it's 2016 and this game doesn't have xray vision? must be low budget then. everybody knows a triple A title needs xray vision.
TDU1 was the best by far just because it had Bikes - in particular Triumphs , pretty sure both 1&2 had teleporting once you discovered the road though.
i play both to this day and yep!!!!
i also have a rambling vid on my channel of tdu1 4k ultra settings and in hardcore mode waxing poetic about days gone :/

From this video, it does look like Australia sometimes (only sometimes). Not enough Commodore utes/sedans driving around & no semi's trying to run you off the road. Thanks to all your ancestors mack, they really taught us a lesson :D. Glad to have you back m8.

2:18 had me rolling xD I have this on PC, and even though you have to battle some stuttering issues, I've really been enjoying it. I played 3 & 4 on 360, and while I love the track racing, having the Forza feel in an open world is definitely a nice change. I can't compare FH3 to Horizon 1 or 2, but I've been enjoying it.

In my opinion test drive unlimited was even better than tdu2. I don't give a damn about the "bad" graphics but the feeling was just on point.
TDU 2 was shit... TDU 1 was one of the best racers ever. Plus it was one of the first probably the first Open world racing game.
I liked tdu2 however it was not as good as tdu 1

I have been always a PS4 Player and lover of racing games. (Played games like Project Cars, NFS, The crew..)
Lately, I did something too crazy. I took all my money and bought an xbox one + forza horizon 3. One of the best choices of my life. Forza Horizon 3 is the best racing game I have played by far, for unlimited reasons. If you are doubtfull as I was, make some research and you will finish buying anything you need in order to play this incredible game.
Nice review mack, but I have to remind you. Its supposed to be a game, a car game. Not a life simulation based on cars. I have played some tdu2 and you cant even compare against forza at all, but I guess it just comes down to your preferences and you wanting ultra realistic games. Funny you drive a 30 year old ferrari using traction control and stabilty systems driving on arrows magically appearing infront of you at every corner though. I know you hate perk systems and shit, but in this game you dont have to use it at all, same with the rewind, turn it off and get a higher bonus. The only times you get cars in the game are from wheelspins, finding(stealing) old ass cars from random barns. You cant access cars wherever you want, if i havent missed something you can choose a car when starting a race and driving to your garaga at the festivals. It does not get delivered to your nearest checkpoint. You cant pay 10k to have it delivered, but if you hate driving you can pay 10k to teleport to your garage. You should have reviewed the half assed multiplayer, but good review

I find the rewind is useful when doing really long races as it saves having to restart the whole bloody race. You can always turn it off in the difficulty settings plus you earn more money by doing it.

My biggest gripe with TDU2 is the unnecessarily complicated DRM and the jagged roads that make cars bounce when going over hills or twisty roads. It just wasn't smooth enough.

Gave it the typical Mack treatment (all deserved) and then turned it around at the end with a WAB thumbs up. It is, after all, a game. Which is fun. The way this started off I didn't see that coming, but it makes sense.
Australia was still a colony. Your family could have gone there any time they wanted prior to Australia being developed.
Also the criminals were sent there to build up the colony, which wasn't the best experience considering there were no cities and dangerous creatures.

Agreed. This game is really fun. Very arcady, yet it doesn't compromise on the driving sim too much. Definitely worth buying, especially if it on sale.

Good review Mack. I do think though that getting the fast cars easily suits this type of game. It is set in this festival of speed that is about driving your bucket list of cars and having a grind system would ruin that a tad imo.
Must be cool for you that the game takes place where they drive on the same side of the road :)
The Crew has gotten pretty decent recently, btw so beyond graphics, FH3 isn't really worth it right now.

Looking to get into PC gaming and am thinking of getting arma 3 but is it still worth a buy
you can turn off the driving line and rewind and more. As well as make the driving more difficult. Also some cars you have to work for not everything can be done via wheelspins. Coming from a guy who has played over 80 hours of the game

I bought this on release, for pc, it had so many problems. It would only start up when it wanted to. I had a refund on it. Have they released any patches? I really wanted to play this.

For me, Test Drive Unlimited (the first one) is the last proper driving game. It's perfectly build for cruising around, without any annoying bullshit popping up on your screen. No attempt to make a story, none of that festival bullshit, no phonecalls. Just you and the car. Too bad, that today's games are focused on action driving.
action driving is as gay as it gets, but that's what the masses want right quick action and satisfaction with 0 depth (not that they would be smart enough to notice that lack of depth paying 60$ in the 1st place)
TDU1 is still my favorite racing game i have a 4k ultra hardcore mode vid on my channel if ya want
