Make sure you don't put the flip in your pocket with a bank card. I did that with my flip 3. It scratched the screen where it folds. Still worked fine after atleast.
I don't mean to be even slightly mean here bc it's a thing many many CZcamsrs do but like, do people not know how screens break? You're slapping a flat surface against a flat surface, additionally it's slightly lifted so you're hitting the sides that are plastic, and obviously nothing will break bc that's how dispersing force over volume works. What breaks phones usually isn't a flat screen hitting flat ground but either shock ie oscillations, or more commonly, something uneven, like a rock or a table or so. Like idk why but it irrationally pisses me off when CZcamsrs test phone durability by dropping it on flat ground and such. You need to absolutely brutally smash it into the ground to even hope to break it bc its FLAT. That's not where most phones ever break. Most breaks happen on bumps where the force is concentrated! In this case i think what's being tested is more so the hinge durability, bc again there is literally no way for the screen to get damaged unless you jam some dust in the middle of the crease
Z fold 4 here got somehow a tiny spec of dust in between the screen, it cracked the screen started off as a q tip sized ,now it's the whole screen blacked out. Not worth the 1,800
That's a pretty lame experiment. Put some neodymium magnets on it. Place it as a pivot point of a fulcrum with increasing weights. Something to actually test it.
Why do people do this 😂 there are mechanical engineers that must’ve spent years understanding the model of the hinge, optimising the endurance, material selection and! There are literally 1000 of these hinges with screens running continuously… opening and closing cycles at various frequencies. They will pass the design only when the endurance is million cycles for 90-95% of these samples…
as long as you can close the phone in a cool way like with the old flip phones after you're done talking to somebody, and they get in my price range, I think they can be cool.
Yeah, these things don't die from closing them too hard, I wanted to see how much it would take to destroy my z flip 5, and I gave it everything, but I only hurt my hand. Quite durable id say, even giving it tosses at my brick wall didn't shatter the glass. I finally damaged the display after about 100 slams on my wooden table and very aggressive closing though😂
To be honest flipping a phone vertically makes no sense, the z flip which flops horizontally actually makes sense since you get more screen estate, but if I had money I wouldn't buy zflod
i had the fold 4 for 6 months and the middle started developing this “used” texture and look, until one day it just stopped accepting my touch in the middle. tried to get it fixed with my guarantee since it was only 7 months old at that point. never got a reply back from samsung, even though i got in contact through their system on multiple occasions. sadly, this is was made me change to iphone after having used that fun, but expensive mistake…
