The very SECOND he started acting sweet, kind, and helpful I would've been suspicious of him.
Right?!
I love the lady playing his wife. What an actress. The looks the voice the energy. She must have been great in plays,
Carmen Matthews
She was in "The Twighlight Zone " and "Sounder".
the commas.. or the lack thereof.
I love her voice
I remember her from The Twilight Zone
Love reminiscing with everyone growing up in 50's-60's! Thanks and blessings for sharing those memories.🙏👏👍👍♥️🎥📺
That VHS tape is on its last legs.
😂
@@kimporter1744 And probably a 5th gen or more copy.
Never trust anyone making me hot chocolate in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Nope!
Yoli purpleflower I have to agree with you or nether would I trust someone making tea ☕ either 🙂 February 7,2021
No souffles either. And since auntie might not be hungry and tells the cook to 86 the souffle order, definitely don't eat any omelettes the next morning!
I make my own drinks.
@@thankthelord4536, I agree with that! 😆🤣
How true! Poisoned cocoa also plays a part in the episodes "The Paragon" and "Our Cook's a Treasure*!
This is how the tv really played back when. I had to watch programs just like this. Took me back.
Me too. Reception was pretty dubious way down on the southern border of Texas when the nearest tv stations were in San Antonio. I was a kid growing up in the 50s/early 60s and all the tv sets were B&W like the one this was recorded from; that was just as well because I imagine Hitchcock wasn't in color anyway.
No, it's not. This is a bad VHS tape.
Wow. Men used to slap women like it was okay to do....and the women acted like it was nothing. Had he slapped me like that, I would have buried him with his dog.
This is prior to the 2nd wave of the feminist movement.
@AMT At the time, women accepted it as normal.
😂😂😂
WHY hurt the dog too?
Not the dog’s fault he has an A-h🤬le owner 😏
😂😂😂. ME TOO.
My all-time favorite Alfred Hitchcock, no show of recent times comes even close to these shows in quality. They did such wonderful shows with such limited technology
These are such great movies. Got to love Alfred Hitchcock
This film is bouncing all over the place! Still good!
More Hitchcock please. Thanks
The director of this episode is Paul Henreid. He as also a great actor… he played Victor Lazlo in “Casablanca”
And starred with Bette Davis in Now, Voyager.
Beautiful video specially the pet so cute and loyal .excellent story
love how some actors are in different episodes such legends still one of my favourite shows
Annie sure was a cute pup!!🐕❤❤
I’ve never seen this one. It’s a pleasant surprise. Thank you for posting. You are awesome!
Well, that’s the creepiest episode ever.
I slapped the side of computer hoping it would stop picture jumping, it used to work on my TV!!
lol
Jimmy... try wrapping thee antennas in tin foil for better reception and try standing in different places holding thee antennas. 🤭 (one thing I DON'T miss about the good ol' days) 🤔
Ohhh, you said computer... whazzat?
The up loader is certainly giving us the accurate experience of black and white broadcast television.
@@spongemonkeysooz, my house was "modernized" by an "aerial, better known as an antenna" on the roof! Better than the "rabbit ears". Small drawback is dad had to climb up to the roof to adjust the dang thang while somebody had to stand below to tell-yell if the image was getting better! The 50's and early 60's were great to grow up in! Everyone please stay well and safe! Pax
Thanks for posting this I fell asleep last night before it was over. dont sweat all the nags on here we know it was the VCR that recorded it.
Written by Henry Slesar, who also scripted several good episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater.
Listen to this, but do not watch. The picture is too painful.
I would love to watch this video but it's jumping around so much so that it's messing with my eyes. Since I suffer from periodic seizures, I believe I'll have to pass on watching entirely. But a sincere thanks for the attempt at putting these great, old shows out here for all to enjoy!
I seen it before an it didn't do that the
Alfred Hitchcock runs on MeTV 1am every night plus there is a DVD collection.
Same here
Agreed
8-31-2022, it's jumping and flashing now. 🙁
I love this movie, but it's jumping to much, this man love his 🐕 more than he love his wife😭
It jumps around, reminds me of the TV we had as a kid.
What a creep. I love dogs but when you treat them better than your spouse there is a problem.
Very true! And all-too-common.
I love my cat's more than my partner 😸..wait a minute..I don't have a partner..oh I get it😺😅🤣
Not many people would survive a dose of 100 sleeping pills.
I don't remember the doctor or any other character for that matter, mentioning there was a prescription for 100 pills.
I did hospital made me drink charcoal or something made me 😷 sick still here I was only 18
I think if there were 100 pills she would have noticed the taste. Or the giant pile of pills in her cup.
