    PVC...the Big Kid's tinker toys!!! I make a firearms target stand out of PVC. Work well. Just make sure to fill the bottom with sand. I did the same thing to my kayak. I put a relief cut in the PVC prior to heating it. I also built a set of outriggers for fly fishing. I used the jumbo sized floaties for increased buoyancy. I also made a PVC frame for a mosquito net to go over my Army cot for when I am camping. Your beer bottle used to flare the rod holder? Genius!! Love your creative ways and thought process. Now go fishing and have some fun.

    Hey this is a great video DIY, and like you, I use a lot of pvc pipe for everything and what i learned is if you heat the pipe up to much it becomes very flimsy witch makes it flex to much with force. so as a tip heat it up a little less and it will be more pliable. Also i use a heat gun and it doest leave those bad burn marks. Hope this will help.

    you could attach the 1 1/2 PVC to a hand drill (make some kind of hub with a plumbers pressure test plug or something), get it spinning and apply the area needing to be reduced to a running belt sander......works pretty good at reducing diameters evenly.

      That's why it is very important to drink beer while doing this. Beer washes down the toxins and then you peee the toxins out destroying the eco system.

    Question Marty,
    Instead of using the angled coupling, couldn’t you heat up the pipe and put a little bend in it. I’ve seen people fill the pvc with sand before heating to prevent it from kinking.
    Just sayin’

    Hi Marty,
    Really enjoy your videos. One thing to be careful of when applying flames to the PVC pipe. I know from personal experience that it can put off some really toxic fumes during the heating and especially if it starts to turn black or burn. Just don't want to lose one of my favorite You Tube movie makers. You are the Man! Thanks for all you nice videos.
    John

    • @philhays2715

    • @doctorkayak
      @doctorkayak Před rokem

      I don't think Marty is going to reply to you Sean but your best bet is to shop around on Facecrack Market-place or Craig's thingamajig. $500 is right at the bottom limit of what you will find with a used kayak. Kayaking has become very popular so that drives up the prices too on both used and new yaks. Hope you find what you are after! If you are on Facecrack Marty has a channel there too called "Love Kayak Fishing".
