- Tim's toy collection contains a number of items of cutlery. Not normally associated with toys, there are in fact many knives, forks or spoons that are either rather novel, or in some cases joke items. After all, you don't expect a humble teaspoon to play tricks on you, do you? But with Tim's collection, anything is possible!

I love the parts of the video where Tim attempts to come up with a scenario where someone would use some of the more impractical objects.
_oh dear_
Well, the "holey spoon" is a great diet aid - use it to eat, while limiting yourself to only soups, and watch the pounds melt right off!
I like the parts just afterwards where he says "or something", sighs slightly and puts it back in the pile of useless shite with an air of mounting existential horror.
That comment is fucking gold lol
"Perhaps you can clip it onto your tie when you go into the buffet"
How can a guy who's dedicated his life to jokes and novelty items be so incredibly relaxing to listen to?
Atma505 Look up ASMR. You may have it
DANGJOS You say that like it is a disease...lol. We all have it, to a certain extent. It isn't really something to "have," it just is. :3 ~ So, enjoy!
Canalave Maiden Unfortunately that isn't the case, at least not to my knowledge. I've asked someone before if they have ever felt it (I described the feeling briefly), and they said no. They told me they had trouble sleeping, which is why I suggested it. Many scientists don't even think ASMR exists, so I said "You may have it," meaning that the person may experience it. I didn't mean to make it sound like a disease.
DANGJOS xD hehe, I know... I was mainly kidding. I knew what you meant. Sorry to garner the wrong impression with my reply.
Really, though, I know some people say they don't get it at all... But there must be some tiny level to which we all experience some form of ASMR. At least, that is what I think.
Canalave Maiden Probably. and because it's so little they don't realize it
I get increasingly convinced Tims collection is so large it occupies all of Buckinghamshire.
He is the true Doctor Who
Buckinghamshire is only one of Tim’s possessions
I am not an English-speaking guy (I speak Portuguese), so I don't know the word for his "heh". But I must confess: everytime he 'hehs", I get a smile on my face. Tim remembers me my grandfather. What a charisma! If this guy has grandsons, they must be happy kids! God bless you, Tim.
The heh is like a toned down hah
é só uma onomatopeia, não tem tradução
Heh is right. :)
Sir, you are a philosopher
@@beniminxz9725 Claro que eu sei que é uma onomatopeia.
The spoon with clip is for coffee. You use the spoon to take out the ground bean and you use the clip to close the bag. So you always have your coffee spoon with the actual coffee. They make nice stainless steel ones now.
genius
It can also be used to clip onto the side of a plate at buffets to stop it sliding off when in conversation or when using your other hand to drink a glass of wine maybe.
*using his magical growing spoon tim forcibly partakes of my soup*
“Hmm yes nice”
Good comment...but why oh why the name? 🤣
The spoon/straw one would be really good for milkshakes. When they're too thick, you gotta scoop them, but hen once they melt a bit you can drink them.
I'm guessing it's for cereal.
also for slushies too
+RecklessInsomniac The straw/spoons are used for milkshakes, slushies, and have been prizes in cereal.
There are cheap throw away ones that come with shake and slush, Higher quality ones to buy. Trouble is, especially with cereal ones, is that the hole and tube make it into a dribble spoon.
+RecklessInsomniac I have a pair like that. They're also really good for Root Beer Floats.
I literally use it all the time for that and cereal and milk!
8:57 almost 3 years and not a single Tim's album released. Disappointed.
We'll have to settle for these bootleg jam sessions.
Astonishing.
And thank god for that.
Come and take me by the hand
Almost 8 years and I'm still disappointed
"You can eat it in your mouth" yep that sounds like a good place to start
Joeybean Games lol
What? You don't eat it in your fingers?
Joeybean Games ah yes, the floor is made of floor.
My mind is blown! I've been doing it wrong for years.....just think of the money I'll save on underwear.
Prefer the nose tbh
How did some of these not become incredibly popular?! No Dragons Den i expect...
