New wave of RTX gaming laptops coming out, oh buddy! Also, wallpaper links are in the description if you're interested. Thanks for watching!
can you also link the wallpapers from the other videos you did ? i am searching for that red mountain sun wallpaper you had on the razer blade
Yep. Not sure which one but I'll link both of them here and update the original videos:

@@InfinityLabsTech thanks alot ! :)
You're comparing RTX laptops with a thin and light XPS13? No clue.
You shouldn't judge a keyboard layout if you use the index finger for the space bar hehe
Exactly what i thought lol
are you gatekeeping typing
@@shrimpstar5373 Yes, yes he is. And he has every right to do so
This is one of the few laptops that can come with Ubuntu natively, you should mention that. Major selling point for us developers, that's why I bought this one, plus it's size makes it super portable.
He's too biased against the laptop to do it. Like I Don't know if he got a lemon or something but the only time mine has thermal throttled is before the fans start spinning up. It does this for a little bit to keep the noise down but then when it realises the heavy load is there to stay the fans spin up and it cools right down. His testing of the laptop obviously hasn't been thorough enough.
its*
@@CenturionHytale I agree, this sucka is on crack, this is one of the fastest laptops you can buy for productivity work and general computing.
If you're a developer, you shouldn't need a company to install Ubuntu for you. Or were you mentioning that because it comes with a reduced cost?
Stardude50 they probably mentioned it because although Linux is pretty forgiving these days, it’s still a challenge to find new hardware that is confirmed to play nicely out of the box. This is due to manufacturers tweaking their BIOS, firmwares, drivers, and hardware specifically for windows.
Why is everyone reviewing the 4K version? I want to see the 1080p model.
Turn your resolution down to 1080p lol
You're joking right? Paying hundreds of dollars more for a feature you wont use?
Kevin Anaya What are you even talking about?
@@spungoflex3285 Kevin was responding to Warren, not you.
I appreciated this review. Thanks! Agreed with your suggestion of positioning for the speakers. The full SD card slot would also be a win for me.
Will this laptop be good with the elgato HD60S?
Ok this Question might sound a little bit silly but does the Dell Rosegold-Finish match with Apples (normal) Gold Tone like on IPhone and IPad?
The XPS 9380 is one of the best laptops. Who agrees?
The Tech Nook not really thermal throttling is a no go for me chief
@@joshuareveles Which laptop is better with a weigth of 1.21 kg, i7, 16GB RAM, Battery etc. ? I just want to ask...
I have the XPS with the i7 16gb ram and 512SSD plus a 4k screen i bought two weeks ago and its a speed demon!
Nathan Chisholm is it still holding up? Thinking of purchasing one.
Still one of the best ultraportables you can get with a good selection of different specs. I agree though that’s in need of a design refresh as it’s becoming stale, and dedicated graphics would be nice.
brightness function keys on the arrows are actually easier to remember than the F keys on the top
You can control fan speeds with Dell Power Manager
Yeah, if you don't mind your CPU being throttled as well.
What are some of the better laptops that it's falling behind from?
i think you need to turn on express charging in the bios to enable it.
Accelerated charging is for the thunderbolt 3 ports on the left side, not the usb-c on the right
This is the first time I am using a laptop for school. Should I get it.
yeah the arrow up arrow down keyboard brightness is not ideal. i like the old F11-F12 brightness from the older xps 13 9360
I wonder what lens do you use? The distortion is very noticeable to me at 0 min 8 sec, pretty distracting as well.
Video was shot on a Galaxy S6. rip
Any coil whine issues (especially while scrolling or when plugged in)?
Nothing on my unit
You can buy a decked out referb or scratch and dent 9370 on dell outlet for half the price of the 9380...
Can you stick the charging cable upside down in the port so the white light on it is on the downside so it doesn't blind you?
you can stick it upside down, but the other side has got a LED too so you'll always see the light (at least in 9370 generation)
@@PascalHeyrman Thanks for the info. Maybe some black tape around it will help? Not sure how blinding the LED is when using the laptop in the evening in low light.
@@mikev324 the light is very dim, so a piece of tape will definitely help. Only time I think it's annoying is when the laptop's charging in your bedroom in complete darkness
@@PascalHeyrman Have you owned a previous XPS model when they used a barrel (round) connector? If so, is the LED more bright or not?
@@mikev324 No I haven't I'm sorry, currently have the 9370. I'd say it's as 'bright' as a light on a smartphone to show you have a notification
Great video!
Thanks!
I want the Thinkpad X1 Carbon, but just haven't bitten the bullet on it.
Nice Review. Would you recommend this over the X1 Carbon 6th Gen / 7th Gen?
I've never tried the ThinkPads except for back in elementary school cause that iconic nipple trackpad, but one of my friends was saying some really good things about it so I'll try and get one for review.
