I'm a Filipina nurse here in the UK and I'm moving back to Philippines too. I've had enough of too much entitlement, exaggerated political correctness and ridiculous extreme feminism. I'm a woman who is capable of doing womanly things and I need a man to do manly things for me. End of. That's why I'm dragging my husband to Philippines where there is a tiny bit of hope.

I too left los angeles and came to the Philippines. It's getting so dangerous. I was always worried at night going to my car I'd be the next story on good morning America.
I’m also a Filipina, retired from the healthcare industry in the USA after working 36 years. And settled down in Iloilo in December 2022. It was the best decision I made. I felt a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, and stress has disappeared. I’m 57 years old and now doing things I was unable to do on a regular basis because I was a slave to my work. I didn’t just thought about it overnight. It was a year in planning on my part. I’ve set a budget for myself here in the Philippines, until I can get my pension at 62 years old. And folks, it is possible….. I’m now happy, I keep myself active physically, and I’m meeting new friends.

My doctor here in Arizona is a Filipino..I really like him because he listens and is concerned about my health. I'm older now and have a few issues. I'm glad I found him and he was recommended by one of my specialist here.

I’m Filipino who has migrated here in the US when I was 18. Have worked as a RN for 36 years and preparing to retire back in my home town of Naga City in the Bicol region of southern Luzon. My mother works in NYC as an NP. She has units predominantly Filipino, who always move back home after retirement. Some own hotels or a lot of land and are living the good life😊
Great interview! As an American woman who is thinking about getting out of the crazy USA to retire I like watching videos about life in other countries. Phillipines sounds pretty great but usually it's all geared towards guys. So I love this.

Really good interview. I moved back to America in 21 because of Covid/Visa issues and it is crazy. I was in Southeast Asia for five years and I cannot wait to get back for mainly my mental health and I found my physical health got much better as well living in Thailand, I’m choosing the Philippines, because the Visa is easier and the language barrier is not as difficult.
Yes, it's really sad what's happening here in the US. Instead of focusing on governing, one party is engaging in endless culture wars to rile up the crazies.
Go backpacking other places too. Asia is huge
My husband and I lived Thailand for 3 years when my husband was working for IBM. I loved Thailand with the exception of too much prostitutes everywhere. Not a great place to race kids. Yes, it's true. Communication is hard in Thailand.
Similar here, I was in Thailand for 4,,,, return to USA for Covid and my mental and physical health is declining ,,,, all I think about is Asia

My husband ( also Paul) is a great fan of your channel, we have talked about spending time overseas when we retire, escaping the South Australian winter every year, or even moving to a place like the Philippines and experiencing a different lifestyle, Australia like America is a very different place than it was pre - covid, there is so much division and hatred against anyone that does not agree with the views of the Woke brigade. I have searched all over looking for women's perspectives of what it is like for Western women. Men seem to love it but I couldn't find a lot from a women's point of view. Great to hear from Karen, she is a lovely person and has a great take on life. Thanks for interviewing her I really enjoyed it and she has put my mind at ease.
A stare to a foreigner, usually is admiration, not discrimination. You are WELCOME IN THE PHILIPPINES.
Finally someone addressed the subject of female expats in the Philippines, Paul you really should try to interview more women expats to see how they adjust to the different culture. We might be surprised of the answers compared to the mens perspective and i imagine there are married expat couples that also made their decision to move to the Philippines and are going through an adjustment period. Great and refreshing interview Paul looking forward to seeing more on the subject.

Just returned from a short trip to the Philippines and notice how warm, friendly and courteous people are there. I'm american of filipino ethnicity living in the USA for almost 40 yrs now, and had planned on retiring back in the Philippines in few more years. I visit Manila every year and enjoy it a lot, and cannot wait for the time to move permanently. USA is not the same anymore. Racists people are now out in the open and feel empowered.

Everyone wants to think we are living in the end times, and so far everyone has been wrong. I am also a Christian but I also like facts
Yup, I had a good friend who didn't think he should bother finishing high school (40 yrs ago) since our pastor convinced him we would be called away at any minute. Not sure what he did as we never talked about it again.
End times began when Jesus ascended back to heaven after his ressurection. Why has he not come yet? The Bible said in 2 Peter 3:8-9 that God is being patient with us for He does not anyone to perish and giving us chance to come to repentance.
yup. things have been waaaaay worse in the past than they are right now. Things are still relatively good, and yes they will probably get worse, but still. "All this has happened before, all this will happen again"
Karen seems like a light, like a very genuine, righteous woman. I just turned 50 last month and I've been thinking of coming home to my province the Philippines, too, maybe not full-time, but for a good amount each year. Thanks for featuring a female expat; we need to hear more of the female voice of experience too.

Hi, Paul. I frequently watch your vlog. I'm a Filipina living here in the U.S. for 5 years now. Someday, I'll return to the Philippines, God willing. I was surprised when Karen mentioned about MV Doulos, I can't believe my ears. I was on that ship for 2 years. We went to Port Elizabeth then to Cape Town because the ship had a major electrical rewiring at the time. I'm really happy that she was able to articulate what she shared about the end times. I hope & pray that the people who watch(ed) this video will come to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you & May.

