What To Bring to Navy Boot Camp

- Boot Camp is one of the first steps toward your Navy career. It's important for you to know what to bring. In this video find out the do's and don'ts of packing, so your things don't get boxed up and sent back home.
For those leaving soon, you can pretty much bring anything...except phones and obvious stuff that you shouldn't bring. I'd recommend bringing your wallets, a few bucks cash, debit cards, address book (if you're bad at remembering stuff) and oh, bring a few small pictures if you want too. it'll help out in the long run
lose the weight you can do it I lost 70 pounds to sign up leaving for great lakes in may its tough but if you put your mind to it you can do it
Another great thing to bring is the knowledge of the navy before you join and if possible knowledge of the rating you hope to get into. I am not yet in but by talking to people who have served honorably in the navy it has helped me prepare and plan for when I do sign that contract at the recruiters office. Research is key to seeing what job you want and whether or not the military is right for you.

The best thing to bring to boot camp is nothing absolutely nothing, they'll provide you with everything you will need.
Including shampoo, underwear.... ?
@@nahanng7791 Nothing but the clothes on your back, less than 24hrs you’ll have underwear, shampoo even a toothbrush brush.

@@Campain-gz3kj I can speak English but since I'm not American born so it's obvious that I won't be as good as a native speaker. And they will ship me to bootcamp in March.

You will only be allowed to use your own personal glasses on certain occasions, like pics and graduation. Other than that,you have to wear the one's they issue you...they are not that bad, they have changed them, they are not as big anymore
They issue Gillette Fusion Razors. And i think Edge Shaving cream.

When I was there they would not let you have anything in glass bottles, plastic bottles or aerosol cans (with the exception of shaving lather) no straight razor blades either. No lighter fluid either.

I went through boot camp a couple months ago and this is not entirely accurate. You are allowed to bring your whole entire wallet one thing I would recommend is getting a reusable pair of earplugs because you don't get much sleep and you don't want to be kept awake by your shipmates snoring

we got edge brand shaving cream and mach3 turbo razors but you get all of 10 minutes if you are prone to bumps and it looks bad you can try getting a "no shave" chit it might be hard to get in recruit training but at another command you can do it.

That would be classic. They open up your pack to find a massive collection of only condoms.

What exactly qualifies as writing materials?
I have some Bibles at home that I use to study with more intensely. I have three in total. They are full sized from Old Testament to New Testament. I was wondering since this video says only a pocket Bible, after Boot camp am I allowed to have someone bring them to me or have them mailed to me?
Ask the recruiter but I don't think so, remember your only going to have enough room to store your uniforms and only a tiny drawer for personal items.

the hardest thing in boot camp for me won't be the excersize, it will be the makeup restrictions lol

I'm going in two months and I wanted to know what kind of blades and shaving cream do they offer, and how long do they give you to shave. I just want to avoid getting razor bumps, so I'm trying to get in the habit of shaving daily.

Are you required to bring current immunization records?
Nope, whether you're up to date with your immunizations or not everyone will get them again. When the corpsman asks if you're allergic to chickens and you say yes, he'll still give you the shot and tell you to sit over there. If you have a reaction someone will take care of you and put it in your records, then they will believe you next time.........well maybe they will.
you really dont need to bring anything -.- they give you everything on your first ditty bag issue.

Yes, but you won't need them, writing materials are provided as soon as you arrive. It's going to be taken out of your first pay check whether you want it or not.
dont bother with toiletries they will issue you all your shave stuff, i had to throw all of my stuff away at the airport.