Hello which one do you recommend to University students to do assignments, presentations and dissertation? The xps 13 or 15?
Don't get the 15, it has horrible thermals and is really loud. You can do assignments and presentations on the XPS 13 just fine
@@grotesque2786 alright thank you
13 for portability and 15 for home or office necessities 👍
@@brucebalerion thanks.
@@celinea.p4467 np 😎
Isn't this like the third small incremental update of the XPS line-up? Dell really needs to step up their game.
Good review, subscribed!
what video editor do you use? these are some well-edited videos!
I use Final Cut, but nothing crazy in terms of editing. Like I just crank the saturation to 1000% and then that lets me fix the white balance issues.
Also, all my videos are shot entirely on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Good lighting wins!
@@InfinityLabsTech I shoot on my phone as well but your quality is heaps better than mine. Good work!
Well I'm kinda cheating by having softboxes and lots of bright lights, and everything was set up so my S6 wouldn't have any trouble filming. Plus a little bit of editing. I went and watched 3 of your videos, I think you're using auto brightness so make sure to set everything to manual. Makes a world of difference. Once you start to color correct, everything will look wayy better. Good stuff bud!
@@InfinityLabsTech For sure lighting is always a issue with mine. It ain't cheating at all though. Thanks for the feedback as well. I'll try improve it since it makes a huge difference. Keep it up too!!!
No mention of the oled screen?
XPS 15 finally got it. May be next year for the 13.
can swap wifi card?
Nope
I would be happy with a laptop like an XPS13 (first through third generation) - which were widely considered to be very good - to just stick around longer. Just fix the wifi and bluetooth that people reported complains about, make a new high end model if you like but leave a well working office machine for the rest. Ultrabooks are apparently not good enough for gamers - well, here is the news: they have good enough for office, video streaming ,web browsing years ago why the need to make them faster every year and they just get pricer and lose some touch (who buys an ultra light to then use adapters for everything that is normally needed today)?
Everyone does because everyone is eliminating everything but type c :(
received my laptop this month. mine came damaged, interior screen hinge was dirty, the bezel seams were not flushed, and screen flickering was horrendous. its like i was given a refurbished laptop at full price
Hey. Did you get a new one from Dell ?
@@matze2735 no. their customer service sucks. its been about a month since i put in my request for a replacement, nothing
@@danjosef2084 But have you got a non glare display or glossy one ? I read that there isnt a non glare one but some websites offer it...
Why are your hands so red?
My camera was making the laptop really green so I had to compensate for it by adding a lot of pink to the shots which made my already reddish hands look very red. They aren't that red in real life, just what I gotta deal with when using a Galaxy S6 to record.
Ryan Yang because Dell XPS 13 is heating too much due to Thermal issues.
Because I'm too cheap to buy a proper camera LOL. It's either A7III or nothing, and I'm not feeling that $4000 price tag after buying a lens for it too. Currently considering buying it if I find it for a good price used.
If you mean how does it look as good as it does for a 2015 phone, it's because I have a bunch of lights and I do a little bit of editing to clean it up. Like my recording setup was made specifically so my S6 wouldn't have any trouble filming.
@@InfinityLabsTech I never noticed even though I use an s7, I found the quality to be very good than mine thanks to your editing and lighting! Keep up the great work!
This is an awesome video. You deserve way more subscribers and views!
Thanks! Happy you liked it :)
Please review
Dell G7 RTX 2060
Noted down on my list, I’ll try and see if I can get a review unit for it. Thanks for the suggestion!
best review I've seen so far. A lot of other reviews (with proper benchmarks) say it wont throttle
It does throttle less than the Huawei Matebook X Pro (2018) though, which is imho the only real competition to the XPS13 atm.
Can it run Linux
Yes, just like any other laptop can. This one doesn't even need tweaking, since there's an option in the Dell Store shipping it with Ubuntu 18.04 preinstalled (lower cost overall, too).
I bought the 9370 last year and it is the buggiest laptop I have ever owned and this white color is not new. Considering they never ironed out the glitches of the 9370 I would not encourage anyone to get the 9380.
I have a 9365 and have had ZERO issues, it performs great as a travel lappie!
@@bigdisme5622 You are one of a few. The dell forums are littered with 100's of people with the same issues. From randomly not seeing what wifi is available and just not connecting to bios glitches, for a few weeks because of the bios my laptop would not even charge. Every 20 minutes or so it seems to choke and stutter. I could go all day with the amount of issues this thing has. Again, Dell's support forums unleashes the truth. As soon as someone buys mine I am switching to the new LG.
