@Sweaty Sack thank you I actually was able to get a PS5 from Target, but then I sold it for $600 and a ps4 and PS2, I figured since I have never played ps4 before that the graphics couldn't be that much different from the ps5 plus games on the ps4 are super cheap compared to ps5, so I'm happy with my deal, I got the ps4 with games and 2 controllers basically for free plus $100, and I've been playing the ps4 lately and the graphics are incredible, all I've played so far is Until Dawn, but that's also the only game I care to play.
I found myself playing a more wide variety of games as well! The new generation of consoles is amazing
@@caylee3277 I'm a little late to the party but quick resume is a feature that when you leave a game, it saves immediately prior to when you left, so imagine jumping off a cliff closing out the game and going to a different one for hours and coming back. You resume right as you jumped off

Love my series x. I also love my one x too. I honestly didn’t think that there would be much difference. Boy how wrong I was. Loading/downloading times are insane, and quick resume is freaking incredible. So thankful for that bad boy

@@tito2turntgaming905 actually its pretty big. I had a One X and went to the Series S, and while the processor isnt "on paper" more powerful than the One X because its newer its way better. Its like the difference in having a more powerful older CPU and upgrading to a Ryzen processor in a newer one. Sure the specs might be as beefy as the old one but because its newer and better optimized it will be way faster.
@@tito2turntgaming905 Which is one of the main selling points of having that much power in a console. Load times and frame rates have been the main downfall of consoles for a long time due to their lack of power.
@@tito2turntgaming905 Actually the main difference is now games run at 60fps due to the much better CPU. Some games can run up to 120 fps. On the old xbox you get mostly 30 fps with some games at 60 fps but you sacrifice graphics quality.

GTA5 is not slow booting because of the loading times per say, its just their stupid match making and what not that make it take forever. Going from an regular harddrive to an SSD sometimes show no difference at all. I just got an NVME now, a fast one, and I bet I will not see a difference from my old SSD thats 1/5th the speed.
@@murdoch9106 same, i upgraded my ps4 pro on ssd too, but still the same, can't see diff, checked my network connection, it's 300mbps, but still the same. Pc is the same with m.2 too. Albeit story mode loads faster.

Footage and video doesn't support HDR. 🤦♂️
Especially since they didn't even adjust the camera exposure so the HDR monitor would appear brighter as one typically does when demoing HDR on SDR mediums.

To me, there's not a big difference between them, you have to really study the games up close to notice all that much. As a gamer and game developer for the past 30+ years, I remember when one generation to the next was so huge that they didn't even feel like the games were in the same era, anyone else remember those huge jumps? Think for example NES to SNES, PS One to PS2 or Sega Saturn to Dreamcast.

The One X is still a very relevant console as it does Native 4K on many games, even if it is a stable 30fps. And even some at 60fps, mostly MS titles. Digital Foundry even said graphical differences are very miniscule, and for the most part it would take a magnifying glass to spot the differences. Which is true since I've compared both side by side. When they get MUST HAVE next gen titles ONLY it'll probably be worth it. As of now the One X...AND Pro are just fine. On a 4K display.
Umm even when you made this comment, it wasn't true. There's a massive difference between Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox One X and Series X. And Microsoft Flight Simulator doesn't even run on the Xbox Series X.
Think I'll be skipping this gen. One X is still a great system. The games don't produce a big enough increase in quality to justify a new purchase.

Digital Foundry did a great video recently on how Series X is sheer bute forcing through all of these backwards compatability titles, not even utilising the low level API's of RDNA2. Assassin's Creed Unity at locked 60fps.

Final Fantasy XV does have a 60fps mode in menu, and the Series X actually hits that target consistently.
Even in Altissia? The game runs perfectly fine on my PC but in Altissia it would still drop frames even after lowering details.

I believe the variable refresh rate option depends on the display with g-sync. Is this lg oled g-sync compatible?

just put it on a decent speed hdd and it still runs perfectly fine. my 2tb wd black is snappy and quick, still no long loading times and its only 13% of the total storage

I thought let's give these next gen console's a shot
Best thing I ever did and WOW it's bliss switch on and game pretty much instantly and gaming at 4k @ high FPS on a 46 inch TV with full surround sound simply loving the simplicity the backwards compatibility and the awesome performance of the Xbox Series X.
Don't get me wrong I still like my pc thing but when you have a heavy workload a family a busy life in general gaming simplicity wins hands down Especially with this performance I can put my money to better uses than never ending chase of the PC world .
Thanks Microsoft great job and will save me a fortune in the long run.

That’s why I always hated PC gaming. Your setup will become outdated so quickly and then you’d have to adjust your graphic settings accordingly to each game to make sure the game runs smoothly with the best graphics. Consoles you don’t have to worry about any of that.

