      1. Install the latest version of iOS on your phone.

      3. Press the DMH-1500NEX microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer DMH-1500NEX on the hard key panel to the far right.
      4. Try a different USB cable. Just because a cable will charge the phone does not mean it will work with Apple CarPlay. Don't expect a $1 gas station cable to work. Get a good quality cable.
      5. The USB extension cable must be plugged directly into the back of the Pioneer DMH-1500NEX receiver in order for CarPlay to work.
      6. Are you plugging your phone into the USB extension cable that came with the receiver? Or are you trying to plug into an existing OEM USB port? It must be plugged directly into the back of the receiver.

    AVH-1330NEX, connected to speakers via RCAs (vehicle has existing amp/sub) in Standard mode. Guidance volume has always been too low to be usable (even at full volume for guidance volume, regardless if Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze). This has been a problem through multiple iPhones and iOS versions for a few years. Latest firmware on the radio. No issues with music, Siri, message volume. I've tried playing with all of the radio audio settings to no avail (and there are A LOT). You can hear it (out of front speakers only), but just too low. Thoughts/ideas?

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  Před 2 lety

      Thank you for the detailed question. Please answer a few more questions to clarify things. When you say the guidance volume is low, are you saying the music does not mute when you hear a guidance command? Or the music is muted or attenuated, and the guidance command volume is still too low? Are you using Maestro RR in this installation? I read that you've installed the latest firmware for the receiver. I'd like to confirm that you have firmware version 18.39 installed.
      Have you tried to press the receiver's microprocessor reset button? You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-1330NEX at the top of the hard key panel beside eject. Next, I recommend to do a Restore Settings. I do have an interface for steering wheel controls - 95% sure it was a Maestro as I recall having to program it (I did this in late 2017 - my kids' car that I now have back again). If I set mute to ON vs. ATT it helps slightly as the music goes totally off, but not really usable. Also, phone call volume isn’t really loud enough to use while driving either. Soooooo. Full reset. CarPlay music can get plenty loud! Guidance is waaaay too quiet. Phone calls although usable with the car off, is too quiet to be useful while driving. Not nearly as quiet as guidance, but far from ever being called loud.

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  Před 2 lety

      @@cz9h3d Thank you for your detailed response. I think I understand now, and we can solve the issue. I believe this has directly to do with the receiver's --REAR-- RCA outputs in standard mode, being used to send signal to the external amp and subwoofer.
      Pioneer in-dash receivers output Bluetooth Phone Call audio and navigation instructions to the FRONT speaker outputs and FRONT RCA outputs only. Not to the rear RCA outputs, and not to the rear speaker outputs.
      The Bluetooth Audio source, or music played from your phone, will play through all outputs, both front and rear. Your in-dash receiver may be installed incorrectly.
      There is an easy way to test it. Change to the HD Radio Source and tune in any strong radio station. Next, using the receiver's Fader control, fade the audio output all the way to the front. You can see how to use the fader control in this video: czcams.com/video/Z86fQryoRVk/video.html
      Can you hear music? . If you fade the system all the way to the front and can not hear music, or the music volume is very low, that may mean the in-dash receiver’s FRONT audio outputs are not connected in your system. You may have the receiver's rear RCA outputs connected and operating front speakers in your vehicle.
      You can see the front / rear / subwoofer RCA outputs on the receiver in this video: czcams.com/video/adbrQ6hUzwQ/video.html
      If you change the RCA output connection to the receiver's Front RCA Output, you'll be able to hear phone calls, and navigation instructions, etc...

      @@pioneerelectronics Front speaker volumes user fader are super low on HD Radio source - BUT, rears are quite loud when moving to either left or right rear. Fader adjustment is sending signal to the appropriate in-car speaker. If I have RCA's reversed, would I not see the opposite - fader to front speaker would result in sound from the rear?? Or is my OEM amp in the equation helping to create this condition? I'll swap the RCA's just for the heck of it and see what I get!! Note: adjusting the speaker inputs, +db fronts, -db rears, to get music properly distributed or even front heavy - still doesn't get enough volume for guidance...BUT the fader operates the correct speakers, and all are plenty loud for music. ;)

      @@cz9h3d Please clarify What you mean here: "Front speaker volumes user fader are super low on HD Radio source" If the receiver is faded all the way to the front and the volume is low on the front speakers, this may be an issue with the OEM amp. I recommend to try a different USB cable to connect to your phone or USB flash drive. Or to use a different flash drive. I recommend to press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button behind the detachable face on the AVH-3500NEX as seen in this How To video from Pioneer: czcams.com/video/ibWu0o2hW24/video.html

      There is a keyboard available for Apple Maps. The parking brake must be engaged to use the keyboard. You can find more videos about Pioneer AVH-2300NEX here: czcams.com/video/ObpKXwrN8us/video.html

      Can you use the Google Maps app in Apple CarPlay? No. However, if you choose to use the Waze Navigation app, it uses Google Maps, that changes the answer is yes you can use Google Maps. This video is linked from Pioneer (www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/DMH-WC6600NEX#videos) as "How To - Apple CarPlay Wireless Setup-Nex" which is exactly what I am trying to figure out. But, the video doesn't come near addressing the subject of the video produced by Pioneer. More complete, helpful, step-by-step instructions would be helpful. The user manual has you jump around from different sections, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, WiFi Settings without much detailed information. What are the requirements for WIRELESS CarPlay? What Wi-Fi network requirements are needed? Use of the "infrastructure" network? Using my iPhone as a Hot Spot (provided by my carrier)? Or, does the thing need to connect to my home network? It works while directly connected, which is only half of the battle!

      What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? What is the iPhone? What version of iOS in installed on the phone?
      If you have Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX, please watch this video for setting up your iPhone to work with wireless Apple CarPlay: czcams.com/video/CUrxfgBy2BM/video.html

      @@pioneerelectronics Thanks for the quick response! The model is DMH-WC6600NEX. The model of the mobile device is iPhone 13 Pro Max. The version of iOS is 15.3.1 and tried with other iPhone devices as well. I am able setup Bluetooth without issue, and even later during the process later get the prompt, “Use CarPlay” in iOS. The video provided is better instruction overall. But, so far hasn’t solved the issue. Wired CarPlay works. Wireless CarPlay doesn’t work.

    • @skitka
      @skitka Před 2 lety

      One more thing…Please provide step by step instructions for each connection type. For example, Apple CarPlay Wireless AND Wired, but without mixing in instructions for other connection types (such as Alexa or Android). If these instructions are provided separately, then it will reduce confusion. ALSO - What wireless network is preferred or recommended? Do I use the Wi-Fi network the Pioneer head unit creates? Etc.