@@jdhaggard562 This is my second Dell xps 13, and not a single problem on either one.
does it have windows hello for login
Unfortunately not. They couldn't fit the sensors up top so it's just the fingerprint sensor. probably should've mentioned that in the video but I forgot
Removed to allow new top location, power button has fingerprint reader to compensate
Both Razer and the Matebook X Pro's performance is a bit of a joke given how heavily they throttle. Dell is too, but the Ultrabook space is filled with laptops with hampered performance.
What would you reccomend then?
We just have to wait for more efficient, cooler processors. I am really excited for when Apple releases a laptop with the rumored in house chip but for an ultrabook. We might see even thinner laptops with even larger batteries!
@@GNM- a 15" thin and light with better cooling. Several exist.
@@jamesw2831 For example ? In a price range up to 1500€ and nice quality like the XPS 13.
@@matze2735 I'd pay for a thin and light gaming laptop for that price.
I don't think the argument for full size SD cards over MicroSD cards holds much water anymore. MicroSD cards are ubiquitous among android phones, handheld gaming devices, routers, DAP's, etc, and are even cheaper than full size cards now. I guess DSLR's haven't made the transition to microSD yet but they're among the last technologies to hold out. I love being able to put my entire music collection on a 256gb fingernail-size wafer and move it from my laptop to my Fiio M6 to my phone.
More helpful for us creators working with larger equipment of whom Apple would rather us live in dongle world.
They need to update the XP’s line and I mean all of them, they have a lazy design that needs to match with the times. Get the camera where it should be at the top and stop trying to be edgy. If every brand can get a thin laptop with the normal designs try and keep it that way. Also they need to get gorilla glass covers for 1080p computers instead of the simple mat glossy screen it needs that to look nicer
amazin
can this get productive with video editing?
not made for gaming = not made for video editing
Why does this guy's voice sound like Jar Jar's every few sentences?
Why I think the original model is the best?
Sorry you can't use the keyboard backlighting for an impromptu rave. It works in the dark. Which is what it's for :V
Ahhhh sorry I'm late. I was in school.

wow, DELL still not change their thermal solution for XPS line up. like there are tons of thin and light laptop which doesn't throttling, and thid issue has been around since first gen, shame on DELL for this.
Last year Dell introduced a new gortex cooling solution to the XPS 13 and it gets more out of that CPU then everyone else using it. Watch a comparison video.
possible to add an extra stick of memory?
Nope
I was going to buy one of these, but it’s trackpad is tiny and no windows hello support is absolute crap.
The search for a good ultrabook continues...
Look for the LG gram! Super duper amazing battery life, ultra light, two m.2 slots and a ram slot empty. The most upgradable Ultrabook I know... Jerry rig everything made a video about it's durability some years ago.chech there out ;)
9370 is still a better choice, also you could find it cheaper, now that 9380 is available plus it comes with windows hello
You deleated all your old vids, i want to die no lol
Yeah didn't really like them, but I kept up the newer ones because I like those ones. Nicely edited and more entertaining

@@InfinityLabsTech OMGosh thank you so much 😂😂😂
I had to leave so I only got like 10-15 videos public but I’ll go through my videos again later
haha im watching this on a 9360
@@LandCruisinI do have some build quality issues with mine the chassis makes cracking noises for some reason, besides that its perfect
No
I really wish they got rid of that carbon fiber, looks ugly
why the hell are your hands so red... are you dying... 😨
Nah my hands usually turn red for some reason, and i made them even more red while editing the video because my camera made the laptop look green so I compensated by making everything more pink. Marina Joyce lul
Deal breaker: native linux
It has an *option* to ship it with Ubuntu 18.04, but you can also order it normally with Windows 10 Pro. More choice is normally an advantage in my textbook.
@@nexus5170 Sure, I am just saying a premium laptop with native linux is a dealbreaker for its competitors. I end up with 5530 ubuntu, too sad xps 13 is stuck with killer wifi.
"I know it may look like the screen is flexing but I'm using quite a lot of power to do this so don't worry about it" Yeah the carbon fibre they used? the extremely flexible material? yeah, not problem with flex even tho it may seem as it being flexing BUT IN ACTUALITY It's just "flowing with my motions" and not actually flexing. quit your bs, the screen flexes and it flexes A LOT, I've tried these XPS laptops in stores and such and the main things I noticed about all the models they're had over the years is that there's an incredible amount of flex everywhere in the chassis, both in the palmrest/keyboard area and the display housing. But yeah keep on telling your viewers that there's not much flex in the thing for whatever bs reason you have. Paying Mac price for a terrible build quality windows laptop doesn't make any sense to me, if it was built better then yeah but it isn't.
macbook pro2019 is far far better than dell xps 13 4 k
If you're looking for a good more powerful review, look elsewhere.
He mentions the keyboard backlighting is not bright enough, but why not test it in a dark room instead of a room with a lot of light?!?!?! Come on!! step up your game sucka.
