Copper Mountain, CO: Excelerator lift

Built in 1998, this Poma Omega high-speed quad runs from the top of American Eagle to the top of Super Bee. It is a wicked fast lift, which is why I nickname it "The Accelerator," and it has great trails for lapping. There are 64 chairs and 11 towers. Estimated speed is 1050 fpm.

It's definitely running 1100 fpm in this video. Look at how much the chairs swing as they're whipped around the turn at the top.

I’ve seen some older videos of the lift at full speed, and it’s almost running at full speed in this clip. I timed the ride at 3 minutes, and the chairs really do swing at the top.
