A glimpse into how I added a PowerPole Micro to my Pelican Strike120 fishing kayak. See more of this kayak here; • Ultimate Inshore Fishi... You can follow my Facebook page here; lovekayak.fishing
I think this is your most intense build, one with the most ingenuity and the most useful/needed. I have to be honest with myself, as much as I'd love to have that add on, I'll probably never spend the effort. Nice job Marty.
I echo the comments about your craftsmanship, but it is your creative ideas for the modifications that are most impressive. Many thanks for the inspiration!
you're one of if not the most creative people I've ever come across. it amazes me just how much DIY projects that you can do. you've really got to know what you're doing and obviously you do
that's slick man! you definitely think outside the box. I like how you pay attention to the small details. I think that's what makes your builds so interesting. some things I would never think to do untill I see you do it and it such an obvious/functional detail. lol. like the metal trim. makes total sense but I would have never thought to do it myself.
Marty, thanks for making such good videos that are clean so I can watch them with my family. You may cuss like a sailor (kayaker?) off camera but you always are considerate here. So rare. Thanks.
Wow!!!! No doubt it is not for the average person. I actually understood completely what you were doing and have the tools. There is no way I would attempt that one. You did a fantastic job. Great attention to detail. Your ingenuity is amazing. Its one of those things that a company cannot make it cost effectively because so few people would spend the money for what you made. That is why I find myself making things for my boats. Extremely well done video and very nice job. I'm impressed!!!
why did it take half a dozen times of watching this to realize you were humming the Pinky and the Brain theme song while bending the aluminum? LOVE IT!
Love it, always drilling holes in your boats like the mad scientist you are. Plus it doesn't seem like any extra noticeable weight . Thumbs up from me.
Marty.....you REALLY like the tiki gods....so much so that you either purposely or subconsciously add them to everything! Around the minute mark and your cut out board with the PVC pipes already has a tiki god appearance! FYI...Love the channel and inspiration .....just bought 2 (wife & I) Ascend 128T kayaks and I'm dying to start modding them out and get on the waters. In short time our home waters will be Charleston SC....but hopefully we can load em up and check out your waters soon!
Marty, this was great. Your sense of style and creativity showed through on the project, it was a few steps away from becoming a piece of art like a TIKI, LOL . Also, you made it without a lot of big shop tools. thumbs up!!
There's a bunch of no screw hole anchor trolley designs on YT. But to be honest, it's two pad eyes either end of the yak. Nothing to worry about. Just make sure you use Stainless nuts and bolts with a silicone bead. You'll be fine.
I wish i had a sponsor from pelican like you. Im 13 and love kayak fishing i have a pelican soul 120. I live right on the water so I could launch from my backyard and fish it would be nice to have more than 1 kayak so I could fish with my friends and have a good time.
Truly a labor of love. No wonder you don't work for the mfgr. (your good ideas are too expensive for them) I bet your labor rate for this one modification outpaced the total cost of the entire kyak. Good job, GREAT VIDEO Especially loved to see you hired Alvin for the narration.
Lol the closest thing I did to this is I made my own topwater popper lure in my latest video, you really do some amazing work nice job with that whole setup!!
I do not know about the other plastic you mentioned, but Ram X has been around for decades on other boats, especially Coleman Canoes, Yaks etc. Very good construction, BTW! I have Roto-Molded yaks...4 of them, and doubt highly if they would be as flexible while heating as the Ram X looks! Great Vid, thanks!
I myself wouldn't have attempted that but I must say you are either crazy or very talented I say both by the way keep up with all classically cool videos , Awesome channel 👍
You need to start signing some nondisclosure agreements with Pelican. Then have them patent some of your builds like this one. They can build one that will fit on the kayak as a extra addition.
That pic of Einstein with a Think Different comment could have easily had your image. I can't believe you even thought of that much less craft it to perfection. Congrats on your creativity and ingenuity...should you ever want to sell that kayak and upgrade to something else...let me know.
Thank man! Really appreciate it!!! So well made! I wonder if this is a piece you can hand over to Pelican and they can laser measure it so it can be mass produced :)
I think this is your most intense build, one with the most ingenuity and the most useful/needed. I have to be honest with myself, as much as I'd love to have that add on, I'll probably never spend the effort. Nice job Marty.
Marty, you are a true craftsman and an artist! Great work!

Man you really know your stuff when it comes to these Boats and kayaks.excellent.job.

Marty, you do some amazing work!
love the speedy cartoon voices in the video!
wow you sure put a lot into that project!!! Insane woodworking skills bro...
Marty you are half genius and half crazy I love it. Nothing is impossible in your mind. Truly talented
Marty, you are one bad ass craftsman.
That was such an awesome build. Takes a lot of guts to cut into a brand new kayak.
If a kayak company took you on as a kayak accessory engineer, both you and company would make a lot of money.
Such amazing eye for detail and craftsmanship. You sir, are quite incredible!

The sped up humming really made this video. Thanks for the vid.
Just subscribed. You my friend are on another level when it comes to "rigging a kayak" lol
Great video. It's nice to see the work you put into customizing your boats. I appreciate your work and it's not even my kayak!
*Marty your fabrication-skills are outstanding :) your previous background in the building-industry is a big plus, too.*
What you do with simple tools puts me to shame. Very inspiring--thanks!
wow that is a pretty cool project. Great work.
Masterpiece! The creativity! I need to learn your craftsmanship! Indeed you are a perfectionist! It came out perfect my friend.
That was extremely well done! A day in the shop is second only to a day on the water. Cheers!
Again you amaze us with your amazing talent......TOTALLY BRILLIANT. !
Nice work Marty! I definitely enjoy watching the clip.
that's awesome workmanship, as usual! It's also a reason I got the Kaku Wahoo.... built in micro power pole mount!
I couldn't stop watching. Great job.
Your ideas and execution are excellent. Thank you.
why did it take half a dozen times of watching this to realize you were humming the Pinky and the Brain theme song while bending the aluminum? LOVE IT!
VERY well thought out and built
A lot of tidy work you have done!
Love it, always drilling holes in your boats like the mad scientist you are. Plus it doesn't seem like any extra noticeable weight . Thumbs up from me.

why you gotta post this now, Marty? now I cant go to bed until i watch it!
meanwhile, I'm over here, too afraid to put even an anchor trolley on my kayak.
I need a stake out pole, but I'm constantly like, "...nah, it'll never work"
There's a bunch of no screw hole anchor trolley designs on YT. But to be honest, it's two pad eyes either end of the yak. Nothing to worry about. Just make sure you use Stainless nuts and bolts with a silicone bead. You'll be fine.

Another great idea! You should find someone with a CnC machine and have him turn them out for you and sell them!

Mad skills. Impressive.
Excellent job
Good job mate👍👍👍
I love it bro! But in the future I recommend using Tightbond III to glue up the wood, it's exterior grade and it's an amazing product.
You certainly have a lot of patience, Marty! And from the sound of your voice, a lot of helium! Lol
Crazy engineering
You are getting close to 100,000 subs can't wait
Marty you are sooo close to having 100k subs. its been cool watching your channel grow!

why you melt the kayak if you can cut the wood ?
You work fast Marty.

A clever man, would like his talent
Nice modification
very innovative!
Well done
Absolute expert craftsmanship!
why didn't you scribe the top of it to the kayak instead of melting it?
man you're so close to 100,000 subs
Marty! What happened to the paddle board? I would love to see more videos of you and that board!
God I need something like this for my bass raider