Most of them were popular at one time or another, until people got bored and wanted something else. Being 56 myself, I've come across a lot of them. Some are even still out there. The telescope spoon, the knotted spoon, the straw spoon, the spoon with the hinge...
The vast majority of toys have a limited shelf life, if you’ll pardon the expression. I can only really think of a few timeless ones...The Rubiks Cube, LEGO...those are all I can come up with off the top
I would travel across the world to watch Tim perform with those spoons.
I can't wait for the album!
@2:17 "Let the terror-plane fly into it's mouth". Tim has seen some shit.
Tim did 9/11.
When asked about it, he responded "Heh."
You can bend the steel beams back when they're cold.
abudi hässs Mozlums
+U N wtf did you say about Muslims??
EsmirMirto lol
All of his videos give me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
Oddly enough, this was quite fun to watch. Didn't even notice it's 9 minutes long xD
He could read the phonebook and I would be amused I'm sure.
@@combedpubes For sure! I can just hear his voice in my head now "Mrs Ficklebaum 555-26514, what a lovely and extraordinary name! And a very nice phone number too."
😊 (yup, I went for the US film area code...)
just imagine this guy hosting a party.
He must be a blast at reunions
That spoon with a peg is to pug onto bowl so it doesn't slip in.
*peg not pug
+Mr. Q - iLoveQatar.net someone say "pugs"?
+Mr. Q - iLoveQatar.net I was thinking honey jar
Or out in my many instances lol
Isn't it designed to clip together bags of coffee or things that might spill that you need to use a spoon for?
The orange spoon is for clipping on the side of soup bowls so the spoon dosnt slip in to the soup.
Yep, he said basically this in an old video he had it in..he used a cup of tea. Guess his memory isn't serving him well.
***** Or you know, getting distracted with all the other spoons :P
@TheSilverDragon1 I like your profile pic
I feel like Tim's house would be amazing to visit.
Or maybe like Mr trebus's house lol
Actually, he keeps all his collections in suit cases, then probably puts them in some sort of garage or storage unit,
CriiRye I bet he keeps all the good stuff in cabinets lol
I just love the idea of a cute little Tim reading those magazines full of crazy joke objects with glee, thinking he wants to buy each and every one of them, having no idea when he's 70 he'll have a whole house full of toys and gadgets, his collection will be world famous, and he's gonna broadcast a program showing off his things to people all over the world. I'm sure his childhood self would be so proud of him.
What a wonderful edition. What a fine collection. What a man! As a designer my favourite part was the glimpse of the novelty catalogue.
I thought you said there were 3 uses for that spoon with a whole in it. I was expecting you to say that it's good for dipping in liquid soap and blowing bubbles. My Mum bought a spoon with a hole in it too except the hole was not as large. It was called "The Dieters Spoon"
Ha!
2:17 looks like he almost wanted to say terrorist
@jake lament your mom
@jake lament me cope? its you that needs to cope since you feel the need to bring it up on a irrelevant video
@jake lament yeah whatever you 4chan f*ck
why are these videos strangely addicting
Tim’s videos are calming and relaxing thanks to his soft-spoken voice and tone. The items he showcases are unique and most often things you have not seen before.
And I suppose the greatest quality that makes his videos so impossible to quit watching is his passion for his collecting hobby. He loves what he does, and we get to be a part of it thanks to this channel.
In this age of over-the-top yelling and action in CZcams and entertainment in general, it’s nice to take a break from all the fuss and sit down with Tim, indulging in his hobby.
His gentle tone and genuine interest in what he does makes the already interesting items he shows off that much more enjoyable to watch him play with.
I never thought I would be interested in a channel that reviews decades-old novelty items, but here I am, two days after discovering the channel, already having watched at _least_ 40 videos. These enthralling, relaxing ASMR-inducing videos are like a drug without any negative side effects, other than perhaps the fact that from now on, I probably will never be able to see something interesting in real life again without immediately going “Extraordinary!” with an English accent.
@immortal well said. I find Tim’s videos to be strangely relaxing as well.
@@immortalsun spot on mate! I've just found this too and it is a welcome pause in an ordinary life to enjoy his passion. I'm a tech'n'thingys geek, but the problem with many techies on CZcams is that many think we all want shouty, fast paced videos. This is brilliant or to use his words "Extraordinary nice" 😁👍
It’s gotta be Tim. He’s just a pleasant man
I very much enjoy these longer showcase videos. It's nice to see a whole themed collection all in one place! :)
Those spoons that lost their shape in the coffee are the same ones Uri Gellar uses to trick people into believing that he has divine powers.
Scam* he takes their money too
2:15, Tim almost said "terrorists".
9/11 flash back
Najey Rifai hahaha oh my god
Let the terrorists fly in.
it's so great to see him in these videos because you can see how passionate he is about these things and how he already had this fascination as a child and never let it go. he must be so happy to earn his money with it and share it with the world. hope he never stops!
He just seems like the happiest dude ever when he's showing off his collection.
anyone else remember getting the the light up spoons in cereal boxes as a kid?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how he makes a point to say "very clever" or "good joke item" after damn near everything
There was a very famous commercial for soup in Germany in which they used the knotted spoon. It really looks like a piece that could be connected to that commercial.
Cutlery from the Nile
I cannot believe that I just watched an almost 10 minute long video of the most pleasant old man talk about novel spoons.
I have no regrets. This was a wonderful choice.
the clippy spoon would attach to the side of a cup or bowl of soup, and keep the spoon from shifting/ falling in while you sip from it.
The spoon part at the end nd "aah" the most innocent and adorable thing...☺️☺️☺️
WOW a spoon changing from pale yellow to pale white what a MAGICAL color change
thank you tim the toy man for bringing the joy of this remarkable toy to my home
+harmsolidsnake Do you have and can you demonstrate anything that does even half as much? The spoons he shows are very similar to some folding ones that come with some self heating vending machine snacks. They are not meant to get a standing ovation. They come in a range of colors indicating different temperatures, some fairly close, hence the slight change in color. Activate the heating process, stick the spoon in, when it changes color it's just right. Some spoons will go through further color changes if left in longer or stuff gets hotter.
There were some similar stirring sticks in a chemistry set I had as a kid.
You call yourself an intellectual? Intellectualize before speaking. "insulted by popular culture and media." and yet here you are at a popular culture and media site. And doing the insulting yourself.
I suspect Tim didn't know their best feature: turning to a deep color in cold water -- dark yellow or dark pink-red. I've seen tumblers of pale pink thermochromic plastic that work this way. Fill one with cold water, and it looks like you've filled it with cherry juice.
maybe the clothes pin one is for scooping ground coffee beans ,and then clipping the bag closed
The clip spoon is a design from the 1900's when spoons would keep slipping into soup bowls. You clip it onto the bowl so it doesn't disappear.
This phenomenon is still happening to my cereal spoon to this day. I need one of those.
@@animula6908 I have used twist ties in the past to solve this problem, people looked at me funny, til they had milk covered fingers. :)
He tricked me...I thought he was going to talk about regular ol boring cutlery. Yet I was still going to watch!!😁😁
A gentleman bereft of contempt, dislike and condescension in his public discourse - there is hope yet for humanity's future :-) Thank you Tim 🙏
All one shot! Wow!
6:08 This may be the only man I wouldn't want to kill for this.
I love these because he's so British and proper but playing with silly toys. It's lovely.
i seriously never thought that there was someone else out there who collected a variety of random unique things for the sheer purpose that they are incredibly neat. I am super-motivated to start doing something with my wild collections. very very neat.
I think that spoon with the clip is for when your bowel is too big and you don't want your spoon to get submerged in shit.
I wonder why you eat shit in America!? I don't think it's good for health, so please stop it :/
Everything in America is shit. Even our vegetables are shit. There is no way to avoid shit.
I feel sorry for you man, my sincere condolences to you, your family and all of the citizens.
