No Air band and uses AA Batteries . Bought mine for f.M while walking, Good F.M. ,rugged , DspTuning on AM cuts out weak stations, Different bandwidths useful for known weak stations. Thanks for video!
I've got a PL380 & I love it. The only problem I have with it is that the buttons are very difficult to push. Not only because of the size but you have to push them just right or nothing happens. I use mine a lot when I walk the dog & therefore use it without any external antenna & I get great results. If it had a BFO it would be ideal.
I own the "successor" , which is the PL-390. I bought it especially for the OIRT band during the E skip season to receive the likes of Belarus, Ukraine & Russia. However, I found it had decent performance on shortwave & medium wave. Long wave though is very disappointing, too weak compared to my other radios. Was surprised I could receive Cuba & New Zealand on the SW bands. With a good external antenna connected it suffers from signal overload creating lots of images all over the band. It even happens when used on the standard whip antenna on its own. However, what I like best is the 6 filter selections & excellent battery consumption that can last for ages especially for regular casual listening.

Started my journey into ham radio as a Short Wave listener.
Thanks for your comment. I too started listening to shortwave as a kid and then much later got my ham radio license.

I might have to pick up the pl 380. Seems like a good entry level radio for someone new to shortwave.👍
Yes, it has gotten many good reviews.
