- In today’s fast-paced world, it can be difficult to slow down. There’s work, family to take care of. If you’re lucky, you may be able to fit in a workout. And with working from home becoming more common, the line between work and personal time gets blurred more easily.
But slowing down is also difficult because our attention gets hijacked all the time. Emails, notifications, advertising on social media. With our smartphones always within reach, every potential moment of boredom is immediately filled with something to entertain us.
With a constantly racing mind, it can be almost impossible to relax and unwind, even if we want to. So in today’s video, I want to share an exercise you can use to slow down.

What is your best tip for slowing down?
Be careful with online time. How much and what you see/do.
Psilcobyin ;) and taking the time to be grateful for the infinite amount of things you can be grateful for in a moment
Stepping off the treadmill of life-deleting social media, being mindful of how you allow the world to impose on your life and the time and attention you give it-and living life on your terms as much as possible-it’s easier if you’re retired but doable if you have work, family and a social life.
This is one big reason why I like watching asmr. The asmrtists take their time to show an item, they might describe it, look at it from different angles and of course tap on it. The more time and attention they give to an item, the more i appreciate it as a viewer
Okay so this is my second vid of yours after the first one on what's slow living! I really like your vibe here❤ Subscribed for sharing all your insights beautifully 🙏✨
Thank you for the kind words, I'm happy the videos are resonating with you! 😊
Thank you for the challenge, I totally accept. Wonderful wisdom, and as trees are some of my favorite friends, I appreciate the way the message was delivered! Take care 🌲🌳 🙂
Thanks for watching, Penny! Good luck with the challenge 🌳 🙌🏻
watching this video at 1x speed
😀
How do you manage to do this... I developed the habit of watching at x2 or x1.5
@@swiftismymum4544 I don't know English well and I don't understand at x1.5))
Thnks so much. Very good thoughts on this. Too slow down, a good start is to want less ; enjoy what you have more.
Indeed 😀. Thanks for watching, Lachlan!
The problem with working remote is that work became more dense and very task oriented. There are no downtimes or social interactions anymore and you work straight through the whole day mostly in tools from Microsoft. I also noticed more alienation in general and lack of motivation. Imho corporate lawyer isn't an appealing job anymore and you even feel more like a hamster running in a wheel against regulations and deadlines.
Thanks for sharing your experience and observations. The line between work and personal life blurs when working from home. There are pros to working from home, but also cons (such as the lack of social interactions with colleagues you mentioned). I agree with your comments on being a corporate lawyer, I was one a decade ago and haven't missed it since I quit. Take care! 🙌🏻
Thank you for sharing this information. great tips
You're welcome! 😀
Thanks for this
I love you Peter. Thank you
Thanks! 🙏🏻
This is like the visual part of the 5 4 3 2 1 grounding technique
Is it? I've never heard of that technique! Will look it up, thx for the tip 🙌🏻
I luv your channel man. I accept the challenge Let's go 👀
Thanks, and good luck with the challenge! 🙌🏻
Have you ever read 'Tao Te Ching' by Lao Tzu?
Yes, although I haven't read it. On my list, thanks for the tip 😉 🙏🏻
Tomorrow l am going to slow down by watching tress ,plants and animals ❤
That sounds like fun, Ruth, enjoy! 😀
Question, does it work if i draw the object, or does that race my mind too?
I think drawing is a great way to unwind! If I had any talent for it (drawing stick figures is my current level 🙄), I would probably do it more often. I'm sure there are so many levels of going deeper in your art once you're getting started with drawing, similar to the trees example. I suggest giving it a try, let me know how it goes! ✏️
