Legality is not morality
Cough - Roger Stone - cough.
Just because he has the right to do it, doesn't mean that it's right.
@@timothyball3144 But also he's a multiple felon lol
Exactly. The underground railroad was illegal, hiding Jewish people in Nazi Germany was illegal.
@@Merlincat007 I was talking about Bunker Boy, but yes, Stone is still a convicted felon.
Especially when morally corrupt people make the laws for morally corrupt rich people.
I know my son wants to go back to school but this wouldn't be the first time I made a decision he didn’t like for his own good.
Right? We're their parents, not their pals; though it's cool when we get along, that's not the goal. 😊
As parents our job doesn't always make us popular lol
@Marc Ruffalo Is your name satire because the real Mark is your polar opposite. He's also the Hulk which is irrelevant but also supremely cool.
Here here
@Marc Ruffalo Covid 19 causes lasting life time damage to the body and that damage kills more and more "survivors" the longer time goes on meaning there is a nice slow death for the healthier people who catch it
There is no decisions to be made. There has to be no more covid 19 cases before schools will be safe
They're discussing our children over ZOOM, but they want us to send OUR children back to school.
RIGHT?!
Wow so true. That's crazy.
I wonder if Barron is going to school.
kinda like how miners took canaries into the mines, with the exception that miners doing so was based on science.
.
the canary was a VALUABLE item of PPE, and was monitored while they worked, if the bird started to look ill or fall over they got the hell out of the mine.
*our but yeah go off king.
Someone online said, "if you have to have remote meetings to discuss whether or not it's safe to reopen schools, it's not safe to reopen schools".
That is so true.
THIS also!
Now isn't this the truth...
It's almost like the government doesn't have our best interest at heart....almost....
Wait, what?!
Agreed. I truly believed there was an idea to destabilize and sow in seeds of fear and chaos to corral the people to their side. But situations got out of control too quickly and these individuals in power had no contingency plan whatsoever. So now their strategy is either ignore the fire or keep feeding it and hope for the best.
No joke

As a teacher, I’ve seen parents show more concern about a classroom outbreak of lice than over sending their children to class in the midst of this pandemic.
Patheticreally isn't it. You have my sympathy for being a teacher in the USA especially now.
Lice catches quick, it's awful & somewhat tramatic for certain kids. It also won't kill them & I don't understand those parents you're referencing.
Thank you for teaching the future. I wish you safety & support. 💜
Sad but true😔😔😔
And I’m sure those same parents are the ones who blame the teachers for everything and the kid can do no wrong
In the old days if a kid had lice they would shave off the hair and paint their scalp with a blue ointment. Maybe threaten to do that to any kid being sent to school. For their safety, of course! 🤣
Should you send your kids back to school?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Long answer with contextual information: Oh helllllllll nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

@Marc Ruffalo Are you living under a rock? Do you not know what has been going on in the world for the last 6 months? Covid-19 bad. Covid-19 kill people. The end.

Healthy people have died from this virus!

I feel like a general teacher's strike would remove the problem of having to choose, and send a strong message.
Most of them can't afford it cuz their husbands aren't working because of the pandemic
But I agree a strike Across America would send a message
Something all this has made me realize: tying health insurance to employment, not raising wages, encouraging student debt, destroying social safety nets, and busting unions is a great way to make a population so dependent on employment that they can't afford to protest.
Mass unemployment made significant protests possible for the first time in a while.
I think if we're going to talk strikes, might as well make it a general strike with the demands that Trump is removed from office. Not sure this country can survive till the election and then the following two months afterwards when Trump torches it in a rage.
@@jollyrodger5319 I get the sentiment but this is a weird generalization, I don't think all teachers have out of work husbands

Parents are LEGALLY responsible for their children until they're 18, not Trump not the governors and not the schools nor the teachers.
i get you but prove that when CPS shows up with the Truant officers saying your kids are supposed to be in school. That failing to send them to school is failing in your legal responsibility.
I can see this happening. Just waiting for it to start.
@@shawnr771 The UK government said that parents would be fined if they didn't send their children to school. There was a huge explosion of anger. The government backed down!!!
@@shawnr771 Not if everyone that is uncomfortable the least bit just doesn't do it...guess who wins? The parents. Every vote matters. Every move counts right now.
Not entirely true- when a government official ( particularly a teacher) feels that the health, welfare, safety, and civil rights of a child they can act in loco parentis (and are actually legally obligated to do so in many states) to safeguard that student. I believe it's something like "educators owe students in their custody a duty to anticipate foreseeable dangers and to take reasonable steps to protect those students from that danger."
This responsibility of care extends beyond the school or classroom. For example: teachers are mandatory reporters who must report signs or suspicions of abuse to authorities and can be held personally liable for not doing so.
@@shawnr771 It's actually termed "educational neglect" and the courts have determined it to be a form of neglect or abuse stemming from a violation of a child's civil rights that can result in the loss of parental rights.

