- Tim has a large number of puzzles in his toy collection, and here he showcases just some of them.
Starting with Oskar's Maze - a puzzle that was originally made of plastic and is now made of metal, puzzling dice and Chinese Rings, an old puzzle made from Bakelite - a precursor to plastic, Tim's own Rubik's Cube - signed by Ernő Rubik himself, an amazing puzzle calculator where the keys remember which number they are supposed to be even though you can move them around, a magnetic puzzle that came from Freddie Laker who was more famous for pioneering the idea of a "no frills" airline business model in the 1960s which many companies have adopted in the years since then, an entanglement puzzle based around a pottery dragon, a Japanese puzzle based around 4 clear trays (or are they plates?) which can be both rotated and also stacked in different orders, a skill toy that can knot itself, a couple of German sliding block puzzles, a ball bearing maze that is especially good for travellers, three puzzles from Toyo Glass in Japan, the Swinging Swami puzzle (which came out in the 1980s), a couple of puzzles from the 'I Love, I Love' company in Belgium...
... and finally reveals the answer to a problem he sets at the beginning of the video. What is the purpose of the strange black object? - Zábava
He feels like my grandpa telling me stories of his childhood. I love just listening to this guy

Who wouldn't want him as a grandad?
He’s so innocent and nice as well like I want to meet this guy so badly right now

moepskie Have you found how to stop watching? I also need help. : (
moepskie I cant help but watch them just before I sleep, It's like a bed time story, until I realise Im still watching at 2AM and I have work at 7.
Glad I'm not the only one.
Tim met Rubik himself? That's incredible!
rubik was hungarian :)
He was? So is he no longer hungarian?
Liono liony He's still alive, and still Hungarian.
Yeah! That has to be really cool!
he is an old man he met everybody lol ^^
For the green rope one you just need to put it in your pocket for a few seconds and you have infinite knots. Works for my earplugs

It's so fitting that Tim met Mr. Rubik.
Definitely a conversation I would have liked to overhear

Has cube signed by Rubik. Channel doesn't even have a million subs. What is wrong with the internet? This man is awesome!
I think what is incredible is the fact that he has a Rubik's cube of which the box for the cube is signed by the man himself and he "thinks" that the box "might" be more impressive than the cube.
He's _almost_ at one million!
957k as of May 2019
1 million subs, sir, just as you've requested.
He's rather boring and its mostly teens online. But as the internet grows they'll appreciate simplicity and genuine love for whatever they (streamers and vloggers) do more than astonishment for views and controversy like most people love now.
@@engelbergmunoz3179 im a teen and i absolutely love his videos ;)
How does he remember all those toy inventors names almost 2 decades later? Amazing.
Preparation before the video maybe
He writes down information about each toy he buys and stores it with that toy. Then when he does the video he reads up on the info and then they make the video.
reverse Alzheimer’s
@@RussianTreeWrestler Oh that’s brilliant
@@frankthemonkey6175 that would make perfect sense the world couldn't handle Tim having Alzheimer's so he just..... remembers..... *ALL*
at 2 am, once you start one video you end up with a playlist of videos. Watching 1 and adding 3 more with false hope that you'll watch them all before bed. And repeat.
I did the same thing just at 4 am
Stephen Fabiano lmao
Still find myself in the same spot.
it's a loop and it's my turn again.

I think the people he asked had a really difficult time.
Wow Rubik was actually born in 1944. Its buffling to think that a name as iconic as Rubik, and a THE icon of puzzles is actually of recent....well...existence.
+Iraklis Pazios old ppl r still alive
+Iraklis Pazios
Well, we have Mr. Rubik, Steve Wozniak, Arthur C. Clark, and Tim berners- lee, just to name a few.
Three of those men sculpted the world as we know it today, pretty interesting if you ask me.
broshaman
But usually when a person shapes the world,he does it over the course of centuries, these people lived long enough to see their legacy becoming an already established symbol.
Iraklis Pazios It's amazing what technology does, and how fast it propagates and evolves. Just think, If Rubik had just been born 50 years earlier. We probably would've never known the rubiks cube.
+Iraklis Pazios I'm very buffled by that
It's incredible how Tim managed to preserve all of his toys
It really is fascinating
Nothing quite like drinking half a yard of ale and watching dear Tim peddle his wares...

You should buy one. If not on GI, OskarPuzzle sells them.
This is wonderful! I just recently discovered this channel and in my opinion, it is one of the best channels on CZcams. It is so interesting, entertaining, educational and original.
You can feel his genuine love for every single piece he collected in his videos, and he really enjoys sharing this love with his audience.
Tim is like everybodys favourite Grandpa, sharing his stories and magic tricks.
I rarely comment on videos, but I just wanted to say how much I love every single video I have seen so far. I think it is the first channel ever I've recommeded to my friends.
I also want to say thank you, for doing thess wonderful videos, please keep making them. You are great! By the way, you Britishness is just lovely!
Don't forget about the hehs
I've been watching since 2014 and I still love it!
"Rise of satanism"

Glad to see one of Oskar's old puzzles on here. I follow that brilliant man here on youtube, and love every puzzle he has ever shown.
I have a bunch of subs and if I had to pick my favorite channel, I would think about it for a bit, because I love all of my subs, but in the end, I would say this channel because Tim is not a CZcamsr. He has no qualities of a CZcamsr. He doesn't start the video by saying, "Hey everyone what's up! Tim here and I have some toys for you." And then he doesn't end it with begging to hit the like button and to sub. He just comes on here and talks about his favorite toys. I read an interview with him and he says that he was surprised by his CZcams following. THAT IS WHAT THEY SHOULD ALL BE LIKE! Put up quality content and then be pleasantly surprised that a few people like the videos. He also said that he is glad that another generation gets to view his toys and play with them over CZcams. That. is. how. you. make. CZcams. videos. You hear me?!
Tim isn't some super ADHD kid jacked up on Mountain Dew screaming into the camera. I like to juxtapose Tim's videos with Access Hollywood. My sister just got done watching it and it is fresh in my mind, and hopefully not for long. In that show, there's FIST PUMPING MUSIC BM! BM! BM! BM! YEAH YEAH HEY GUESS WHAT KANYE WEST DID TODAY! And then flashy graphics cutting to a shaky camera all ADHD'ed up and then the host speaking loudly about HEY KIM AND KANYE HAVE HONEYMOONS ALL THE TIME YIPPIE!
And then you have Tim sitting here calmly showing you some history in a British accent that makes me just ooze into my chair.
And I can make ADHD jokes because I have it.
threadysparrow You guys are just old farts. If you are tired of watching CZcamsrs, then just dont watch them...
luigishotu no.
luigishotu Strangely enough you sound like the old fart. "Bah humbug, if you don't like it, mutter mutter, go away, mutter mutter."
luigishotu I am going to continue to watch young CZcamsrs and then complain about them to older folks. I am tired of their music and the world must know.

I've never seen my grandpa or grandma but this guy still makes me feel like as if he's my grandpa, telling me stories about his past and I love it
Yeah, there was no way I was getting that one.
Tim's programs are always interesting & show the value of never losing our childlike sense of wonder & curiousity
Forget youtube drama this reminds me of my grandpa on my mum's side telling me stories of his different adventures at night sigh I miss those days
Tim has a *signed Rubik's cube box* ??????????
Yup my country is awsome isnt it?
Q. What does Tim do when he can't solve a Rubik Cube? A. Asks Mr Rubik to solve it for him.
@@marrrtin Even Rubik himself struggled to solve it (for many years at least)..
Ernie signs everything, it's not a rare signature
If I had to guess one person on the planet who knew Rubric himself, it would be Tim!
He reminds me of white Morgan freeman for some reason
+MCTurtleGames If his and Morgan Freemans voices were to combine, ever; it'd produce the Perfect Harmony of Calm logic and Intelligent frivolity. An age of playful clarity would be upon us. An age of galaxies and plastic toys.