I'm a black man that grew up within a inner city but I've lived a full life; a shadowed tale of rags to riches. I'll for sure be spending my 50th birthday right here. I couldn't find peace anywhere in the U.S. I'm from a rather once preserved area called Grand Rapids, Michigan and being in tune with the city I grew up in, I sensed nothing but an uprising of danger and unrest. Thank you for your Words of hope, redemption and clarity. The U.S. is changing faster than most might wanna admit. I Thank God my children have all graduated.

I am Filipina. I was born and raised in the Philippines. Back in 2000, I decided to acquire a US citizenship because renewing my green card every year was getting expensive. Almost everyone from my parents' side of the family were in the states. My intention was to go back to the Philippines after that, but then I met and fell in love with my husband, and decided to stay longer in San Francisco, CA. Then in 2007, just before the housing crisis, I lost my job while I was pregnant. New horrible tenants moved in from above our apartment. Because I felt isolated, I developed post-partum depression. We saw our savings getting slowly depleted. Despite our dire state, we considered this as a blessing in disguise, because it was what made my husband and me decide to move to the Philippines in 2008. My parents, who both are here in the Philippines and very supportive of our decision, gave me the keys to the family business. And we now consider the Philippines as home.
I acknowledge that the US is a great country. But with what's happening there now, things are becoming ridiculous and insane, especially in California. There's lawlessness and dangerous ideologies that can affect the lives of both adults and children. When I watched youtube videos about the dire situation in SF, I was in disbelief, and thought that this was some sort of propaganda to discredit the city which I used to live in and loved. But family and friends back there confirmed this was true, which is sad. We'd like to visit, but we will have to wait until things get better there.
If you’re interested in a friendly, family orientated, affordable society the Philippines should be on your radar no matter gender, race, single or family.

Hi from Australia. I lived through one of the longest and harshest COVID lockdowns ever in our state of Victoria. I could go on and on. We are back to normal now although COVID remains in Aussie in pockets. I caught a plane this week and wore a mask. It hasn't been forgotten and left painful reminders and affected us from the consequences of our movement being restricted; it was hard to make my body move normal again after months of sitting around, getting tired,, eating less healthy meals and seeing business forced to close forever. We will never forget. I disagree about the end of the world thing; our world has been battered by disease, disruption, mass immigrations throughout history.
True, but we didn't have nuclear weapons until now. ✌
I'll say one thing -- she has a million-dollar smile. What I'd give for her teeth. But there's a soul in there that is very serene, and so it's reflected in what we see here. A white woman in the PI is analogous to a fish out of water, but she fits into the culture there because she's also nice and friendly and loving and knows who's in charge, and to that extent she fits right in.

I just returned from my 2 week vacation in Thailand where I spent my time with my Thai girlfriend and let me tell you that it was the most wonderful experience!
We started our online relationship about 7 months ago and finally together face to face. She is everything I had wanted from a woman but for all of you guys thinking every online relationship will lead to a successful meeting, compatibility, and chemistry, that will never be the case.
We had honest, sincere, warm, and affectionate feelings for each other during our online video chats, texting, and messaging and it transformed when we were together.
I will make my next trip out 6 months from now to be with her and see how my 2nd round turns out. I will probably spend more time with her but eventually our goal would be for her to move to my home in the future. Good luck to all!

The stress of work and rat race started to affect my peace of mind and well being.The US is not for young people.Your videos are very informative,inspiring and you help people by telling them the real deal.I really love this video and the content. I live in the same island that you reside but on the occidental part. The Philippines is not for everybody but it’s just perfect for me . Thank you and continue doing what you do.

Paul. That was awesome. This is the most important video you have ever put out. I would even estimate that this will be in the top 3 of your most watched videos. It was so great to start out the conversation with an American woman living permanently in the Philippines. Every example that Karen touched on is exactly how I feel and what I struggle or go through with in the state of America.
We've been planning our move for a good while. Less than 3 months, me, my Filipina wife and daughter will be moving from South Carolina and living in Bacolod City permanently. I hope to make it your way one day soon and hang out. Thanks again for the topics you talked about.
Veryg imformative, Karen's charm and smiling face seems that she's very happy staying in the Philippines. This interview must be extended for sure theres a lot of karen experience she could be able to share. Always choose peaceful simple life we dont need to be working our whole life. Life is short.
I must say Paul, this is by far my favorite video that you have done and it was great to hear Karens point of view and I believe she is spot on with a lot of what she says and what is going on in the world today. I retired from the military after 22 years and moved here last year to escape the crazyness that is happening in our country.
Racism was so rare here in the Philippines and we always believe all human being was equally same whether you are black or white .

Paul, yesterday I returned from Subic Bay, Philippines. Saw my old stomping grounds.I had a wonderful time. I first arrived in the Philippines in February 1977 with the U.S. Marines. I’m a old dog like you. I always enjoy in the Philippines. Past February my family (Japanese wife) & I went back to my home states of Texas. Everything in Texas so friendly. I saw nothing bad or wrong about Texas. I guess Texas & the Philippines are the most friendly places in the world. Currently living in Japan. Great channel. I love all your videos.

