    It is very difficult to accept that your family member or friend has poor integrity and/or character. It is painful. You are involved with someone that isn't a good person. And you have to think of what you will say to your adult niece when she asks "Why didn't you say something to avoid me being in this situation?"

    The first caller's sister may not only be looking to open a card in her child's name but she may be using the callers credit without her knowledge. Caller has a credit score over 700 but gets declined as a co-signer for what should be a relatively small line of credit? She needs to pull her C/R from all three bureaus... she may not like what she sees.

    Parents using their kids names is way more common than people think. It’s very unfortunate that people bring kids into this world yet expect these kids to help them survive. They are depending on you and to make an adult problem apart of your child’s life is selfish and sinful.
    Like Michael Jackson said, “if you can’t feed your baby then don’t have a baby. And don’t think maybe, if you can’t feed your baby”

    I had a friend in her twenties who went to buy her first car, and that’s when she found out she had 15 collection accounts… cable, utility bills, medical bills, evictions… her mom had used her social security number for years. Her heart was broken.

  • @AllynHin
    @AllynHin Před 3 lety +9

    It doesn't matter what your credit score is. If your income isn't high enough, you won't get a CareCredit card. It isn't just for vet bills. It can be used for any medical needs for places that accept it. I'm not endorsing it, of course, because it is a credit card, but being denied isn't automatically about the credit score. The weird thing is, getting a credit card in her daughter's name, the daughter has no credit score, so she will probably only get a $300 limit, which won't pay for the emergency surgery.

    Mary’s husband is a respectable stay at home dad! He cooks, cleans, takes care of the kid, and has a part time job. If the roles were reversed everyone would be saying this 🙄

    • @pigpjs
      @pigpjs Před 3 lety +5

      That's what I was thinking. He works part time and taking care of their child allows her to work and provide. Going to school for a technical degree sounds great as long as this isn't one of many "dreams" he has had that he doesn't follow through on.
      Mary needs to work on figuring out exactly what is frustrating her about accepting parental help. Based on her quick comment that her husband won't combine financial accounts and that he started looking at things with his mom and not her, my theory is that she feels like his roommate and not his wife or mother of his child.

    My Mom refused to drive me to jobs, told me to stop applying to jobs because SHE wanted her max food stamps benefits. She stole portions of my first college refund check. I will never forgive her. OH and this was AFTER she managed to win a million dollars, wasted every last bit, and had to go bankrupt and give most of the stuff she got BACK because she didn’t buy them outright. I just couldn’t believe what I was experiencing as a child. I was so powerless and yet I WAS THE ONE wondering why we weren’t buying things outright. WHY are we not setting up savings accounts?!?
