I Got Rid of 90% of My Stuff
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 55KPĆed 6 mÄsĂci
I just decluttered 90% of my stuff. I am leaving my apartment after 4.5 years and will be living out of a single suitcase for a while. So I had to clear out all corners of the apartment, go through bathroom cabinets, kitchen shelves, and stuff I stored under the bed. Declutter everything. Go full extreme minimalism. In his book The Untethered Soul, Michael Singer writes: âWeâre really not tryin...
7 Things I Still Buy as a Minimalist
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 8KPĆed 7 mÄsĂci
Not too long ago, I made a video about things I no longer buy as a minimalist: branded clothes, items on sale, and paper books. Minimalism helps me to stay grounded, an organized space is an organized mind. But what Iâve also learned is that minimalism is not about owning as few possessions as possible, but about creating space for whatâs truly important. To live a more intentional life, one wi...
How To Say No To Others (Without Feeling Guilty)

In the movie Yes Man, Jim Carrey makes a covenant with himself to say yes to every opportunity that comes his way. But I think that the problem many of us have is not that we don't say no enough⊠Saying yes comes at a price. When you say yes to one thing, youâre also saying no to something else. And when you say yes to everything, you really arenât saying yes to anything. But if you learn the p...
A Day In The Life of a Slow Living Minimalist
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 15KPĆed 8 mÄsĂci
This is a day in my life as a slow living minimalist. Join me as I shoot videos in the forest, work from a coworking space in the afternoon, and relax at night. I try to live with intention. Taking it one day at a time. I try to do things that feel meaningful and joyful to me. To build a life I can reflect on in old age with a smile. Enjoy! How Minimalism Reduces My Stress
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 14KPĆed 8 mÄsĂci
The other day, I watched an episode of Hoarders. This is a show that profiles people who have accumulated so much stuff that it has completely overtaken their homes. The conditions these people live in are often tragic and even dangerous. I felt anxiety just watching this show, and I canât imagine what it must be like to live in a place like that. Minimalism has had the opposite effect on me. D...
3 Books That Changed My Life

Iâve read many books in my life. But there are some that really resonated with me, that greatly improved my life once I started applying their core ideas. So in this video I want to share three books that had a great impact on me and continue to guide me on my journey. Books mentioned in the video: âą Mindset - Carol S. Solo Hike in Pirin Mountains Forest (Bulgaria)
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 1,1KPĆed 9 mÄsĂci
I've been going on a lot of hikes lately. It helps me to slow down and get out of my head. In Japan they have a word for this: forest bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku. It means healing through being immersed in nature. Itâs about taking your time, wandering, listening to the birds singing, smelling the pine trees, and feeling the breeze on your skin. Taking in the forest through all your senses. Connec...

Was about to watch this in 2x speed đđ
you would have spoken slowly .
I have been living with just and back pack and a carry on bag since September 2021. After immigrating to Mexico alone in my early 60âs. Traveled around the USA staying in rooms with friends, family and timeshares while collecting documents for moving to Panama. To get their retirement Visa with its generous benefits. Now trading services for a shared house on a small island in the PNW while supporting the Presidential candidate RFK Jr. After the election depending on whether he wins. Seeing if I stay or move on. Love this lifestyle. I donât own any mode of transportation other than my feet and I like that way. Thanks for spreading this lifestyle. It help having been an only child and loving my own company and never getting bored.
Ahhhhh single lifeâŠ
Society wants you to be fast because it wants to be served. It's not about our interest as individuals but the very opposite. Societies that shame laziness or being selfish or not having children via religion or cultural values (or even laws) also do that to control our behavior, moving it further from our personal interest.
For a long time I felt I had to get away into the wilderness. Now I understand I would feel alone. For me, it's more about accepting the way I want to live and remaining integrated with city life. When I realised this a song was playing on the radio. I forget the name, but the lyrics are "peace in the valley, peace in the city, peace in the soul". Poignant at the time.
Didn't expect to see Sofia clips, but why not ;D I guess it's a pretty slow place from Western viewpoint :D
My old friend once told me to "discover the speed of going slow". I'm afraid I still haven't discovered it, because I work in a very fast paced, high stress field. I want nothing more than to slow down a little, and achieve better balance. It just doesn't seem achievable until I am near retirement. :*(
I have the advantage of being retired. I can can, make yeast breads, make cheese... It is very cathartic.
Me my whole life
What can you do for income, though đ„č
The dilemma: how to work less and slow to not end up homeless?
Coffee is anxiety juice.
I think you are actually talking about the most important moment.
some ideas that came to me while mountain biking... fast is good , BUT never be in a hurry. focus on the path, not the obstacles. balance requires constant adjustment, its not a permanent state.
I'm doing most of these things. So I guess I am living slowly already. But I'd be interested in a guitar tutorial of the piece you played :)
What is the song or tab are you playing on the guitar?
This is way tooooo basic. No original ideas
yeah I get that lot from my own people and my family too they always call me a slow learner, and that is why I get bullied by my own people and family too
This is the guy who is all calm.. but suddenly loses it in traffic or something place .. đ