2:18 What's that? Let the terror in?
+Mrcantfapenough 9/11...
Fack was about to point it out XD dammit obama
allahu ackbar
Jet fuel can't melt spoons.
+Mrcantfapenough He almost slipped up and gave away the illuminati secrets. Oh dear.
"That's a joke item"
Thanks for letting me know, Tim
the entire time, all I could think was the Gallium Spoon. and Tim absolutely delivered. x3
Dat spoon solo doe...
Yes, what a delightful tune. I do agree.
why did i watch like 20 of those videos already? :-/
Welcome to the club. You think, i realy mean you THINK, you're gonna watch 1 video.... but nuh uh.... it more like 1 hour of videos :P
coz you are hooked like me
I watch them for the comments and the unintentional sexual innuendos. Something about watching an elderly, well spoken Englishmen playing with a device that bears a striking resemblance to a butt-plug is quite funny.
I've watched more, and I can tell you why. I really like this man, and the stuff he is showing, and the way he does it.
What an extraordinary thing
Hi Tim! You are absolutely delightful to watch. You have the most amazing collections. Thank you for sharing. :)
Tim is literaly showing us spoon fork and knife.
Us - facinating!
1:13 imagine defending yourself with that knife and it just casually bends as you try to slice the intruder
The spoon solo at the end!
I remember the spoon with the knot in it!
It used to belong to a commercial for a German soup company. In the TV Ad, people would prepare the soup, then try it with a spoon, and of course it tasted so good the spoon knotted itself up.
Didn't know those existed as actual, buyable items! Very nice find indeed.
Yes. Love coming home to a new video!
WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO
if you whent on a date and your date pulled out a telescopic fork and started eating yours
+GreenEyed “MrGreenEyes” There would definitely be a second date, I can tell you that much.
I'd start playing the spoons
If it was the other way around - if I took food off her plate - she would stop eating immediately and order something else. Nobody's allowed to touch her food, not even a child.
Simple answer. I would marry her. INSTANTLY!
i would do the same
All praise the Holy Spoon
Amen
Sylvester McCoy plays the spoons, too. Loving these little movies.
The spoon from Germany with the knot was part of a marketing campaign for a soup brand. In the tv comercials, the spoon formed a knot because the soup was so delicious.
"Open wide, here comes 9/11!"
9/11 is my birthday date...
MrDaim0n a little bit scary, huh?
no, not at all. i am not from america so i doesnot give a fcuk(if you know what i mean)
MrDaim0n soooo, all those people who died, you dont care?
MarkusParkus2000 It's called getting over it. There are people dying everyday in the middle east due to bomb blasts thanks to Al-Quida and Taliban while Americans are busy watching a little shitty pop star being arrested. Stop whining about something that happened more than 10 years ago, you have taken your damn revenge by screwing over the middle east.
sudden urge to go watch the Spoonman music video by Soundgarden...
HAHAHAH 2:16
"And it hopefully will open it's mouth and let the terror- err, aeroplane fly in."
9/11 joke?
budro im soo glad that im not the only one who noticed that- I thought I was an awful person, but I cant be that bad if there is more than one of us....
budro Noticed that as well.... Tim did 9/11?
***** Jet fuel can't melt steel memes.
I just went in the comments to say that 😂😂😂😂
+budro hahahahahahh he was going to say terrorist
The spoon with the clothes hanger is really nice if you string up a clothes line for washing your clothes, you can hang your dishes up to dry at the same time. No need for a dishrack or dishtowel.
But which is the best spoon to shoot black tar heroin with?
+bill smith The double sided one.. you can do heroin and feed your baby at the same time.
+SalvadorDali22 What a lovely idea.
+SalvadorDali22 Or visa versa
+SalvadorDali22 lol this had me dying, nice name btw
The telescoping one because yoi can steal a bit from your friend
2:01 that clown spoon would of scared the shit out of me if that went into my mouth......even now it would
I hate clowns too, not that I am scared of them but more just that they are not funny but try to be.
