Really love your reviews and your direct style, always to the point. Two things I regret about this device though: no more Windows Hello camera and a design that has been around for a while. I find it is time for a refresh in that matter and therefore I am waiting to see if something else might come up. Great review, Andrew, and thx!

Question on the Dell xps 13 9380... When I pressed the power button. It seems that I have to press real deep into the power button and in a certain spot. The fingerprint scanner worked great. I am not sure if this is how the power button works and there is no feedback to this(like a click).. I am in the process of getting it replaced and working with Dell support. I just wanted to see if this was normal. When I do press the button. the screens turn off and at one point, it gave me the option to power down.. Any advice is appreciated... Thank you

Great review. I couldn't agree more. The next generation of the Dell XPS 13 should have dedicated graphics like the Huawei Matebook X Pro or Razer Blade Stealth. Otherwise, it seems like a fantastic 13" laptop. Although, it's very expensive. It's paying the XPS tax rather than Apple's.
I hope Dell updates the XPS 15 this year; it's beginning to show its age. Fingers crossed that they'll move the webcam up top on the XPS 15, too. I love the Frost White color option for the XPS 13 because it doesn't collect/show prints. If Dell doesn't make some changes to modernize the XPS 15, I'm getting the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme. I wish Microsoft would put a H-series processor in the Surface Book instead of an ultrabook CPU, but I won't hold my breath.

I picked up the Asus UX433 after watching your video. I got if for £899, the new XPS with the same specs (although with 4k display) would have been £1329. That's a huge difference in price over what is also a very premium machine. I think Dell are over pricing a bit.

  • @geoi6819

I have 9370 model. Compared to the old MacBook Air the only advantage is obviously the screen. Keyboard and trackpad are better on Air, the interface is also smoother, audio experience with headphones is better on Air. Despite being thinner on paper, in fact XPS has these high rubber stands which make it feel thicker than Air. I don’t understand all the hype around XPS, in fact it’s pretty standard laptop with relatively low quality control - I have exactly the same issue with audio driver as many other users (also, it may seem to be nitpicking, but my unit has a flaw with space button being higher on the left side than on the right). If there was a MateBook 13/14 last year, I’d probably try it instead of XPS. The only competitive advantage is price for a base model - 899$ is fair price. In case you need compact windows laptop, it’s ok, if you need gaming capabilities better choose something with mx150/250 (XPS has 45 fps in Overwatch on low settings), in any other case I’d go for MacBook Pro 2017 - it seems to be more reliable.

If I was in the market for a Windows laptop, this would be my choice with the FHD screen and probably just the 8 gbs of RAM. How responsive is the touchscreen? Is it, or can it be a Windows Ink machine? I'm a touchscreen person and love the ability to use an active pen/stylus on my "toys". If you do a follow up review, say after a month of use, could you possibly answer these questions at that time? Thanks. As always, another great review!
