Ordered this online. I hope it replaces my Kenwood Ddx376BT. Since the Kenwood was installed I have had nothing but issues. Sent unit to a Kenwood authorized repair center twice, now shipping for third and final time. For those wondering why, I will set clock and settings. All will be fine then unit resets to default settings, going from 6 days without resetting to everyday going to default. Rewired twice. I've installed a pioneer 1/2 din stereo and zero issues, which is why I've ordered AVH-1550NEX. Kenwood lost a customer is all I can say.
Nice vid Dean. Pioneer is at least trying to be on forefront with a Network mode which is still missing in the upper end Kenwood units?

I was looking for info about the IDataLink use on this stereo. I have a couple of Q. Does this stereo have the Car Features function? I was thinking the NEX ending defines that. How do you identify what pioneer have this Car features function? Thank you, your videos are very helpful.

Just got this installed, like it, but unlike my previous 4200nex it doesn’t show CD info when playing CDs. What setting did I miss? Thanks in advance for your help.
I have had a 4200NEX with maestro rr for 2 years. It failed last week, apparently detachable faceplates get phantom touches from the shock of going off-road.
After installing the factory RES130S I decided to give the AVH-1500NEX a try. The vendor I bought the failed 4200nex from.gave me a $150.00.gift card.
So that helped.
Any tips on where to locate the maestro Rr ? I had mine behind the right center HVAC tube.
Was the 4000NEX series prone to failure ?
I can't decide if I want this or the DMH-1500NEX. I don't use HD radio, and not really needing a front camera... the DMH-1500NEX has a 7" screen which is nice and slightly bigger...
I have a 2010 Toyota 4Runner SR5 model, I purchased a Pioneer AVH-1500NEX and I have a problem trying to remap the steering wheel controls with a Axxess ASWC-1 and the plug and play. The SWC module programmed by itself, but the only thing is that the volume up function is on the answer button and the volume down function is on the Push to talk button, the other function is the mute that is on the hang up button. How can I reprogram all of the functions with the correct buttons?
Can you watch car play youtube videos while the car is in motion or does that feed off the parking break dvd set up as well?

Just installed this. How come I can’t change my Home Screen? I hit home custom setting option like in the beginning but it doesn’t change the little arrows on the lines to move things around?

Are you sure the 1550nex has HD radio? I could not find the info on pioneer website. Im still trying to figure out if that is the main difference from the 1500nex

Is there any possible way to use headphones with this particular radio? Maybe through the RCA outputs on the back to a 3.5mm jack?
If you wanted to do that, you'd need to purchase a headphone amplifier. The RCA outputs aren't going to properly drive headphones.
Try this with a home stereo or surround sound receiver, assuming you already have a cable to convert from RCA to headphone jack, and see what happens.
So get yourself a mobile headphone amp that can run off 12V and the RCA output would feed into that and then your headphones would plug into the amp.
If you can't find a mobile headphone amp to meet your needs, you'd have to get a home audio version, and also install a small power inverter to supply it with AC power unlesd your vehicle has an AC power jack that you don't mind sacrificing.
If it were me, I'd research whether the Bluetooth audio from the head unit could pair with Bluetooth headphones instead of trying to go the wired route.

Hey guys i watched this Video a couple weeks ago and decided to buy a pioneer 1550. I noticed their is a 2 / 3 sec lag on watching music videos (CZcams) and on gps apps (Waze) from an iPhone 8. Any idea on how to fix this lag time?
It is not the phone, they all work that way. We even get it when on our WiFi in the bay. It is just the speed over the USB and the Processor in the radio.

Sounds like they didn't connect the constant power wire properly. I'm guessing all your settings default to factory every time as well

What? Why would that have anything to do with “loudness.” The answer is: No. Study up on “pre-out voltage” that’s one thing that will make your deck “louder.”

For me the biggest drawback about this radio is the buttons along the left hand side. They are taking up too much screen real estate.
Some us don't want a 100% touch screen. I, myself included. Buttons are more responsive and reliable. Granted shouldn't be using stereo while driving but much easier to use in my opinion.
I hear ya - tho I do like the idea of actual buttons the design could’ve been a bit better for “2019”. MY beef with this deck is wtf is up with the included remote control. It can’t access audio functions/adjustments? Literally nothing online about it and it’s driving me F nuts. Only volume. DVD functions. And skip/play/pause? Am I missing something??

This is not a review. More like an unboxing and tutorial. Hell we even get to learn the basics of a Pioneer plug which hasn't changed in about a decade or so.
We will change the names going forward from review to tutorial. It is a better description of the video. We decided to add in the plug because it was a popular request video. This just saves time not having to hunt for a second video.