See the fuckery is/was that THE WATER IS CLEAN!! AND THEREFORE SAFE TO DRINK!! But the fact remains the PIPES are the problem. So the clean/safe water is tainted once it is drawn through the piping. How often do they use trick-ish wording to absolve themselves of fault?
It's well known that the pipes in Flint and many other areas are poisoning the water. It's a simple (though, expensive) fix, why hasn't it happened years ago? Money has been allotted for this fix. Where has it gone? The corruption is SO real MG!

I’ve got a 15-year-old at home and I absolutely feel the same. I also come from a family with a lot of teachers, one of whom is older and in exceedingly poor health and another who’s young but immunocompromised. Neither of them wanted to go back-the older one in particular, who hasn’t been out of the house for any other reason since March and fears for her life each time she goes to work-but neither felt they had any choice (the former because she’s months from retirement and would lose her retirement otherwise and the latter because she’s just starting out and was previously struggling to find work).
Those in power at both the federal and state level have zero regard for human life, and it disgusts me that they have this sort of pull over the folks they were elected to represent.
If in doubt choose safety.
Keep it pointing in a safe direction, don't shoot at anything you're not trying to destroy, always assume there's liev ammo in it everywhere there possibly could be until you've checked and made sure for yourself that there really isn't, keep your fingers outside the trigger guard until you've acquired your target and remember not being able to see anyone downrange doesn't mean you can't hit anyone downrange.
Some people are too stupid to follow that advice. Some are even too stupid to wear a mask, maintain distance, wash their hands and keep their kids out of schools.
Always, safety of my kids comes first!
@@Sableagle That's one of the psychological disadvantages of having guns in a freaking Walmart. People assume that if it's off the shelf it is safe to use. Combine that with Might makes Right and you have a recipe for disaster. IDK how US should resolve this, but some level of competency should be expected of people. Or rather people should expect it of themselves and train. You don't buy a car and just drive home, if you've never operated one in your life and all you know is that steering wheel makes it turn. And rarely people who go and sit on a bicycle for a first time manage to go without falling. Everything needs some "training" or lessons. This applies to basically everything in life.

Hopefully Trump doesnt stop that from happening as well.
That’s true, however, Johns Hopkins also relies on official data.
In the UK we have taken the actual death-toll, which you get from the coroners, take away the expected death-toll (calculated from historical records) and assume the excess is Covid. It is more accurate than government figures.

We will be homeschooling this year. The last 2 years we had our children in public school after many years of homeschooling that was going well. The COVID issue has made it unsafe for our family as my wife's health has become a subject of concern and we can't afford for her to get it.
When did americans become so dependent on what the "government" says about everything?
I might be 65 now but I can remember when the "government's recommendations came from more than one source and were debated openly before becoming recommendations. Now they come out in the dark of night and are shoved down our throats with a hefty dose of fear behind them. What happened?
Corporate America is making your decisions for you now
The internet? They can sneak up on you when you're not looking!
I'm a little older than you. In the sixties we were going to change the world. Everyone I knew was devoted to fixing the problems. One day I noticed that I was the last one. Every one of the people around me had "grown up" and gone off in search of wealth and status. What did you do? Did you want a better world or did you want more and more and more for yourself? That's what happened. We are to blame!
Deregulation happened. The dumbing down of America happened. Are we going to all show up in Washington DC when the shit hits the fan in November? I am.
I am a few years older than you but I remember when science and education was cool and facts were important. When corporate America got hold of the news, that all changed.
Last night decided that even though school from home was a struggle... at least we can struggle if we are alive. We will homeschool and we are trying to get our research done to make a choice of which platform. Thank you Mitch, your thoughts are held in high esteem in our home. Listening to this message today took the nerves out of my gut going forward. I feel extra validated I guess.
I started this channel to help parents how to figure out short time homeschooling. I was a classroom teacher and have been homeschooling my 3 kids for 8 years
Thank you I will check this out!
Thank you I'm not a parent but I have nephew's & nice's pls listen to this man
Brother Beau, you are doing good work. Keep it up!
Some, perhaps a large percentage, of teachers may not be back. They don't get hazardous duty pay.
Or they might not survive! Many are preparing to die!

