Im starting to think someone needs to bring an academic understanding of lolcow psychology to the criminal justice field 🤔 it seems like there’s some seriously pervasive stereotypes about the “harmlessness” of people that have a particular combination of specific developmental/intellectual disorders and mid-level functional impairment and care requirements. If they’re weak, barely taking care of themselves, and “nerdy” (ie obsessed over things the average cop or judge considers nerdy like anime or TikTok), they’re assumed incapable of really harming someone, and it’s BIZARRE.
Physiognomy is real tbh.
Mental disability doesn’t make someone a PDF, however things like a History of SA from adults around them are of concern. Like Jupiter and Cyraxx were surrounded by PDFs their entire lives, so no wonder they turned out the same way. For them it’s normal, runs in the family.
The problem is that intellectually challenged people are more likely to be preyed upon by PDFs. However they are usually naive and lack critical thinking skills, so in their mind this sort of behaviour becomes normalised, so they are likely to do that to other people.
Well and then we have the parents who excuse their children’s actions because of their disability, instead of disciplining them.
It's not about him being harmless. Legally, if you reach a threshold of mental disease in many countries you are not "responsible for your actions", but I think this dude is faking it and is well aware of the shit he done. I say that because at first he denied and then he is now apologizing. I'm no professional but in my regard opinion this dude is in the gray area of being insane and "normal". He definitely is aware to some extent.

Prison is meant to punish and involves moral culpability, sentencing to medical intervention is not punitive but meant to keep the public safe from the offender. That implies the issue is whether or not they’re perceived as harmless.

How long does it take for the police to search his device for illegal images? They have had his devices for almost a month now. He should be in jail by now.
Part of it does depend on priority. If you have a murder case or a SA case that comes up, that's going to take higher priority until they're done or at least at a stage which only requires minimum overviewing of it. The only way I can see it picking up steam is if the local community pressures their Sheriff's office and local PD to pick up the pace.
If you're building a case, you want the most damning evidence you can show a jury for a conviction. The DA isn't going to waste his time with hearsay, rumors, and evidence that the defense can just explain away. We may get impatient on how slow the justice system works, but I'm sure they are scouring his devices to find as much evidence as possible so he doesn't get off on a technically.
Jupiter is one of the few people I have contemplated going to prison over.

So I'm gonna put on my armchair psychology hat real fast and explain kinda whats going on as far as Jupiter's refusal to stop talking to minors is.
This.... condition we'll call it is a paraphilia. The thing about paraphilias and what makes them so different to standard kink and fetish is that 1. All paraphhilias are either harmful to someone else or the patient themselves and 2. Paraphilias are addictive in nature.

Jupiter is absolutely a victim, as are most predators. The difference between a victim that becomes a predator and a victim that does not, is whether or not the victim is able to heal from all of that trauma.
Someone I know is also a victim and had a lot of those types of acts normalized to them, so when they were a teen they'd just "date" grown men casually. Afterwards they looked back, realized how fucked it was, and *why* it was fucked up. And then had to go back and confront more people in their family, the people who hurt them on the first place.
Jupiter hasn't healed any of that stuff. He just keeps pushing it down, acting like its not a problem because if he acknowledges that its bad behavior thats fucked up, he would have to condemn his family members and thats just not something he wants to do. Maybe its because those are the only connections he has, so he feels like he has to. Maybe he drank the "blood is thicker than water" koolaid. Idk.
What i do know is this niggas days are numbered.

You know, the most frustrating thing I've gotten out of all these lolcows? Our mental health system is way too underfunded to deal with these guys. The system just keeps failing them and failing us by extension by protecting us from them. With proper therapy and meds and getting away from the internet, they could probably have decent lives. Some, like Chris-chan, probably can't live on their own, but they could be stabilized. But there's just not enough resources to do it.
