United Kingdom
Registrace 9. 07. 2008
We collect unusual toys, and with a collection of over 20,000 (and rising!) that have been bought over the last 30 years, there is a wide variety of amazing things to share with you!
We don't do dolls! Our toys might have a fun or unusual mechanism, can be used to amaze or puzzle people, are a bit magical or maybe a bit scientific. Whatever the angle, they have to have something a bit 'special' about them.
Nearly all the toys you see here are from Tim's Toy Collection, and are no longer available in the shops. Many were bought 20 or even 30 years ago!
However we do have a small range of items that can be bought on-line. You can visit the Grand Illusions Toy Shop, www.grand-illusions.com

Magic Rabbits!

_________________________________________________________________
Rabbits. Often found in hats by magicians!
A miniature automaton by Angela and the late Laurence St Leger. Push the tiny wire, and the magician pulls a rabbit from the hat. Magic!
A wind up rabbit that skips... a rabbit optical illusion, with either 10 or 11 rabbits, depending on how you arrange the three pieces of card.... a wooden sculpture that shows a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat - but wait! - turn the sculpture 90 degrees and now the sculpture shows a giant rabbit pulling a tiny magician from a hat!!
One of Tim's 'cherished but perished' toys - a rabbit attached to a rubber bulb that allows you to make it hop along the table.
An automaton rabbit from TOMY, 30 or 40 years old by now. Push his/her right hand (paw?) to start the action. The rabbit is holding a large box. A present for someone? When you open the box you discover... the battery!
Finally, a company that Tim saw at a toy fair some 30 years ago but has not seen since, made elaborate boxes, with a 3D scene on the outside and another scene inside.

The Useless Machine!

Visit Tim's Toy Shop, at www.grand-illusions.com/ The Useless Machine, sometimes called the Leave me Alone Box, is a timeless classic, a device whose only function is to switch itself off! Tim also sometimes calls it the Energy Miser! It was invented in the 1950s by Marvin Minsky, co-founder of MIT. The science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke wrote, "There is something unspeakably sinister abou...
That doesn't look safe.
Random walk problem in one dimension, with equal probability of going left or right in each step. Therefore Bernoulli trials generating a binomial distribution, that in the limit of an infinite number of steps gives us the normal distribution. The issues with this toy is that the ball bearings interact with each other and the horizontal range is fixed.

is the audio balance more left or its just me?
Has tim ever done a bird themed video? I feel like he would have a lot of bird novelties
The second to last bunny looks very much like a Calico Critters (aka Sylvanian Family). Their little bow was so sweet!
My favorite part was seeing Tim's crazy hair.
I love the carving, that's bloody clever
"Perished but cherished" I would like that on my headstone.
amazing toys
Ehhhhhhh, Whats Up, Tim!😀
We had one that would say scuse me scuse me pardon me pardon me LET ME OUTTA HERE
Top hats were commonplace once upon a time. A top hat was made of rabbit. “Pull a rabbit out of a hat”
Rabbits from the Nile

Tim, I'm sure you could do a collab with some of the CZcams channels that do restorations.
That would be awesome to see!
Absolutely stunning! Thank you Tim!
Why Easter chucks but no Easter bunny 😂
Very good.
@3:30 no, no, not an egg, that's the RABBIT HOLE!
Tim, you silly rabbit.
🐰👍
When I die, and I hope I wake up in the clouds, theres is cool people everywhere, I look and see, Tim is sitting in the distance, waving me over, saying “heh, come check out my toy collection, and treat yourself to some Nile water”
Gerard's awesome, always nice to see him with tim.
I like to imagine this is where all toys in Toy Story eventually end up. Perished yet still Cherished by Tim. ☺️
This needs to be a movie ASAP.
@@non_complete Yeah, Toy Story 6- Perished but Cherished. Starring Tim Rowett as the Toy Collector!
I particularly like the carved rabbit pulling the magician out of the hat. In metaphorical terms, the world needs more of this kind of redress. 🌟👍
Heh. I wonder if that is where they came up with the idea of the Energizer bunny.
The missing area puzzle could be presented to children as "a group of rabbits, with the easter bunny hiding amongst them" and when you change the pieces it's revealed which one it was
🐇🐇🐇🐇
Wabbit 😂
true legend
Grandy Nice 🐇
Way passed the Easter Sunday for these rabbits but still fun since Tim presented them
2:09 - When you order the "Vanishing Leprechaun" puzzle from Temu... 🤔🤣
The disappearing bunnies was missed in Tim's earlier video titled "Tim's Disappearing Cigar Trick."
❤
I haven’t seen one of your videos since two weeks ago

Staggering Beauty
Lets hear it for Tim and Tesla the first brings us free fun the other wanted to give the world free electricity.
I'm happy to see my childhood again
The title should be, for the most part, of this video is "Old man plays with toys."
"surface tension" is the term. Not 'water skin' lol
A reccomendation for Grand Illusions: if you want to get the ASMR community back watching these, you have to get rid of the loud intro song
