. it’s not that serious so i wouldn’t wear it if i were you 🩷

dep test is just a basically navy knowledge test. your recruiter should give you what to study

i know for sure they get your blood pressure but heart rate might pop up on the screen too

@@MmapulitaInChicago let your recruiter know of any college credits/ degrees that you have. it can advance you to the next pay grade. up to E-3. At the airport there’s gonna be someone asking if any has any experience with instruments/ singing or drill. you will be placed in the 900s division which are preforming divisions that preform at everyone’s graduation.

yes but it’s not super common there’s a lot of corpsman that don’t go on ships in their career
what made you choose navy over any other branch? I'm thinking between navy and airforce . My main interest is cybersecruity , have you heard anything about this rate in the navy?

i thought the navy seemed cool idk 😭 and i haven’t heard anything about a rate that does cybersecurity. i’m still in school so the only thing i know is my rate
The IT’s deal with that but they have an officer he’s the one that deals with most of the cybersecurity stuff but I’d recommend being an IT if that’s what you’re interested in
