DIY Fishing Rod Holder

  • Last season I bought a vintage Mad River Canoe for trips. It became obvious pretty quickly I needed to add some things. Mainly a fishing rod holder. I made this DIY PVC Rod Holder and hit it with my own little razzle dazzle. It is clearly not an original idea as there are hundreds of videos on CZcams about them. I did do things a little different, but it is hard to credit channels that contributed to my take on it, because there are so many.
As you can see in the video, I did not end up using the T-Track to mount this holder. That was due to spotting some damage on my thwart. I needed to repair it anyway, so mounting it in the manner I did was hitting two birds with one stone. However, the T-Track came out awesome and will be used! I already have several other projects and mods planned so make sure you hit that like button, subscribe to the channel and ring the notification bell! Thanks for watching....see you outside!

Thanks. I've been dipping stuff for a while now so I figured why not this?

Neat idea ! Really cool how you used the spray cans with the bucket of water, and the dipping ! Cheers

Thanks buddy. Yeah I have been "hydro dipping". Stuff for a bit now. I started my side hustle with custom tumblers etc. Into knifemaking now. I went fishing the following day, yesterday, and used it. Cleaned house lol. 6 rainbows and one brownie. Kept 4, released the others.

Very creative I like diy projects and enjoy using pvc as it doesn't rot.

I can honestly say the shape of this rod holder works better for me personally than the other 3 name brand units I own. PVC is great for DIY stuff. It used to be a lot cheaper but still worth it depending on the project

  • @BushwhackerMountainCoTV

Awesome. Definitely handy and a cheaper way to do it!

Thank you! You can get some cheapies at Walmart but I literally had these items hanging around in a plumbing bucket!

@@projectknifehand yeah it’s definitely a good way to do it, especially if you have some laying around!

Yeah man it's a good idea for sure. It's too bad the price of PVC is so out of control. It used to make a good diy alternative. I made a video for diy fishing rod tubes/ kayak rack and one 10 foot section of 3 inch pipe is like 46 bucks.
