Yesterday after your show I was trying figure out how that "toxic" word came to be. It almost sounds like simpleton. But according to the definition you read, it can't be simpleton. But what struck me as funny was later I saw an "ad" for a cartoon show which showed some animated animal, I assumed it was a dog, and next to the character was a "simp card"!
I was reminded by my sister and some friends that the word "ex-pat" was considered a terrible name to call someone because it meant an ex-patriot, someone who didn't love his country. It was applied to people who did basically leave their national origin or country of birth because they hated it.
The divisive attitude in the US, for me, came as far back as the late 80's,when I noticed how litigious things were. I was at lunch with an attorney friend at a great soup place. He took a spoonful of his soup and it was very hot. His next words really surprised me, "I could sue this place for serving food too hot to eat!" I never thought something like that would happen until a woman at a drive up window of a fast food place received a coffee which she put between her legs and attempted to drive her car, spilling the coffee on her legs and burning her. (The burns were not that serious.) She sued the place because they failed to warn her that the coffee was hot! And, according to the brief, it was hotter than it should have been!
I feel that this has set one against the other to the point that neighbours don't talk with each other any more. In 2016 when I returned to the US, I, being a rather gregarious person, would speak to people when I saw them. Most looked at me like I was a nut job. One man, a Navy Vet, returned my greeting. On one occasion as I was leaving the apartment, a woman was approaching headed to her apartment. I said good morning and she took off running excitedly unlocking her door and then slamming it shut! That's the way it is going there. I agree that the division which has been created is by design and most poor people just don't recognise it.

I look at it as educational. It gives you another way of thinking and looking at something or situation. I recently bought a book. I haven't read it yet, but seemed interesting. I personally stay away from crowds of expats as well as crowds of Filipinos. Truth be told, he cannot afford a child. Anything sets him off to throwing things, cursing, etc. When we worked together, I could almost wager that something or someone would set him off within 10 minutes. I told him, imagine your kid being kicked out of nursery or pre-k if they took on your behavior. He has a college degree but the only job he can keep is working at his church or bagging groceries for tips. He messages me often to talk and ask for prayer. (A sad situation).

I also think it’s unnecessary to casually throw around trendy and charged words that are common in the West but seldom heard in the Philippines outside of some expat circles and social media. It’s usually okay face-to-face, between friends, in a private conversation, but not necessary when speaking to the general public.
Those words are going to trigger a reaction every time and you know it in advance. The triggering is involuntary and uncontrollable for some. It’s like a western lifestyle induced PTSD. We all just want peace. Right?

Therefore, I wouldn't recommend using any language the left in the USA uses. My non-political gf was referring to signs of "climate change." I suggested she reword that to "changes in weather patterns." I believe it will take an event like Pearl Harbor to bring the USA together. I thought 911 would be that event, but it clearly was not. Again, just my opinion.

Hey Steve. People all over the world seem to have been deliberately set one against the other. Why is that? I guess to divide us. Keep us distracted. Like throwing a ball of yarn to a kitten. Who, or whom is behind this, and distracted from what you say? Well now that information is above my pay grade. I just know that it's a real thing, and it is getting in the way of our love and trust for one another. Making an inordinate number of people touchy, triggered and just a pain to deal with.
Another factor in the unfortunate phenomenon you describe, I believe, is the diminishing, or indeed, the utter disapearance of of men in our families. Men traditionally discipline the children, pointing them in the direction of socially acceptable patterns of behavior. This as opposed to women who(traditionally)nuture and profer unconditional acceptance and validation. This imbalance we have been experiencing for the last fity years or so, has societal implications, and not good ones. Of course, there have always been idiots, low lifes, and just ugly and mean-spirited people. But I know what you mean. There just seems to be more of them these day's...sadly. And I guess moving to the Philippines provides little in the way of respite.

I don't get triggered because I have nothing to be triggered about. I live a simple life. I look after my family. The kids are being educated, we have a decent income and, after a rather eventful life, I am just enjoying the peace of my existence here - a morning coffee, a 10km walk every day and few beers of an evening while I read my book (at the moment it is Huckleberry Finn, a re-read). I don't know/associate with any foreigners so there is no potential to be triggered. My wife, on the other hand, is a hair-trigger just waiting to ping! but that's the Filipina mind-set. She cannot understand that I simply do not give a crap about 'saving face' or 'what the neighbours think'. Sweetheart, you own a shit-load of property, you don't have a mortgage and that's because of me. @@MrSteven5975 Still hanging out in Iowa. My wife works fulltime at the University of Norhthern Iowa. I still struggling some with my health but hoping for some upside soon. I still look at a lot of your videos. Always interesting. I don't have to go to the Philippines.....my wife has a cluster of six Philippine folks across the street. And she working on getting her other son and daughter in law and 3 children here. Nanie my wife worked with immigration some as a translator and police woman for 15 years so she knows the ropes and the people. She might get it done! But it is slow.

Well, it seems like you've only upset the emasculated Eunic's, so I wouldn't worry so much.
Those people are never going to be happy and I would say, "Just Ignore Them", but I know how they like to insert themselves into the business of others. I would be blunt with them and just tell them like it is.
Reality, really doesn't give two sh*ts about your "Feelings".

Maybe that statement is too simplistic? Anger is just one of a range of emotions that makes us human. For example, if I see someone beating a dog then I'm going to get angry. A robot would not.

I watched the whole video. Twice, actually. You are railing on the use of term "simp" and identified it with toxic people. Ok. Yet today, after what appears to me as you being really triggered about the simp word, now cite your amusement at others being triggered? And you get to use whatever words you want, etc.
I'm genuinely perplexed at this double standard. So you can be triggered, and people are "idiots" according to what you provided today, if they take what you said, in the vernacular of the trade, and hold you accountable? And should have given you a pass and know what you meant? I don't know, but possibly there's some inconsistency with regard to standards, both with yourself and with others.
I'd reflect on it, and possibly you could avoid future damage control vids.
