Two sayings about idiots 1. Never argue with an idiot, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience! 2. Arguing with an idiot is like playing chess with a pigeon, they knock down the pieces and crap on the board!
Steve our $2billion company where I am on engineering teams has required training in this! We each had to go thru questionnaires to identify our personality “color” strengths and guess that of others for team building. its no joke😮. It works to understand others. We all have the 4 color blocks stacked in order of our tendencies on our desks. Mine: Blue”get it right”, Red “do it now”,Green”in a caring way”, yellow ”Make it fun” Can you tell im an engineer? 😂
Another great book as far as looking in the mirror and saying I need to make some changes in order to alleviate some of the issues that sets us off. The four agreements is a must read
Hi Steve, the book title is making me think. There may be some truth to this. This just made me realize, we may want to choose carefully who we hang out with as an expat or otherwise. Yes, learning how to deal with different types of people is valuable. Keep well, David in Japan.
Funny you brought that book up. I just bought that on Shopee as part of a 3 book set yesterday. Small world!😊 Keep your dive planes level as you navigate life. GO NAVY!
Steve, great advice, I will have to get the book sometime to read. However, I am not moving to the Philippines to get away from people but moving for the cost of living.
I have a friend/former co-worker that hardly a day goes by that he does not blow-up (over nothing). He gets mad at God, that he has no children (in his 40’s now). I keep telling him that kids are expensive and despite having a degree, he works for tips. I can imagine a child would get kicked out of pre-k. Maybe, I’m the only friend that tries to keep him calm when most avoid him or make fun because he has no kids and or works for tips.
In the UK, 'blowing up' is pretty much regarded as a sign of weakness and that the person does not know how to deal with situations they find themselves in. Being in control of situations and yourself is regarded as a 'good thing' here. There is one single exception - be cruel to an animal or child, then you'll see red mist blowing up from someone from the UK!
Excellent video. I could have used that book when I was working. I still might get it. Idiots keep breeding and making more idiots. The great circle of life.
Hi Steve, if you're really into reading, then you might enjoy a Pulitzer prize winning book entitled: "A Confederacy Of Dunces", by John Kennedy Toole. It's humorous, & if you read it, you may recognise the story's characters in other people. 🤠🍻👍🏻

Can I throw one in too. “Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.” -Shaw-
@@drewrhodes2820 Hey! I just might like it too! Call it a guilty pleasure... LOL.

The key to getting along with people is to either lower your expectations or learn to drink 🍺

I agree, it's like living in a village here, but most everyone has the "village idiot" title.
Have a blessed night/day, everyone, and stay safe!
The title of this book was my life when I worked as a nightclub musician
Sounds like this only complicates things ...your talks on "boundaries " imho...is much more doable , practical and effective
