This is the upper section of the base-to-summit Wild Blue Gondola, added in summer 2023 for Phase 3 of the Full Steam Ahead project. The top of this section sits right next to the top of Sundown and Sunshine Expresses. This is also the faster of the two sections, designed to run at 1378 fpm (7 m/s) because this section is nearly 3 times as long as the first section, at 12243 feet long. This section has 27 towers, totaling to 37 conical towers for the whole system. This section also has the largest direct drive in the world, featuring a massive 68,000-lb six-ring Doppelmayr Direct Drive at the bottom. The lift crosses over two lifts: Thunderhead Express after passing by Greenhorn Ranch, and Burgess Creek about halfway up. The lift briefly descends down before entering the top terminal to provide clearance for cabins crossing over the traverse to Storm Peak. Estimated speed in this recording is 1164 fpm.

Design speed 7 m/S, WOW! Never heard of a 7 m/s lift but makes sense for a gondola that long.
Yessir! Plenty of 7 m/s gondolas in Europe, so this isn’t necessarily new, but new to us.
I think I'll stick to taking the slower chairlift route (Christie Peak to Thunderhead to Sundown/Storm Peak).

One of the fastest yes, but not the fastest. Some trams have the ability to run at 8 or 10 MPS. The Lone Peak tram at Big Sky Montana can run at 2,000 feet per minute which is 10.16 meters per second, and the tram at Jay Peak Vermont can run at 10 even.

No, it’s mainly a real estate access lift, so I saw no reason to ride it.
A new lift is coming to Lone Mountain's north side-Madison 8, the resort’s second eight-place and third state-of-the-art D-line chairlift, will replace the existing Six-Shooter lift in the summer of 2024. Set to open in December 2024, Madison 8 will nearly double uphill capacity out of the Madison Base, reduce ride time by 30%, and continue to add value to the Big Sky experience for years to come.
The lift name and brand mark are inspired by the journey of the northern exposure ecosystem, where ski turns define the winter landscape, and the snowmelt makes its way to the Madison River in the spring.
