    Only time I ever heard it used was on one bloggers channel who I listened to one time but he was angry and calling almost everyone who disagreed with him a simp. I had to look it up and I decided to never go to his channel again. The one thing I’m sure of is he will never have a meaningful relationship because his attitude sucks. His whole channel is trying to bring everyone down to his level and he loves to see people hurting. Which is quite sad really. He is miserable in his life.

    a 'simp' is a male who tires to negotiate genuine desire based attraction from a woman .. which is NOT possible by the way .. he IS needy and tries to 'buy' a woman's love .. having a genuine desire to help others with no expectation of anything in return and/or providing for one's wife or girlfriend where genuine love has ALREADY been established is not being a simp .. that is simply being a good and responsible person.

    I taught engineering there for 4 years to graduate engineers. I needed to learn technical Tagalog along with conventional Tagalog to get along better with my students, co workers and neighbors. The one thing I ask everyone was to please not teach me any insults, or cuss words in their language. That was 12 years ago. To this day I don’t know even one bad word in Tagalog. I have been married to my Asawa for 15 years. I have never heard a bad word yet! That I am thankful for. I have never ran across an instance that I would need a bad word for anyone there! Your right! The term "simp" is a slang word used to describe someone, typically a man, who shows excessive sympathy, attention, and flattery towards another person, usually a woman, in pursuit of a romantic or sexual relationship, without receiving the same feelings or treatment in return.
    The term is generally used in a derogatory way to criticize or mock men who are perceived as being overly desperate, submissive, or willing to debase themselves for a romantic prospect who does not share the same feelings.

    The first time I came across this word I could guess its meaning from the context, but just to be sure I looked it up. My dictionary said it was an abbreviated form of "simpleton." I'm no fool, but I do take a healthy pride in being a simple man. Straightforward, that is. Transparent. But no name-caller, and no sycophant toward women or anyone else. Yes, Steve, the name-caller is often projecting his issues onto others. Talk is cheap. What the world needs is more real men of the strong, silent type. Thanks!

Here in the Philippines I've only heard it used to describe older expats who spend a lot of money on a young filipina in order to keep there relationship going. It doesn't equate to married couples, or couples who have been together for a long time, or helping others who you're not in a relationship with.

    I agree Steve. When the term was sparsely used, it had meaning. Like any insult, when it's overused, it loses significance. People tend to use these terms when they want to degrade, not when they want to teach. It's possible to describe someone's actions as ill-advised without cutting them down as a person. I asked a therapist of mine what the guys in jail have in common, he told me "mommy issues." They project their issues with their mother onto all women.

    I was going to suggest “simpleton” for the meaning of the symbolic (or would that be ‘simp-bolic’) flashing red light over their heads but, yeah, “idiot” is a far better moniker.
    If those ‘toxexpats’ could just learn to be ‘simpatico’ it would be a far better world.

    I didn't even know that could be a bad word, but all right, LOL. xD I'm probably a simp, but it wouldn't offend me to be called one. Girls should pay attention to the words men use. If they use the word "Simp," that means the dude is selfish and wants it all about them. That's the type of dude that will cheat on them and treat them badly. Another example is, "I'm looking for a non-western woman with traditional values." Meaning he wants to be served and will probably have a difficult personality.
    At the end of the day, we need to treat each other like humans and our partner should be our friend, not just a transaction. If the other person doesn't return that favor, pick a woman with better character. Good character is needed for both men and women.

    I've heard the word before. I just looked up or tried to look up the meaning. It seems there are a few different definitions.
    As for you paying your neighbor's rent I never heard that but unless I'm mistaken I believe I heard you say at one time that you were paying the rent for the nephews of your ex.
    You talk about toxic and not coming over here for that and I'm with you there. So after hearing you rail about age gaps multiple times and then what you're trying to sell fails do you think that's going to go unnoticed?

      I’ve helped others for sure that needed help. But the twist people put on it is pathetic at the least. Normal things get turned into trash talk. They put a twist on your life to damage your character. It’s very sad that we come to retire to see this garbage here.

      I have stayed at BGC,Makati were Air B&B, 700 to 800 USD per month.
      Cities Mandolyoung,Taguig,Cebu at Carcar,Dalagute cheaper. Mactan Lapu Lapu, again it varies. Get your boots on the ground, than travel around different Barangays. Obviously, out of the city areas Provinces are cheaper. But than again we will have transportation issues. Keep in mind most Buses and Jeepny, No AirCon. As always have an exit plan from any country. I arrived January, 2020 when the “Bug” began.
      I lasted 6 months, never left Mactan.
      Due to the many Gov. restrictions. It was a surreal experience, that I will never forget. Mabuhay

  • @bonedust68
    @bonedust68 Před měsícem +1

    Its usage seems to me to be a sign of immaturity and a lack of depth of character to judge another on surface details without knowing the entire context and picture.. Because yes some guys, are nice to a fault, but if they do it for the right reasons, not for an outcome.. like sex, or anything else.. Then its the opposite of the definition given I believe... Don't be a doormat should be on anyone's well, doormat...lol

  • @aabikrman
    @aabikrman Před měsícem +2

    The word “simp” is used by dating and relationship coaches (and their sycophantic followers) as a derogatory term to mask their personal insecurities. Biologically speaking, it’s no secret that MEN (as opposed to little boys who haven’t grown up yet) are genetically programmed to protect and to provide. I’ve noticed that the people using the term simp are almost always insecure adult males that still think and act like little boys and are either incapable or unwilling to do either… They lack the backbone to protect and are either too self-centered or are underachievers that are too insecure to provide help for others.
    When I help others I don’t do so expecting something in return. I help because I’m able and the person I’m helping simply needs a little “boost” to get on their own two feet. And when I’m offered thanks, I tell them to pass it along when they’re in a position to do so…