Clowns are so creepy!
Tim thank u for the videos! I bet everything in your home is amazing!!
I had the spoon clappers when I was a child! Fun to see!
Is there anything Tim doesn't collect?
And how does he store his vast collection?
+rofyle illegally bought islands with warehouses of course
Somewhere is a video about touring his place. He has truck loads of suitcases stacked everywhere.
Tons of suitcases marked by years
He probably stores everything in dead bodies of his enemies from times when he was a secret agent working for the government (nobody really knows which government).
i quite like the one that disappears into the cup of tea it seems like it would be a funny unexpected joke
I swear the whole time he was thinking, "I can't wait to get back to my clapping spoons."
There’s a special place in heaven reserved just for Tim full of trinkets, toys and 1950s children’s joke books
Better than Pewdiepie!
Everyone is better than him.
uaedriver But is everyone DOING better than him?
Isaiah Stevens
So is getting your testicles jammed in a car door.
ChickenPika I suffered severe nerve damage in my back once. It was so painful it made me physically vomit. That was a picnic compared to the suffering pewdiepie's videos cause me.
Everyone: be nice okay
*spoons rattling*
I love these little items. Thank you!
Oh Tim, your spoon playing skills are brilliant!
2:16
"let the fl... terr... airplane fly in"
Truly a Freudian slip.
i cant think of it, what were fl and terr supposed to mean?
I was expecting a gallium spoon to be in this one.
Yeah
+Mr.chang cooler I think the ones he showed are better than the gallium spoon. You don't have to recast the spoon, use the same one over and over. You can remove the spoon and just drink the tea. I think the 'joke' is just as funny, especially the disappearing one.
What’s that?
Tim you are such a genuinely lovely person. I enjoy every one of your videos. Thank you!
I can't exactly remember how i came across this guy on CZcams but he and his videos are so eccentric and entertaining to watch.
I think the spoon with the clip is to prevent the spoon from falling into a bowl when eating soup :D
***** thats the comment i´ve been looking for!
1:58 What tune is that? I swear I recognise it.
Edit: I think it's called It's A Small World After All.
I believe so! I forgot how much I love that lil song
Tim loves spooning people.
Tim is great. He's such a lovable person.
1:21 “Gales Of laughter they said”
Based on his experience it didn’t make anyone laugh...
Was he spoon-playing the main theme of Skyrim?:o
Close. "Spoonman" by Soundgarden.
Tim flexing on his musical spoon skillz on the last bit was wholesome ❤
I wouldnt find those artefacts in my whole life :) - Thanks Tim!
8:56 is that available on iTunes?
Haha what the hell is pale white?
Like in the song; A Whiter Shade of Pale. : )
Now my head hurts. I'm trying to decide if a whiter shade of pale is the same as a paler shade of white.
That's the color of the skin of a white American when His President decides one more brown or yellow country needs help to get rid of WMD or bad governance or a dictator.
At first I was unsure about a video on cutlery but then I could not stop watching it.

The Sip n Spoon is for your breakfast cornflakes. The straw is to prevent the indignity of upping the bowl to get the last of the milk, after you finished your cereal............??
didn't the musical spoon play its a small world
"Now lets move onto small children"
Sounds like a segue at a BBC staff party.
TheRhinehart86 Jimmy Saville approves of this comment, I'm sure.
Tim! the spoon with the cloths pin in the end can be used to clip onto the rim of your serial or soup bowl so that the spoon doesnt fall in! :)
I think the spoon with the clip is for soups. If you clip it on to the plate, it doesn‘t fall into the soup :)
I'm drunk. I enjoy your videos.
is that spoon with a knot from Maggi??
yes it is :D old german advertisement, maggi soups, make food so delicious that your spoon knots..
weird concept, but it became a trademark

The idea was that the soup is "unforgettable" :)
YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAH!!!
I love these lengthy, in-depth collection videos from Tim!
Its great to see so many ideas and scientific properties, especially that are totally new to me. Never heard of a rattleback before.