@earth ocean dude, teachers are salaried...
It's not a thought, it's a fact. Keep spreading the word man. It is appreciated.
I'm homeschooling 😏 there's that
I agree 200% and yes my kids are going to do classes online and that’s the only way and the best way right now
Why is it difficult? Because my 5 year old is autistic and the services, education and interaction she needs, and thanks to the stupid ass insurance laws here, can only get is from public school. These years between 3 and 6 are the most important for her to have any type of an independent life. I don't have the knowledge nor the training to be a speech therapist, occupation therapist and special ed teacher. Every part of me knows in her class is the best place for her. But I live in Oklahoma where people will fight for the right to carry a gun and fight to not have to wear a mask. A state where the governor told everyone to go out to their favorite restaurant and now he has Covid. So my choice is keep her home and watch her regress even further risking her mental and yes physical health or sending her to school and getting her back to the routine that sees her thriving at least a little and in doing so risk her physical health. No matter what decision I make, it is a risk to her. That's why it is a difficult decision.
I feel for you. Your decision really is different than most people's. Whatever you decide, please remember not to guilt yourself about it later, because you really don't have any truly good options. You are going to make the best decision you possibly can because you want the best for your daughter, but you don't have a crystal ball. Wishing your family all the best. ❤️
casprd33: What Lindsay said. I’m so sorry for you and your child, and I am so angry that this is happening to your child.
Appreciate everyone's thoughts and comments. If her situation were different it wouldn't be a tough decision at all.
casprd33 I feel your pain. These are like “Sophie’s Choice” kind of agonizing decisions.
Beau, I had to share this on on my FB timeline!
It cuts straight to the heart of what we all as parents/adults must consider most importantly for our children as well as this nation!! Thanks for posting this and continue to be safe!! 💕🙏🏾💕🙏🏾
The fact that people are needing to choose between essentials and health is just so frustrating.
Universal health care is as basic a human right as universal education!
More basic, really.
some of the kids prob want to go back, but you have to be the parent and make the right decision for the well being of your child- NO MATTER WHAT.
"There are lawyers in Florida giving teachers free wills" OMG Beau, you got me with that one! Yikes.
Hey family!
You hear that?
That's the little voice in your head telling you don't send your child to school.
LISTEN
A Powerful message. Thank you!!!!!
“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
I know the book you're quoting from but others may not.
Yes, that is where we are now. We are living the dystopian nightmare novel in real time.
Classic, and more germane than ever.
Why are there so many irrational people still following this administration?
Thank you for speaking so passionately about the decisions we as parents have to make. God Bless you Sir, and God Bless these United States of America🗳🌊🇺🇸
👍✌️🇺🇸 You are a Patriot. Thank you for your service.
I am fortunate enough to be able to say “No, my kids will stay home.” But I have no clue what to say to those who can’t stay home with their kids. If you have advice on that, please make a video that can be shared.
I think if parents know an adult they trust is not having to go out to work, maybe that adult could open their home to 4 or 5 kids. The kids would bring their tablets, would be safely supervised in a home school 'bubble' and the parents could go to work.
School being closed is not new, we do it every summer, every extended holiday break and even for things like hurricanes. That said, what is your typical plan during those times? Why is this any different? Work the plan you woujd normally use, the one you are using now as it’s summer time. Good luck to everyone, be well and stay safe.
@@cjbell7126 Then come home from work and give you the virus??? Sorry - not trying to be unhelpful - just super cautious!
It sure doesn't, when it's my children.
I heard this earlier today and I was wondering if you were going to cover this. You covered it way sooner than I expected.
Thank you for your time and efforts.😷
Thanks Beau, I appreciate what you do.
I know, I feel the same, I'm soooooo glad my kids are grown and I don't have to make that decision. THAT'S A HARD 1
Any advice for teachers? I am furious and sad and full of anxiety, but I can not lose my job. My kids see no point in staying home if I'm being exposed daily anyway.
Same here. 😢
I have no advice, but I feel your pain. I think teachers are way overworked and way underpaid, and it's a national disgrace.
I'm somewhat encouraged by the news of major school districts cancelling in-person classes around the country... I hope this movement grows to include your district. You deserve a safe workplace. You're, um, raising our next generation.
Do you have a union? Other teachers who feel as you do? Y'know, you're what we call frontline, essential...
Some of the big school districts have told Trump they are NOT reopening.
I found it poweful: In Florida lawyers provide free wills for teachers. - share, do not put up with that crap meekly. It is NOT normal that a first world country treats its citizens like that.
Ya'll have given me a great idea! Reading about the struggles of parents in the comments section inspires me. I teach at a community college, and because we are not returning to campus, enrollment is lower than usual. This means that I will likely have fewer classes and more time on my hands. I used to teach grades k-12, so I'll offer courses via Skype, or Zoom (I've learned how to teach via teleconference), based on parent/student needs. I'm not sure how to go about finding out what is most needed, but I'll get started ---- Beau has inspired me to be more responsible for my community at large, and to 'step up' when government fails us, more severely than usual.
---Edit: I am super open to suggestions about how to get started.
Exactly. They care about being re-elected. Don’t loose your loved ones for their jobs
Always remember, a politician is always just some human you never met.
Let’s also stop blaming the governors to open up to go back to work when we need to be screaming from the top of the mountain for the federal government to give us some financial relief so we don’t have to risk our children’s lives
I feel like the company called "Safety 1st" would have sold a whole lot less of their products if they were called "We considered safety, but the government said it's all good."
There's a reason that "safety first" is a mantra that we all grew up hearing; nobody ever told me to be safe as long as it was convenient.
I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin'.
Sir, I had said this before, and I knew it is the right thing to say then and now: You are the epitome of "Rule 303" in the sense of doing the right thing for the betterment of life.
Have a great day all and by all means, make the right decision.
There is no doubt about that.
