In the interview, Mr. Ram addressed the main criticisms made of the BBC documentary, first by Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, and then by unidentified senior officials who were quoted by several of sunday’s newspapers. Of Mr. Bagchi who, without seeing the documentary, called it “a propaganda piece designed to push a particular discredited narrative” and accused it of “bias” and “lack of objectivity”, Mr. Ram said he’s made “a laughing stock” of himself. Mr. Ram added that clearly Mr. Bagchi has been pushed into this position by the government.

Did you even see the documentary? If you had, you would quickly realize that the whole documentary is based on eye witness accounts, but none of the eye-witnesses come in front of the camera. At the end, the only guy who comes in front of the camera is Jack straw who wasn't even in India at that time. How can we believe on hearsay accounts of eye witnesses? Also, hasn't Modi been tried umpteen times in the court of law. In the US, trying Modi twice for the same crime is called as "double jeopardy."

I am deeply honoured to have seen this and a few other interviews and shows conducted by yourself. Allowing me to belive that there is indeed some sanity albeit a little but still some truth , some true journalism, some proper anchors in India that still exist. Its a privilege to hear you, given what i have to compare it with. I.e simply outrageous, just outright bizarre journalism taking place in india. A breathe of fresh air if i may say , in a rather suffocating media environment that prevails over all the indian news outlets. Actually the documentary is great piece of investigating journalism. Every one should see it and ask the question who was responsible for this massacre in Gujarat in 2002 and the modi government failed to prevent the human massacre.
Anyone can tell by looking at those sting videos that it was all orchestrated by Ruling party with one person at the helm of it.
It is terrible journalism. He said, she said, kind of trope. Documentary made to incite communal tensions in India.
Not only who is responsible for the "massacre" but why it happened? what made this to happen? What all the things led this to happen? Still...more aspects are there...

As N.Ram himself says that banning this documentary is a self goal on the part of the Ruling Regime since it is going to rake up more controversy and in a way running away from the truth. If the Ruling Regime feel that they are right why is it that the Ex PM Vajpayjee had shown so much dissent and was very upset with the on going situation in Gujarath at that time. And further it is known that Advani who had come to the rescue of the then Gujarath CM otherwise things would have turned in a different way. Truth has a tendency to come up at the most unlikely of times and places at random. With the endorsement of a SC judge the leader had thought that he was finally able to put a seal of approval of all his wrongdoings during that period. However, that was not to be and now in his international meetings he will have to face unseemly questions from journalists and reporters. They might be prevented from doing so but then, truth always prevails.
We Indians are really blessed to have journalists like Karan Thaparji ,Ravish ji Ajit Anjum ji , Abhisar ji , Punya Prasoon Bajpai ji and many more names can be added here. we are blessed because they all know what happened to them whoever voiced against Modi in past. even then they raise their voice and show us the true journalism .
