Can't thank you enough! I searched all over the internet for days until I put the right combination of words in to come across your video. I have been working on cars for 28 years and this had me stumped, I had all the same issues you did and spent 3 days messing with timing and carb adjustments. After watching your video I pulled my intake manifold and sure enough, gasket blown out and must have tightened it down to hard because one flange was cracked and another broke off. Everything was brand new so it never even occurred to me to check until I saw your video. Replaced my gasket and new intake manifold and BOOM started and idled better than the day it was born. Thank you again, I was on my last nerve with this car and now my excitement towards it has been renewed. Keep up the excellent videos and take care!

I loved my ‘71 B, same color as yours, inside and out. Drove it from rural western NY to SF when I was 21 back in 1977. Camped all the way across. Car made it no problem, although wanted more O2 in high elevations. Wishing you the same fun and adventure with yours!

Back in 2002 I was 20 years old and working at a car dealership, selling cars. Not too long after, I ended up buying a British racing green 1976 MGB roadster and would use it as my daily driver!! I did this for over two years.

Have you thought about joining the MG Car Club, this is the oldest car club in the world. You would get loads of helpful, time and money saving advice. The MG Owners Club is good too.

Sounds great, man! I'm a little surprised that you didn't replace the fuel filter, especially with how much stuff was in it. It works though, so oh well.

After owning a number of MGB's , I have never understood just why people try to better the thing when all they need to do to get a far better car is to buy a Sunbeam Alpine or a Tiger . You get the mods on a MG as standard on a Sunbeam , you also get quality engineering as standard rather than the archaic gearbox drive train of the MG . and dont even mention the cart sprung suspension on the thing . Buy a Sunbeam , you wont regret it and forget all about the MG