@@andreiarg Gamecube games still look pretty solid when I play them on my Wii, F-Zero looks better than MW3 on PS3. 8th gen has been pretty meh, as it is just a slight texture and resolution increase over 7th gen. 8th gen I'd consider skippable for be most part, I got my PS4 for $150 in 2017 and Gran Turismo Sport is still 1080p 60fps like GT5 and GT6 were on PS3, except GT5 could be played in 3D and the Go-Karts were so fun in 3D! Of course my life has been a mess and I have only had the time to complete one game on PS4, Just Cause 3 in December 2017, so I basically skipped 8th gen, even though I do have it, as I just haven't had the time to make use of it. :-(

I currently work with 14. Though, with how long it takes between me installing a game and playing it, I could go down to 4 or 5 easily. I probably could handle going all the way down to 2, the one I'm playing now and the one I plan to play next.

@@WaynePutterill That isn't going to take up much. From what I can find, the series s/x has 16GB of shared memory. So it will need at most 16GB per game put into quick restore.

1 TB is enough for me. I've PC gamed most of this gen and have functioned fine with a 500 GB SSD main drive, while sometimes needing to spill over to my 2nd 500 GB SSD storage drive. Only games I need to keep on are the games of service types and MP types, with the exception of a few campaigns that I like to come back to. He means the amount of input latency. He can basically completely move the analog stick to the side before the character responds on the screen. This is not at all the same as on PC where the mouse basically immediately inputs movement.
Not sure but the input lag looked pretty bad for it being on an OLED. Hope I'm just seeing things and it's not actually like that.

Doom has a stick deadzone setting so you won’t move until you push to a certain point with the stick so I can understand why he said it feels terrible you can turn it all the way to 0 if it’s not your kinda thing it’s more for people that have slight drifts on their sticks setting a deadzone means it won’t move by itself if you do have stick drift also latency + deadzone is a disaster

@@gebi151 This bothers me A little bit because my GOD brother built A PC I'm also A PC enthusiast and I have Series X. Only high end PC's beats Series X thats it which is less than 40 percent of the PC population most PC setups are on par or less than Series X. I get 4k 60 fps in most cases take Star Wars Survivor after patches I get around 70 fps with GI ray tracing at 1440p on my Series X A lot of PC's can't do that.

I have a 3060 (which most sources say is on par with/slightly stronger than a series x) i got this second hand for $400 AUD and you can possiblt find it cheaper. Thats half of the series x price over here, you can build a pc as strong if not stronger for a grand or just over that. Yes you’re paying more but you get to customise how you want the games look which consoles only offer strict graphics settings most of the time. Plus you can use your PC for hundreds of other things and games are way cheaper.
I can see why you enjoy your series x more and i used to have one too but I personally prefer the PC.

It was also good the point mentioned about external drives!! Because that has been a point of contention for me for some time. I literally have my entire game library stored on a 6 Tera external drive.
At present it takes up maybe 35% of my drive. But then again I have 117 games lol. Now to the good news at present the XOne-X does have pretty good transfer rates.
From the external drive to the internal drive. However games like Space Engineers, Monster Hunter FPS like fortnite don't run well. Your drive is constantly spinning up to try to keep up.
In an FPS game that is Death kill & not worth even a millisecond of your time lol. I'd be extremely curious what Series X Datarate is on those USB ports? 🤔 Because it's going to make a huge difference how your old games play here.
Seeing all these videos is making the wait for my Series X harder.

FF XV should be used in Lite mode for the higher framerates. I wonder why VRR was not available. On the OLED both 120Hz and VRR should work.
Probably is locked because of the preview software...or maybe they are using their own cable which is not 2.1 compliant...
Other reviewers had VRR unlocked and they used it with some games, I think it's his cable might not be 2.1 not sure

Pretty sure the hair artifacts on Series X around 7:20 was the TV’s smooth motion feature at work by inserting frames when the game is less than 60FPS. My Sony TV does this when Motion is set to Smooth.
Thing is with final fantasy xv why he doesn't have 60 fps is that he has to change it in settings from quality setting to performance, yes I do play it on 60 fps instead of 30 he just has to change the setting for it

Textures doesn't really affect performance, it's dependant on how much VRAM you have.

loli kawaii FF15 has a 60hz performance mode on console, as shown on Digital Foundry video so i’m not sure why he only showed the 4K 30fps mode.
Its locked to full 60fps on Series X the whole time while the One X hovers around 30-40fps.
that thing is just technical issue for me.. linus even need to see it really close to see the difference between two.. also when there's a lot of action, you probably more focus on gameplay than graphics..
You can get a external 5tb hard drive and download all your games there and just transfer them to your internal ssd, so you won’t waste your internet
