The OG xbox music was genious for the time. Copy several music CDs to the HDD and make custom playlists across them. That you then could use on games that supported it like Forza that changed tunes for the menu or races itself. 360 did not do the custom list, but ofc had music you could copy and use. It even paused when cinematics were played. Sadly the Xbox one version of it, even with Spotify is not that smart as he plays music regardless of what happens in game. So IMO... that's one area where Xbox has gone backwards with each new console.

Because of the physical size: at the moment I live in another country and when time will come to go back home I can just throw it into my backpack and still have space for other stuff. And then I realised that it’s handy even now- I can easily carry my console to play with friends at their homes. Plus TV I use now isn’t good enough to get benefits of series X and it costs twice as much as S here, don’t see a point in paying that.

Well, it's because they couldn't meet demand, using their factories. So they went to unregulated factories to help make enough stock to meet the demand they were facing. Which lead to the poor production of the console, leading to the Red Ring.
Also, they got sued over this, and had to start repairing these outside of the warranty, which comes out of pocket.
I doubt Microsoft was happy with this situation. But it was the price they paid to make sure they could meet demand.

A month after I traded it in, another customer bought it & it red ringed on them.

I honestly can`t help but feel that the one s was done dirty a little bit... It`s true that it wasn`t a massive improvement in performance like the one x was, but it still did alot of things right... It was sleek, compact, was a really good price, was often on sale with game bundles (I bought my little brother`s 1tb one s bundled with 5 games, 2 controllers, and 3 months of gold for 250€, in christmas of 2018), it was available in upto 2tb form (which I have, and I have some 50 games installed, with over 200gb still free), it still had HDMI in (which I use with my switch, since I play on a monitor with no speakers and having my headphones plugged in the switch is impractical with my setup, I can use the xbox controller`s audio jack with no issues), and the one s still saw enough of a performance improvements to smooth out the experience of many games the og one struggled with, and I believe that many of the games the og one could only do 900p on, the one s targets 1080p (might be wrong though). I would have atleast given it a solid B, and maybe even an A...
Also, the series s absolutly deserves more respect than it gets, because even though the 500gb ssd (of which only 386gb is usable, ask me how I know) is really tight, and the lack of a disk drive is a bummer for those who don`t have an exclusively digital library, it is still a good value, and is the console that has truly brought next gen to the masses.... It is by far the cheapest next gen console, it is the most readily available (in my area both the series x and ps5 are still out of stock with the only way to get one for msrp being to order one and get on a waiting list), and since 4k monitors and tvs still aren`t that widespread, a 1080p console for less money makes perfect sense. The most disappointing thing about my series s is the lack of hdmi in though, which I had really taken for granted... Good thing I kept and still use my one s...

fun fact the main problem with the launch 360's (at least in the UK) was the cheap thermal paste that Microsoft used to cut costs on the first mass production, it was barely a thermal paste at all and was so bad that it would dry and solidify after maybe 10 - 30 hours of console use. this was causing overheating issues or "Hardware Malfunctions" which is what the 3 red lights error was or as it later become known as The Red Ring of Death.
i actually used to make a little bit of money on the side (£20 per console) taking my friends 360's apart and replacing the cheap paste with better quality stuff. 8 out of 10 times that would fix the issue. if not the thermal paste then the board had probably warped already or there was a problem with the power brick itself.
another fun thing i used to do which was especially helpful when rental stores like blockbuster were still about was to take the cover and the metal casing off the Xbox and remove the top of the cd drive, but first cut the circular magnet out of the top of the cd drive so you just have this small magnetic disc the sits on top of the game disc to hold in place when its being read. this can be used to bypass having multiple copies of a game if playing with siblings or for LAN parties. as once the game is installed on the hard drive and the game has been launched the disc will stop being read and you can just take the magnet off and put the disc into another console without issue, the game will still run perfectly as it only needed the disc read for booting up. my brother and i had a lot of good times playing multiplayer games in separate rooms with only one rented disc back in the day.

In terms of X tier, the original xbox, xbox 360, and xbox game pass are what I have on top. I think the Xbox 360 really helped introduced the video game market to indie games, but the indie games store was really fun. Truly the wild west of gaming because you could buy a development kit and sell your game right on the xbox 360. What was nice is that many of these indie game devs took advantage of the xbox avatars, and allowed you to play as them, and in some games, you could play with or against the avatars in your friendlist, which I really liked. What's crazy is that some of these devs were able to sell over a million copies. It was interesting times to say the least. Now, there was tons of shovel ware, but wade through the shit and finding the hidden gems was half the fun, and all indie games had playable demo so you could try before you buy. In fact, all games on xbox 360 arcade/indie games required demos.