I love this channel so much.
I do too, but I don't know exactly why, whether it's Tim or what Tim is showing

This channel is so relaxing, like this makes me feel just like when your best friend is showing you all of their toys when you visit their house for the first time
I swear this has GOT to be the most wholesome channel on yt
I would've said the umbrella dryer is for confusing people. But I guess you can put an umbrella in it as well :D
I love Tim’s little laugh at the end, it’s so calming, and especially sense I struggle with Crippling anxiety it’s so nice to sit back and listen to this nice man talk about his fun, and unique toys 🧸
wonderful, brilliant & clever are Tim's the most favorite words. Amazing.
I know I'm deathly late to this video, but that calculator that can read the buttons wherever they are on the board is absolutely fantastic. I audibly uttered "Wow!" when I saw that. What a fantastic little gimmick. That's something I shall certainly keep an eye open for to collect for my toy collection.
this man refuses to be bored
Rubic's cube with signed box. That is a true collector's piece! Thanks again for all your lovely gentle videos. A little bit of sanity in a cynical world and very soothing.
I bet this guy had the best show and tell back when he was in grade school.
I remember having a cylinder maze around the time when the 3rd episode of Star Wars came out, it was in the shape of a lightsaber and came in a cereal box
1:15 - ah yes, tim has collected all of the chance cubes from Watto
Another great, lengthy watch. Thanks Tim !

Holy crap. That vintage Rubik's cube with the box signed Ernő Rubik is so cool!
I love watching Tim show me his toy collection it's like talking with my grandfather
Tim: "This here is a Rubik's cube .... "
Me: **yawn** Even I have a Rubik's cube, Tim. That doesn't sound very interesting ....
Tim: "It's in the original Hungarian packaging ... "
Me: Well OK .... that makes it a bit more interesting, I guess ...
Tim: "And it's signed by Rubik himself"
Me: :-O :-O :-O
You sound like a pretentious jerk
@@FlowerKimonoCaptain Usually Tim has more obscure toys than a regular Rubik's cube. Turns out it was not a regular Rubik's cube after all.
LOVE that calculator
Am I the only one who watches these videos not just for the cool looking & sounding toys, but for the immense amounts of ASMR coming off of these videos?
Also, that cylindrical ball bearing puzzle is a fun one. I have a much smaller-scale version that was contained inside of a green, clear, plastic pin. It was fun to figure out during a long lecture or before a test when I had nothing better to do and couldn't look at my phone or anything like that.
It doesn’t matter what tim is showing me I will watch and enjoy it.

I thought it was a sex toy
I was right! I was like, "I have no idea what that thing is. My only guess is like, an umbrella holder or dryer thingie. But it's probably too small for that." Turns out that's exactly what it was! This has actually made my day.
I love how joyful and soft his voice is, it's so relaxing and calming I just can't stop watching!
Have had the privilege of meeting Tim on a number of occasions and even having dinner with him. His knowledge is amazing and he can entertain and educate even those least interested in puzzles. We need more people like Tim in the world.
Where can I obtain the sliding piece calculator?
+KasabianFan44 They are called Puzzlecal's they are on ebay for around $25-$30 from the two i've seen on there

I live in Hungary! I could read the Hungarian writing büvös kocka
Does Tim have all of these items on display at his house or are they just packed away in boxes?
They're all stored away in cases, all in numerical order.
Man these videos are always so calming to me , keep it up Tim !
I love the way there is a clear love for all his items he has a story for each and remembers where and when and how he got all of them

That Rubik's cube isn't actually standard (at least not now). The color pairs that are opposite should be green/blue, orange/red, and white/yellow. The clockwise pattern of colors as you look at a particular corner should be red, white, blue (also blue, orange, yellow).
Yes I was wondering if anyone would notice that!
That is the European and Asian color scheme.
Trevor Smith There is no "Asian" color scheme, although there is a Japanese scheme (the Chinese tend to favor the western color scheme). There is also no "European" color scheme, though there is a Western one, which was adopted by the US as well. That doesn't matter so much, though. The layout of the cube in the video is neither the Japanese nor the Western color scheme.
It's not even the same color scheme shown on the box. If you look, you can see that red is opposing green, but on the box red is adjacent to green. It's quite odd.
Falcrist So what does a real Rubik Cube look like?
planetX15 I actually described that in the main comment.
