    Hey bud next time on a brand new Rebuild Turn the car over with out the Ignition on so you build oil pressure ... or use a drill to prime the oil pump before hand aswell.... but keep going your doing great 🙂

    Power timing light off bottom fuse. Grnd to engine.
    Follow an engine breakin protocol first 500 miles.
    Use 20W50 Castrol Classic or Valvoline VR1 with ZDDP

    Don't forget it needs to break in so no revving it too high for 500 miles or so, good going before you know this will all be child's play to you...

    Mine also doesn't register oil pressure but in installing a new oil cooler I was able to bleed air out by using the starter motor so I think that could be a good sign. Congrats on your beautiful car btw

    Hell yeah migs you got it running man your great. I knew you could do it dont let anybody tell you couldn't fix it men cuz that's how I am and I fix on my on cars and family members.     Congratulations you did a fantastic job! MGs aren’t the fastest cars but they’re great fun to drive. Just remember to grease the front end, Three nipples on each side. I grease mine every time I change the oil, if you forget the kingpins will seize up, leading to costly front end repairs

    You can get power for your timing light right off of the fuse block.

    Great video, you need to run the engine a bit lean to break it in otherwise you will bore wash it and the rings won't seal.

    I use the positive lead on the back of the alternator and ground to a head bolt for the timing light.

    I wish you could have painted that engine because once you put it back in it’s annoying to say the least to take it back out and repaint it

    Congratulations boy, you did it .you got your first car motor rebuild to run .I would have original carbs rebuilt for it and put them back on,so it runs correctly..

    Using starter fluid to find vacuum leaks wont make it rev up it will bog it down cuz it makes it rich good video!!

    I know you made this video last year but that fuel filter is sooooo old and dirty that should've been changed after to put the new carb on.