I think the irony was supposed to be that by accidently killing himself he saved his wife's life. The neighbour who heard him fall would have called emergency services and they would have noticed that something was wrong with her as well. Perhaps they noticed the empty pill bottle in the kitchen and gave her an emetic such as charcoal.
I’d take my misses to the park but she knows the way back. Love your dogs 🐕😂😂
Oh NO! 😲 I would have to throw this husband out to go live with Annie. Or I would have to leave so I do not bury him with Annie. Husband is the real 🐕 DOG! Imagine the many psychos in that simpler time compared to NOW!
Was very happy to find this video (warts and all). Thank you for the upload. I think much of the 1950s/60s TV for general audiences was much more provocative and edgy and intelligent than what started to happen in the late 1970s, 80s and especially the 90s. "Prime Time" became so dumbed down, offensive and stupid as time went on. Not to mention the insufferable laugh tracks.
Give me a Hitchcock or Twilight Zone episode any day, and I'm up for it.
Hitchcock had Sealyhams. They appear with him in his cameo in The Birds.
I remember that cameo.
This is doing my eyes in
WOW !! That was great!!! Thank You!
LOVE the dog
I didn't see that slap in the face coming
yes, that was rare
😂😂😂ikr
This man was so selfish, he did not deserve his patient wife. He was so cold and uncaring about her needs. No, he did not deserve Annie or his wife, I feel for all women that are emotionally and psychologically abused by these manipulative partners who just use them as if they were servants of a lower class. 🤧😤 He got what he deserved in the end, I am glad wife survived, poor sweetheart.
How wouldest yewh like a cup of hot chocolate from my personal recipe ? ‘fore this, gimme yer very last, last, last kiss. It will help me remember thee, how such kind, intelligent yongë Ladye thou wert. Alas as they say : the best go first. What luck ye have !
Manipulation is NOT limited to gender.
@@othergary I totally agree, this can go both ways. 🫡
I was sympathetic toward the husband. 🧡🤗. You don't kill a guys dog.
Et alors connasse ? On ne t'a pas appris la politesse ? Pisseuse !
Thelma was a bit tongue tied….gotta spit out those words girl.
Good episode.
this makes me think of Pet Semetary a little
Great Story !!! 😊
Why not..
He deserves. Love
huh?
Clever show
Thanks for the upload❤
Love ❤ the 🐕. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer animals to people
I LOVE me some Carmen Mathews. She started in many AHP episodes, and was always great. This was not a Mathews favorite of mine, but nevertheless it's still a must see.
I like Carmen Matthews also. There are other must see episodes. The impossible dream another hitch presents, my personal favorite is static a twilight zone episode enjoy
Let' s get cracking.
Hello from Moscow.
What a vicious man .
He was a sicko all right.
Yes, he was horrible. His wife didn't care.
@@deannaadkins9212 I think his wife was so beaten down and intimidated that she was just thankful to make it through another day alive. It feels as if they had been married quite a while, did she not see warning signs sooner? His nasty side must have shown early on. But of course, in those days women were expected to suffer spousal abuse in silence.
Enjoyed.
What a SLUG :)!!!
I have the dishes in this video...omg
lucky lady
Old VHS format. Wish it was clear enough to watch. :(
I have a similar problem...thankfully I saw it on tv first
It wasn’t a good idea to get another dog just like the other one so soon after it died. He was still in mourning. He needed time to grieve before getting a new dog.
for him it would be good
obviously your statement doesn't apply in this case as he had already plotted to / attempted to kill his wife before he knew about the new dog.
When my sweet dog Gigi died of pancreatitis my heart was broken in a hundred pieces. I happened to be a volunteer at Humane Society and two days later I went there to bring home a dog to foster, I was so lonely. Someone had just brought a little brown stray dog and I brought her home. Of course, I was a "foster fail" and she really was such a comfort to me in my grief over Gigi. Had her for 7 years (she was an older dog); she was such a joy. Everyone is different. Some have to wait a while before they bring another dog home. For me, my Ginger was what I needed at that awful time.
@@elaineteeter9485 No one dies. All animals who have been loved by a person or another animal, most especially higher animals like dogs, are taken care of in heaven; we all have astral bodies as well as physical ones. The NDE's have identified beloved pets in the afterlife: a horse and a dog were seen in a field playing together. When they saw the NDE'er, they stopped to look. When they realized he was not the parent of either one, they went back to playing. You will be reunited with your pets in the next life. They are waiting for you; they never forget their loved ones. Grieve as long as you need. Then look forward, not back, at a time in the future when you will again live in love and happiness with your darlings.❤🐶

The first thing I would have mentioned after waking up was that my husband tried to kill me; not that I got him another dog! LOL WTH?!!
