Very nice review of the PL-380. I have a PL-360 which for 30 quid has been immense, so I know how good these 'cheap' Tecsuns are. 73! Clint
Im after the PL-365 at the moment. Although I am tempted by the 360 too!

Nice Review Driver,what a great little radio.I do think 70 quid was too much for it and agree with Thomas on that and the Russian comment.Thumbs up given.If i did not already have two Tecsuns i would consider getting this one for sure.
A sugggestion for future radio videos,perhaps if you do go camping perhaps shoot a few dxpedition videos if possible but make sure to watch out for a Rambling Albert Tatlock!!! 73 Ray.
Most of it was paid for by vouchers, but yeah it was expensive, but still a good radio.
I do plan to do some dxpeditions at some point... I shall watch out for Tatlock too, I don't suppose he fought at the battle of Albuera jsut so we can go on these little adventures!
This summer we will be going down to the in laws cottage which is on the ocean with no close neighbours low noise and lots of space,today i bought an antenna just for there.So it will be kind of like an dxpedition as the actual wire can be put up far away from the cottage and have the feedline connected to the radio on the deck as hopefully it will be hot or inside.I plan to make plenty of videos for youtube.
Q1) What is the difference between the PL-310 (WRTH 2014 prize-draw radio) and the PL-380 you have reviewed here?
Q2) What is the difference between the PLL model and the DSP model of the PL-380?

Is there any shortwave radio with recording function?
The Kaito KA108 has a record function, but I dont own one so I dont know how good it is. There is a mini review here:
