The odd collection of emotional cues in your outro have left me confused. You seemed almost giddy at the opportunity to use the phrase "I didn't mean to dump too much on you," with the grin at the open of the statement and the accentuated head movement on the "too much. . ." But also the subtle distancing during the "on ya today. ." And then the raised eyebrows followed by the glance to the left.
I feel like a conspiracy theorist now. [o_o]

If you're going to attempt to bring up some failed meme about 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what to eat for dinner, that's plain stupid. If you're going to attempt to reference a "pure" or "true" democracy, it has never existed anywhere in the world were every governmental decision is voted on by the masses.

This might sound bizarre, but for the first time in a while I’m hopeful. Fascism has come, and millions of Americans are spitting in its face. The protests didn’t go away, they’re getting bigger, AND staying peaceful. Local govts are saying “no”, even in unexpected places. We just gotta get the word out and people out in the streets.
It’s gonna get worse before it gets better, but WE CAN make it better.

The US may keep fascism at bay for now, however it's democratic system still is deeply flawed. Regardless of the outcome of the next election you lot will still be at the mercy of a ruling class. Unless that too is fixed it will return sooner or later.
The demonstrators in the US should stop focusing on specific issues and instead work to fix the broken democracy first. Without that any fix will be temporary, simply because your government will never represent 'We the people'.

He does that if he's really concerned. Anyway, being an essential worker means we do everything we can to make sure he stays healthy so we don't lose our house. So he requested that I reconsider or be quarentened in the garage for 14 days when I come home. I work from home and a my gear is upstairs. :(

As I started to get up there, the rush starts hitting, my hands gripped the wheel tighter and I could feel how every twitch of my tense muscles made the car move more and more the faster I went. Eventually I got to the point where I had to either loosen my grip, slow down or lose control.

Some smart people have said that conditions in the US more closely resemble the conditions before the French Revolution than anything else. Mainly the income dispairty/power disparity. So the French Revolution... The people rose up and overthrew the government, executed a bunch of tyrants and people who just happened to be in the way, then there was the Reign of Terror. More death during that. Then there was Napoleon, a military dictatorship. He's right when he says there's no guarantee that revolution ends well.

  • @raycope2086
    @raycope2086 Před 4 lety +8

You're absolutely right when you say it is "PR with violence."
In my experience, for what it's worth, from Belfast,Northern Ireland, both sides of the sectarian/political divide used the atrocities and the threat of atrocities to bolster their own positions.
The "Provisional IRA" only stopped because their entire organisation was riddled with agents and informers, plus the so=called "loyalist" paramilitaries were having more and more success in killing their people, but also innocent civilians who had no hatred in their hearts at all ( on both sides )
We, the people were finally given the choice to allow hundreds of serial killers back out on the streets with no fear of being arrested, and to add insult to injury, share government with them in positions of power.
Again I refer to both sides of the sectarian divide.
It is called "The Good Friday Agreement"by most people, but something else less dramatic by the suits of course.
There is no opposition as such allowed, like in any "normal "parliamentary system of government anywhere else, rather representatives of both" communities" ( another word that means nothing now ) share power.
Meanwhile, those serial killers, or most of them, are now effectively ruling the working class estates ( projects ) drug dealing, knee-capping, murdering and whatever else organised crime can come up with.
Flags draped from every lamp post on each side of the divide as marking territory, but pretending patriotism ( ring any bells ? )
Those who live in these areas, for the most part are forced to put up with it, otherwise they will, or their children will pay the price.
These thugs love to play " soldiers" and so give themselves glorious military titles and will on certain days ( 07/12 on loyalist side ) dress up in fatigues and take their photo-opportunities to impress
    younger and easily led minds.
In short, there is never any peace really.
It's just better than what went before.
Also,I nearly forgot, shadowy military outfits went around killing innocent civilians to provoke responses from the opposite side.
Nobody came out of that conflict wholly unscathed, either physically or emotionally.
Now they are talking about giving pensions to bombers or gunmen who were injured committing their heinous acts, all to assuage the bleeding-heart liberals, most of whom were not even born during it all. !
So I sincerely hope that your country does not reach the depths of depravity that mine did, for now almost everyone realises how utterly unnecessary it all was, and how tragic the loss we ALL suffered by losing so many bright hopes.
Check down your local library and look through a sadly very thick tome called "Lost Lives".
I cannot remember the two authors, and I can't remember where it is in my overcrowded library here at home.
It is not a book for "reading".
It is a detailed list of every murder and the circumstances in which it took place up to the ceasefire ( and some beyond if I remember rightly )
Harrowing, but a timely reminder what can happen when someone plays the " patriot" card.
    Just saying.

I cannot even tell you why I wanted to have it Sally.
Maybe just so I wouldn't forget those people, which of course is silly, for I never would.

And its not even just liberals that are upset, this goes against conservative values as well, and theyre generally all aboard anti government movements to begin with. The problem is the government is calling the average american a terrorist at this point, which doesnt work. Ontop of it never working abroad; the moment the government cracks down, the government loses. Every time. As was already stated and shown, in depth, and in the real world. Shit sucks, its uncomfortable, *But it works*. And, most importantly, the vast majority are already on their side. They agree. Would it be possible for all the protesters willing to be arrested to line up single file and walk with their hands up to the line and be arrested 1 by 1? It seems that would slowly overwhelm the feds in a peaceful way, and bring attention from the news!

When citizens are being physically restrained for exercising a constitutional right to ask for redress, and they are being beaten in the streets by unidentified mercenaries , Hell yes. I am a fan of the channel. I love your combination of research, humour, and passion. Seems to me that Trump has always felt inadequate. His plan is instinctive - to provoke reaction from people who mock or criticize. That's all. He's a little boy setting fires. He wants praise, but he won't get it from anyone who matters to him, so he'll take chaos and outrage. He'll burn it all down.
