The cops were incredibly polite with him. I have never been arrested but I've been confronted by police a few times, this was far from aggressive.
I saw people point out how calm and reasonable he was when being arrested, showing that he knows when he can behave and chooses not to most of the time

I think a lot of Daniel's personality is made up for Tiktok. He's obviously crazy, but I think he plays it up a good bit because he knows when he does people give him things, even if it's just attention.

I feel like with Daniel it just has to do with his mood/how the officers behave they were very polite to him so I think that stopped him from sperging out

He basically doesn't freak out if there's no build up, because the cuffs went on him more or less instantly, there was no time for a back and forth to get him riled up. The thing about mentally disabled people is they don't freak out all the time, they just reach their breaking point much more quickly than normal people. Daniel was subdued so quickly that he didn't even have time to process what was going on before he was already under control.

I've definitely seen a video of Daniel saying he was going to shoot up a mall after he was kicked out, just don't remember which one it was.
The hospital threat is the only one I can think of, but wouldn't surprise me if he threatened the mall too

I’m real slow to give cops credit for anything, but fair dues, they’re overly patient with Danderson.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were well aware how volatile Larson is and were told to use as little "force" as possible as long as he complied so he has little wiggle room to escape on a technicality. The fact that they were wearing disposable gloves when they approached shows that someone tipped them off about his parasite problem (which I don't think he ever got fixed?).
They moved quick to get him and he was acting normal and just fine shows how he just wants attention badly
i generally do not care for police, but credit where it's due, this a very patient and accommodating officer.
It's because he's a CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) These are cops that are trained to deal with Crazies. Normal Cops aren't. Some cities force Cops in general to take CIT training, but most of them don't because it's just not efficient. Specialists are more important then Generalists. At least I assume he was a CIT, Only one of them was talking to Daniel the entire time and he wasn't the one that cuffed him either.
If it had been just the other two, chances are they would have cuffed Daniel, told him what was going on, put him the car then shut the door on him before he could say anything. Cops don't like dealing with Crazies. Technically speaking it's not even their job to deal with them, 50 years ago there was a fourth First Responder called PET's (Psychiatrics Emergency Teams) that were sent by Dispatch to deal with these people. They would evaluate the person on the field, figure out if this was truly someone they needed to deal with and if they were they would sedate them or cuff them and haul them off to an Asylum for processing.
But, Asylums were all shut down, PETs were axed and the responsibility sort of fell on Police. A lot of cops actually quit because of it. The ones that didn't generally either ignored them, chased them out of town or treated them like a sane criminal.

To be honest Daniel always has the nicest people serving him wherever he goes and he always manages to make them lose their patience. He’s such a pest

I’ve had one of the worst experience with cops that a person can have without getting arrested or killed. I was raped at a party and it took the police seven hours to get to me, and only after I basically forced their hand during a meltdown wherein I stood in an intersection to make them show up. They took down my statement and were off. Fortunately they didn’t get mad at me first holding up traffic. A month later they contacted me about charging the guy who raped me. Said they didn’t have a male rape kit, which was a lie as I later found out. Long story short they acted like it would be impossible to prove and strong armed me into dropping it.
Now, all that said, nearly every other interaction I’ve had with police has been amazing and I 100% stand behind our boys in blue. Sure there are a handful of bad ones, but the majority of them are good men and women putting their lives and reputations on the line everyday to make our streets safer. Things would be much worse without them.
It was so weird seeing Danny, not banging his head against the wall when the cop showed up. I would say he’s playing into that, but he’s not smart enough to fake it.
Ehhhh he's definitely hella manipulative and knows who he can act up around. And he uses that behavior to try to get his way and punish others for not letting him get his way.
He was a lot more calmer about the situation than I expected.

Bro, the cops in a huddle and gloving up before even talking to Danderson is priceless. Also, not 100% on how it works in CO but Daniel was specifically picked up for a probation violation and is probably on a PO hold which would mean its up to his PO when he gets out. He does have other warrants outside of the probation stuff so my best guess is probation will be revoked and if its not reinstated he will be in custody for much longer than 120 days 😂

5:10 agreed that the cops, in this particular situation, are being incredibly kind to Daniel. They can tell he's probably got mental health problems (those struggling with homelessness disproportionately do; while I don't know what all the info on him on the warrant is, he _does_ look the part of a mentally ill homeless guy), and have either had additional training, or are just fundamentally nicer guys, compared to most other cops.
I really hope that this gets a ball rolling to get Danderson in the mental health care situation that he needs. He's shown, time and again, that he cannot safely function as his own guardian. For real, if we discount The Mother Effen-ing, _ChrisChan did a better job, taking care of a household, than Daniel could even manage _*_just himself_*_ in the _*_assisted living_*_ care homes he was briefly in!_
Anyone else feel weird in realising that Toucan Dan makes it obvious that ChrisChan is actually able to function in society? That Chris's biggest issues have always been an unwillingness to change for the better, but was still able to manage getting bills paid and keep the lights on, even if on-line panhandling was often utilised to do so?
