DON'T DO THAT.
You'll destroy the springed pins inside. They're lifted, so the glue will surround them and pull them out of alignment or bend them out. Use a small needle with a turned off phone, BUT BE GENTLE, or a brush.

in my opinion type c chargers get clogged so quickly and are so delicate that the only good move is to buy a magnetic charger tip for you're phone.
You ain’t supposed to poke the changing port with a needle. A wooden toothpick would be more ideal
@@hsvr Splinters. If the phone is off, and you don't jab the pogo pins, you're fine. That's why I said to be gentle. You can use the blunt end, if you're scared of scratching the plastic in the back. It's also flatter, which is nice.
Warning : Do not try this on a Type C or Micro USB port

Just use the SIM tray key that comes with the phone to carefully pick any debris out of the slot, works on lightning and usb c(just be extra careful to not scratch the connector in the socket).

I use a toothpick to clean ports. They're readily available, not metal so they don't scratch anything, nice point on the end for all the internal angles and after a few pokes the point bends over for hooking out the lint and stuff.
Then you can pick your teeth with it.
Now we need to see a close up of the torn pins and residual glue.

Okay so this can work very well if you do it right. You have to force the glue in for one. Then you have to make sure you use what is called low melt hot glue and a low melt hot glue gun. Hot melt gets hot enough to deform the charge port and can seriously mess up your charge port

Use the low temperature glue gun, the high temperature glue gun might genuinely damage a solder

I’d be worried about damaging the pins. They can handle light scraping but I don’t think they’ve exactly done extensive testing with binding something to a pin and yanking on it
I did this to my old phone and it completely worked.
I ended up selling my new phone and used my old phone for years with no further issues. I did get a case that covered the charging port hole so I wouldn't have to do this hack again.

Scalding hot glue right to the inside of your phone? Nah, I think I'm good.
I think you need the right glue. I think low temp glue should work better. And some Isopropanol for weaken it.
PSA you need to use a metal wire like in the og video; it helps stop the glue-glob from breaking off in your phone and helps the glue get down further.
But will the port work?

It's amazing how much debris can get into your charging port. I used the 20x zoom on my camera and it looked like a third world country in there.
Do not try this on phones with a type c port like the 15 Pro or any android
. it may pull ur charging port pin out if it is too sticky
While you're at it, use this lighter to check my propane tanks for leaks.
I mean you can, you have to be ready to cover the source of the flame spout to put it out, and there are more effective ways like just covering it with soapy water and looking for bubbles, but there's nothing inherently wrong with your method you just have to be a lot more careful.
