    DON'T DO THAT.
    You'll destroy the springed pins inside. They're lifted, so the glue will surround them and pull them out of alignment or bend them out. Use a small needle with a turned off phone, BUT BE GENTLE, or a brush.

      in my opinion type c chargers get clogged so quickly and are so delicate that the only good move is to buy a magnetic charger tip for you're phone.

      @@hsvr Splinters. If the phone is off, and you don't jab the pogo pins, you're fine. That's why I said to be gentle. You can use the blunt end, if you're scared of scratching the plastic in the back. It's also flatter, which is nice.

    Just use the SIM tray key that comes with the phone to carefully pick any debris out of the slot, works on lightning and usb c(just be extra careful to not scratch the connector in the socket).

    I use a toothpick to clean ports. They're readily available, not metal so they don't scratch anything, nice point on the end for all the internal angles and after a few pokes the point bends over for hooking out the lint and stuff.
    Then you can pick your teeth with it.

    Okay so this can work very well if you do it right. You have to force the glue in for one. Then you have to make sure you use what is called low melt hot glue and a low melt hot glue gun. Hot melt gets hot enough to deform the charge port and can seriously mess up your charge port

    I’d be worried about damaging the pins. They can handle light scraping but I don’t think they’ve exactly done extensive testing with binding something to a pin and yanking on it

    I did this to my old phone and it completely worked.
    I ended up selling my new phone and used my old phone for years with no further issues. I did get a case that covered the charging port hole so I wouldn't have to do this hack again.

    I think you need the right glue. I think low temp glue should work better. And some Isopropanol for weaken it.

    PSA you need to use a metal wire like in the og video; it helps stop the glue-glob from breaking off in your phone and helps the glue get down further.

      I mean you can, you have to be ready to cover the source of the flame spout to put it out, and there are more effective ways like just covering it with soapy water and looking for bubbles, but there's nothing inherently wrong with your method you just have to be a lot more careful.
