  • I'm starting with RAW ingredients to make this delicious Pineapple Upside Down Cake! Is it HEALTHY? It is made from whole food ingredients and is WAY better than store bought. WHOLE ingredients being the key word...no artificial flavors or preservatives here! I believe it is the best form of Pineapple Upside Down Cake out there and I hope you give homemade, from scratch food a try. I used whole soft wheat berries and milled them, with my Wonder Mill, to get an all-purpose pastry flour and then I cut up real pineapple (not the can) and added raw sugars and real butter make this recipe.

Hi! My name is Kim. This year my family has decided to throw out all the conventional ways of easy cooking and convenience foods. We are moving towards a new way of life..more holistic, with whole foods, all organic, and home grown garden produce. Better food, better health, better life! I know it is going to be more planning and hard work...but what we eat is the most important thing that we do all day. Food is medicine or it is poison. I want to serve medicine to my family. Join us as we embark on this new journey. It will be full of progress and mistakes, as we try new things such as tinctures, salves, fermentations, canning, homesteading, gardening, and so much more. ❤️

Kim, tell your husband you NEED the Ankarsrum mixer! That Kitchenaide will not stand the test of time, making your bread for your family weekly. I know from experience even sent it in to Kitchenaide to refurbish still didn’t stand. So I use it for easy stuff like the many accessories I have for it. I got the Ankarsrum after much research and was bouncing back and forth from it and the Bosch but in the end the Ankarsrum won its spot on my counter and believe me it has earned that prime real estate and it’s paid for itself already in three years. Will be an heirloom for sure they have a great reputation for many years. I never use the bread hook just the roller and scraper works great. I’ve made many loaves with it and much fresh milled flour has been through it. Expensive? Yes, but so worth it it’s like comparing a black n decker tool to a craftsman too ( craftsman of years gone by that is) hubby will understand that one. Buy it one done. Learning curve? Yes but lots of videos to help as Breadbeckers for one 🙂. Last thing you need is to be prepared and mixer gives up! ( I bout a small solar generator just for my mixer😂 she deserves it)

Hi! Just found your channel and your husband's too; enjoying both. Wondering if you have any suggestions for using beans in as many ways possible, as we are prepping and have a lot of canned beans but my husband just told me he hates beans (!!!?) 🤨.Your hubby mentioned his grandma eating beans inside buns... so I thought maybe you'd have some suggestions for flavourings to add or "hiding" in food would be fantastic. I can only make so much chilli before we get sick of it... (of course we'd eat to live, but you know what i mean). Much thanks. (Hi from BC Canada!) 💓
