Crazy, so much good food in the Philippines, and you only look for fast food, why even live in a foreign country if you can't adapt to local life.

Hi Steve, I do watch most of your videos. You are honest and provide good content. I am , however, baffled by you saying that you're a picky eater yet you like McDonalds. What about fish and seafood? There must be a lot of that on these islands. Thanks

I'm also Steve, I can relate to the Supply issues. No offense to anyone but Jollibee is some of the worst food I've ever had although their fries and I will eat when I'm with Filipinos. I live the Provincial life on an island very few foreigners come to, South of Luzon. There's no fast food chains or McDonald's here. I have a partner and a Community that I am part of otherwise I wouldn't be live here but it's peaceful and quiet. None of the congestion or air pollution of the areas surrounding Manila.

It never fails. My wife and I will look at a menu of say 100 drinks and I'll pick the one drink that I like and it never fails--------------------not available sir and that's at the big Malls in Cebu City.

Yea am considering Cebu just because there is access to hospitals there. My wifes family is there also. Am in good health now at 61 but you know eventually you will need some medical care. Good video, enjoy your stay in Coco Grove, Steve...Jim

You need to do more research. There is an amazing sorry sorry store right outside of Cocoa Grove to the left. I was just there. The guy sells everything from candies to food to bread to hygiene products. If you walk in, he has two rooms full of snacks and food it’s a little mini supermarket You don’t need to wander around the island it’s literally right outside the resort to the left

I just watched a finance show based in the US. A caller into the show said he just got engaged and then ran a credit check on the woman. Found out that she had a "Family" credit card in her name with $19,000 in debt. She said her mother uses it and there is no need to worry, her mom is helping her build a credit history. Wow to everything.

It's better to not eat than eat at McDonald's and Jolibee anyway. You need to be more open minded when traveling to expierence different foods.

In Palawan and I can tell you, you don't move to a province without knowing the luxuries you are giving up. I miss a lot of things, but the quiet life won me over. Be aware though., Steve is on point. Province life is not for everybody.

Hi Steve, I just recently retired and moved to HCMC Vietnam from the USA. One of the things that I like the most about HCMC is the vibrant nightlife. My favorite pastime is listening to live music, and here the bands play mostly Western Rock/Pop songs. I am considering living in the Philippines, but I am wondering what kind of entertainment is offered in the provinces. I am thinking maybe the provincial lifestyle may not be a good fit for me.

I live in the Phoenix area here in Arizona and the one thing I purchased that really comes in handy is a portable camping refrigerator/freezer the ones that look like a ice chest. I put it in my car when I go shopping and put the frozen stuff in there so it doesn't defrost by the time I get home. You can plug those into the cigarette lighters of your car and they don't use much electricty at all. They come in all sizes and aren't really that expensive anymore.

Good show Steve. Like you I'm very picky and eat "mostly" western style food. I could go to a resort like that for a few days and enjoy it very much, but to actually leave a city with the conveniences I have in San Fernando I know I wouldn't last long. We are just so blessed on Luzon compared to other islands when it comes to the variety of cuisine and the lack of "sorry sir but we're out of stock". It's a phrase I think I've heard in San Fernando maybe twice in the two years since taking possession of our condo there.

Steve...You and I have 1 thing in common...I am a very picky eater also...I am more of a Meat and Potatoes guy...I mostly do my own cooking cause to me I cook better than most restaurants...But one thing I know when I won't eat once I visit next year...I will not eat most Philippine food...and that may cause me a problem let's just say..

Thanks for sharing this video. I've visited the Philippines a few times and Siquijor has always been on my list of places to see, but for one reason or another I've never been there. My upcoming trip will be all about r&r, unwinding, destressing and less about activities. This looks like a great place for that. 👍

My 8 months renting in Lapu-lapu I did not have problems like that. I like all kinds of food. My gf made American beef dishes for me. I like fish and rice. Gf wants to stay near cities for close markets and medical.

Before jumping into moving to the Philippines, research and plan off the research. It may take awhile, but you would be much better off and happier. Then be adaptable to your surroundings. If you can't adapt to the new lifestyle...then don't bother. And always have at least one backup plan, two is better. Great video Steve, I enjoy the channel a lot. Happy Trails