the BIG rap was fire, ngl ;-)
When I hear about quotes about people regretting things on their death bed I always think if it's actually doable. It is much easier to turn to the past than it is to fear about the future. People forget that what you did in the past got you to where you are now. Who knows what your life would look like if you made that bold choice you regret now.
just to prove i'm an expert i played the video at 25% speed.
Man, we are in search of answers huh?
I looked for your videos today. Best on your journey. Morning pages.
What does it mean to me? It means not being a busy body. CZcams is full of them, so thanks for talking about this.
Hi Peter, I'm interested in your thoughts on how minimalism, sustainability and ethical consumerism intersect. While my experience mirrors yours in terms of stepping away from designer/branded clothing, however I don't buy cheap knockoffs or H&M fast fashion. I focus on intentionally purchasing good quality, ethically made clothing that will last and where the supply chain is transparent. For me, minimalism and ethical purchasing go hand in hand.
What's the use being fast..people die anyways some day... being fast is not worth it
I really enjoy watching your videos! I have learned a lot and gotten some great ideas. Thank you and please keep the videos coming!
It's the journey that's worthy, the destination is the by product
slow is smooth and smooth is fast
Slow living is a privilege. It's not a choice for majority of the population
Iâm going to take a step back from this video turn off my iPad and get back to my book to kill a Mockingbird. Talk to you later, or maybe not
This video takes too long
Hello Peter⊠I miss your inspiring videos. Hope you post an update soonđ
This is great and comes to me at the perfect time! Take care and have a beautiful day!
How about getting a life, wife and children
Yeah it's 2024 and we are halfway through the year already. I'm at a point in my life where i want less but more. Guess not being tide down with the busyness of every day living.
This is just a reminder to me that everyone is different yet struggle at times with happiness and suffering, for me Iâm just tired of shallow talk at times but I believe to be shallow about my problems is best and donât ask how I come to this but I believe itâs healthier I can see why they scramble brains in the 50s and I made no gainful ways of being happy in certain environments I just canât and so what
Thank you
Hello Peter, I just found your channel and I really love it! Thank you!
Hi Peter, i am a young litigation lawyer from India with 2 and half years experience. I jumped right into practice after my law school and worked for a year and a half in the lower district courts and from 2024 started practicing in the High Court of my state . I wasnt paid back when i was practicing in the lower court but got good hands on experience in law practice. After my move to High Court I am finally getting paid a good amount of money when compared to my peers and have good mentors. Everything seemed to go well in the last 5 months when i realised how valuable time is and how its just flying before my eyes. I leave to work at 8 am and return home at 10 pm or 11 pm . I literally walk the entire day and my everyday step count is 20k . I can only use my house to sleep and not have time for my parents or any hobby. I love reading books but i couldnt read any with my hectic schedule. I consider myself luckly if i get time to eat three meals a day amidst the busy running between different courts. I am really burnt out and i was ashamed of it cause i felt i was too young to feel burn out with not having accomplished anything worthwhile . Law was my passion for all these years and suddnely it makes no sense to me to not like the profession anymore and feeling awful to go to my workplace everyday . But i slowly realised burnout can happen to anyone and that no one should beat themselves up to perform when in burnout. Ive presently taken a 2 month break from practice to contemplate and decide when my mind is settled and pleasent. And i already feel better not working or runnning all day with anxiety .I now realised that luxury is having time to do things slowly and the way you want to . Right now im back to exercising , eating good 3 meals a day , having a slow paced life rather than the constant running and anxiety and anticipation of threats , sleeping peacefully without thinking about a case etc etc . I love that you have spoken about this as this serves as a guiding light to us burnt out lawyers. Thank you and wishing you the best.
2:57 - No. I actually WANT to do everything at a snail's pace.
In order to do "slow living" you need to find a "slow" way of making money. It all starts with money, because you can't live without money. If you have a stressful, fast-paced job, no way you can do "slow living".
Watched this on 1.5x speed so you donât waste time
Please come back soon. This is one of the best channels on all of CZcams.
Iâm saddened to see families in restaurants all on their phones. A restaurant in Verona, ltaly, gives you a bottle of wine if everyone in the party puts their phone in a locker! đ âThe Sweetness Od Doing Nothingâ by Sophie Minchilli