LOLLLLLLLLL that story was a hoot, ahahaaaaaaa
This is one of the best, but video and sound make it very hard to watch...😕
The volume is MUCH too low. Please turn it up.

So , beautiful movies 😍🤩👍
DREADFUL COPY.
better than yours
"...tried to pick her up but she weighed a ton..." uh huh!
but she had strength to dig a hole...
Great video quality.
I love my dog but some people treat their pooches like they are people. Like when they have birthday parties or buy them birthday cards. Yeah, because my dog knows he was born on January 17th and is a Capricorn. So is really a goat not a dog! lol
People should love their dogs -- as dogs, not 4 footed hairy humans. Appreciate the special qualities of the dog and don't ascribe abilities it can't have.
@@t.dickerson605, properly said, thank you! "shin kicker", more like dog kicker!

It is jumpy !!
Hope people don't stick their dawg goes outside in dawg houses anymore. "Dawg" houses are for spouses who have crossed the line !
This came up on my you tube suggested videos 🤣🤣🤣🤣 PROOF AI is alive and well. This happened to me, my husband is a jerk like this guy. Our dog died and he blamed me.... seriously weird.
This needs some serious restoration.
Smart TV
The low sound keeps me from watching many of these.
Wish we could get full episodes of alfredo hitchcock
Me too Kathy. We use to have them here a long time ago. Before CZcams made all these great channels delete them or reduce them to 10 minutes.
@@thomasanderson396 I watch it on the East Coast at 1:00 am on ME TV. Where do you live? I also just discovered another very old show called WAY OUT. It it like a cross between Alfred Hitchcock and Twilight Zone. Many, many old stars you will recognize with great 30 minute shows including the commercials 😊. Search on CZcams: "old TV show Way Out". I know you will find it. Let me know how you like it.;!!
@@dianalovescolors hey Diane how the heck are you doing? Enjoying your weekend so far I know I am hey isn't that a bummer about this half episodes of Alfred Hitchcock?
Omg I love it thank you Diane oh you are the one thank you again and have a good evening.
@@thomasanderson396 Thanks Thomas have a great weekend yourself. Did you find WAY OUT? Had you seen it before? I am enjoying these episodes so much! 🎃🎃🎃🎃 Especially, since it is almost Halloween! 👻👺☠️👾🎃
Maybe run an old tape through a good computer program/app to correct playback?
as a noob of a noob, can someone tell me why the video keeps stalling briefly, then keeps playing, and breaking up?? What about the technology back then was causing that.
The tape it’s copied from has been subsequently damaged......
This is my most favorite episode Alfred Hitchcock but every time I try to watch it the film is poor quality
Karma is a bitch.
..named Annie. (LMAO!)
I hope the dog was sitting next to the director during this filming.
I’ve never seen an episode where the quality is so jumpy. It’s an irritant ppl probably just had to put up with. But it’s a good episode nonetheless.
picture quality 1 out of 10 , a shame
Talk about a deceitful plan backfiring on ya!!! I love ❤ the hell out of my little Ms. K… but not to the point of losing reality & commit murder #woof
Oh, my gosh. I'm losing my hearing! Wait - jumpy screen? Maybe it's the danged uploader.
Glad to know the wife survived 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
good shows
When you put a dog higher in estimation than your own wife there's something deeply dark and disturbing about it.
It would have been more convincing jf he thought she’d killed the dog’.
Great episode!
Sorry sound too low.
I don't think 🤔 ive ever seen this one.
People grieve in different ways
This episode has credibility problems. First, 13 IS very old for a dog. It is ELDERLY for a dog and death is generally expected about that time. Second, you don't have to be a doctor to realize that an animal is not breathing. There was no reason to believe the wife buried that animal alive. People do get very strongly attached to their pets. People love their pets dearly. But they know that their pets are not immortal.
13 is old as hell , that’s like 91 in human years 😶 ..
@@karenoconnor4180 My Dad is 94 and very strong for his age. But, yes, a 13-year-old dog is an elderly dog.
Depends on dog breed.
The episode is plausible; the man was such a sick creepy character he'd fixate on an insane idea like that even if any normal person would know better.
HE'S GENE EVANS. LOOK IT UP.
This dude needs counseling till hes 103
This is tv at it's best self effacing, own up, respect the unknown openmindedly. May be surprised, pleasantly; or not....
We missed the end, to see him wake up inside the coffin underground.
Why was this recommend in my feed after my dog just passed away?! 😢
No se como hacen los norteamericanos para cenar tan tempranoooo😮
OMG
Had to turn off, too much video distortion.
She should have called the vet.
i believe she did call someone, i believe she called the vet but i'm not going to watch it again just to find out.
Can't stand 22 minutes of the screen jittering around like this - sorry.