I'am a man who saw your CZcams Video and I happen to be married to a Filipina. We have been married now for over 26 years and I actually live in Manila for 2.5 years after getting married to my wife . We are here in the States but are in the process of moving back. We are both Christians, she is Catholic and I have been of the None Denominational kind not really stay with any particular Denomination. I like the way your guest talks about " The End of times and the last Days ". My wife and I don't really dwell on it but I myself have had a lot of teaching in that area and on Faith. I'am not a teacher of it, I will however from time to time just let out with something. There have been many signs I too have seen but I have to keep reminding myself that this is only 1 of many signs and they will eventually all add up but there is still a ways to go mainly because the Church is still here and there has not been the monetary collaps that was predicted but it will come eventually, When, only God can answer that. But the awareness and alertness neeeds to be made known. I really appreciate your interview. I hope and pray that many get to see and hear it !!!!

I'm working on renovating 2 homes that I'll be turning into Airbnbs so I have the income to live in the Philippines full time. Her talk of the news about the US is definitely a driver for me to continue pushing forward with that plan. I don't watch the news here anymore since I live pretty deep in the country, but the negativity of what's on the news is definitely starting to bleed out to the countryside. Thank you to Karen first for truly doing God's work and secondly for this interview. Tons of info from male expats but this is the first I've seen offering a western woman's take on life in the PI. I am interested in possibly moving to, or spending winters in the islands but that would mean taking my family with me including my elderly mom. So this is a huge issue I need to explore and resolve as to if this is even something I should entertain further.
I also have a somewhat disabled brother and the family dog to consider. In fact my mom and brother are the primary reason I'm looking for some place warm and sunny to spend our winters when I retire. So I appreciate any feedback anyone might have for us. Can we even being a dog with us?
Hope a future conversation includes Karen and her Filipino husband. Surprised when the conversation turned towards end time Bible prophesy, an interest of mine. Would have liked to hear more of her opinion on timing/sequence of end time events.

Wow. Now she got Filipino accent as well. Retiring in the Philippines is actually not bad depending on which location. The best is the province life where you can enjoy beautiful beaches and just chill. By the way when she said she standout when mixing with Filipino community, its not in a bad way and something to be ashamed of. In fact Filipinos got high regards for women who married Filipinos staying in the Philippines.

Great interview Paul! Karen seems like a sweet person and secure in her faith in Jesus. I agree with you that all these difficult or "bad" signs around the world actually give me great hope for what our Lord has in store for our future. His coming is called "the blessed hope" in the Bible. Hopefully believers will see the signs and seasons and we will be more motivated to share the love of Jesus with a world that desperately needs Him. Every day counts.

Truly the first few months will be a shock in the Philippines as a westerner. It will take at least a year to get adjusted to the Philippines specially with the heat, litters all over the place, houses looking dilapidated, too many people, traffic but after a year, you will find that life is nice in the Philippines with people laid back, not always rushing. People easily laugh and smile. You can just walk around if you have a good neighborhood. Most important is you are not always thinking of bills/mails everyday and that something you missed that you will get in trouble with uncle Sam.

very interesting i have watch Rev Billy Graham in the 60's on a Crusade in the Phil. I'm a PK third generation Methodist. Moved to US in my younger years, educated and have worked for 50 years. At 71 I'm finally coming home first time in 50+ yrs. Your interviews are promising.
If some say we are living in the end times - I dont see any hard evidence that will happen, but it is true the world is changing fast and face new challenges.
This happens every several years. It definitely gets old after the first four or five false predictions. Yes there is a lot of turmoil in the world, just as there was a hundred years ago with two World wars. Technology brings with it the culture wars, in the US at least and it's annoying the politicians don't just focus on doing their jobs.

God bless you Miss Karen. You and your husband made the right choice. I live in the vicinity of New York City and more crimes are committed every day in the city. It used to be safe walking around at 2 am in the city streets. In the present situation, the city can be “at the wrong place at the wrong time. God bless you and have lots of fun.

Great interview. What she says is true I agree with her biblical views. I was at Ground Zero coffee shop a few months back and met everyone. I had to go back to the USA in March to take care of business will be back to Dumaguete in a few months. Look forward to meeting everyone again.
I came here in America 1986 and have been back to visit twice once in 2010 and another 2019. Both times were such a wonderful time I spent there I miss it so much I can’t wait to retire and finally settle there. I have been watching a lot of your video Paul and other you tubers that blogg there in the Philippines.iam getting my mind set absorbing all the information so when I get there I know what to expect. I read through the comments and kinda feel bewildered on how everyone is commenting on how positive this video was. End times, America sucks, ex..... not that positive.
We are by far living in most prosperous, comfortable, educated times in the history of humankind. I'd like to think that our best days are ahead of us and not count on books of magic and fairy tales that speak of doom, and yes, the Bible, to me, falls into that category.

Welcome here in the Philippines. We love you ❤. In the end times, even big epidemic comes there are always food and water accessible unlike snow and desert places where you cannot bartrade your technology and gas anymore because of scarcity.
